Are you saying that you do not consider Gunkata to be a legitimate and totally believable martial art, sir? I never.
So I was looking at that motherfucking badass fish tank, when I saw This comic just keeps giving and giving.
um, what is that? I can't tell. Also, this keeps building in awesomeness, Urk sir and/or madam. I approve!
This thread just gets better exponentially. I wish I could like threads the way I like posts just so I could like this thread.
This is the only reason that ever made me regret not having an avatar. Though not enough to actually get an avatar.
There's an easy way to fix that: Androids with the gender symbol/interrogation mark for a head, and a nametag with your username on it so people know who's appearing.
Wait, you mean that's not actually what you look like in real life? Aw.... edit: Jesus, Soli-Chan, I just wrote these posts 30 seconds ago!
YOU MAKE A GOOD POINT. Allow me to change the term to robots. Because robots is a suitably gender neutral word and is equally awesome.
Sure, if you don't mind invoking drudges, serf labor, and slavery. YOU MONSTER. (Which is to say, look up the etymology of the word robot.)
I had a feeling I wouldn't be allowed to cling to even that. Time to steel myself for terrible discoveries, then. Edit: WHY AM I NEVER ALLOWED NICE THINGS?
If Urk starts labeling things this comic is likely to end up in the political cartoons thread. I'm no scientist, but should that happen there may be something like a matter-antimatter reaction.
Impressive... however, we both know who the real woodcarving master is.... I'd link an image, but that would detract from the sheer awesome that is Saejima. Just watch the video.
With more people using comic crops for avatars... I uhh.... I'm starting to feel like I've committed some serious crime. Yeah, I somewhat agree. Bad pacing and inability to sort through ideas makes fanservice especially noticeable. There was supposed to be a little dialogue then Sjofn would be her on merry way to [REDACTED] that would be back on the LK plotline. The fanservice was supposed to be incidental and not a focal point, but it stands out now since dialogue was a little stilted and I didn't follow through. Rapunzel and Thoro were set up for a Dark Souls reference that I ended up scrapping since I already was getting off track enough, but in retrospect, it makes the whole clump of characters look randomly thrown together. By then, I was already itching to throw in a fight for no reason. That was then followed by a page of plot before I got distracted again and ended up with two pages of brains exploding. On the other hand, I'm making a supremely inaccessible comic. There's going to be in-jokes and hardcore fanography splattered on every page. A new member that glances at this would just end up confused since some ideas derive not only from avatars, but the personalities I can deduce from posts. There's so much interesting history to create fiction from, and it's been done: see the talented artists already shipping people and the humongous Let's Play OZZO OZZO SENSATION thread. It was shocking how easy it was to just start fiction. Normally I have a problem with not having enough ideas to execute on, but when I started working on this I had far too many and had to toss a lot of perfectly good concepts. I feel like LK doesn't need much interpretation. He's a good, honest lizard that often makes me feel like he's suplexing my brain with manly chest scales through the Internet as I decipher his posts. I was going to slip "Dovahkiing" into the last comic, but that pun was bad enough (even by my lax standards) for me to leave it out. Hahaha, just read that review now. I knew that Equilibrium would be divisive, and I disliked it initially until a friend told me to take the entire thing as unintentional parody, which made it a little more palatable. It doesn't? o.O
...Just how far into the OOS thread did you get? I may have to give you more likes as compensation for the irreversible damage.
S'ok, just kind of surprised :3 aragorn_opening_doors.gif Really though, only a few pages. I'm saving the rest for special days.
I'll keep it until I'm moved to celebrate St. Patrick's Day or something, then. ;) I'm sure there are MILLIONS of bunny leprechaun pictures, rite?
That's about right. His Lizard Kingliness hurts my human brain quite often. I like you, Urk. If I would have been told up front the movie was a comedy, I would have walked out differently. I think having read Ebert's (godawful) review beforehand is partly to blame for me expecting something of substance. That review's not my finest literary achievement, but hopefully it conveyed my utter disdain for that "film" effectively.
Not as random as you think provided you simply work through it. The writing and story will - has already - taken a life of its own. Follow it. That's how a lot of writing works. You just started it. Relax. This is how this starts, always. You're gonna have some stuff you're gonna use and you're gonna have some stuff you don't have room for, but maybe you can work it in later. Or not. Fuck it. If you see that as anything but a supremely great thing, a wealth of ideas and characters and thoughts, I'll...I'll reach through the internet and slap you in some totally non-physical non-painful way that won't impact your feels I promise. Not everyone can create something entertaining from forum hijinx. Many people think they can, but they really can't. You can. You have. If you like it, and I hope you do, and I can tell you in no uncertain terms that a lot of people like it as well, just keep going. A story is already playing out and it's pretty goddamned neat. It's also far more universal and accessible than you think. That LK is a lizard or Lum is a bird or why that guy has a beard made of cats or why a giant exploding crying head caps off the first arc is immaterial and in fact it makes it even better because who wouldn't want to know what the fuck all that was about? You put Lizard King in a cravat with little eyeglasses. You made him sound like the real man. Everyone looks at that and thinks "Oh God of course!" because it fits so well but by no means does it mean anyone else would have come up with it. Anyway it's fun stuff. I hope you keep going!
This is a classical true deflection worthy of sangry grognardiness. Also I do have an example of a love confession but bit too lazy to go dig it out while I'm drawing.
