Hello there! I imagine most of you have forgotten this little LP, it's hardly been updating which I must apologize for. I started this late-summer 2012 before being tossed into the energy-sucking whirlpool that is school. Another item: I'll be ditching translating every word in favor of slightly more general lines to try to get more content out and honestly, I suck at reading Chinese. I'll translate any important scenes in detail if I notice the scene to be of such. Less chitchat, let us play~



I can't always bitterly(...what the heck. Something along the lines of)look around. (It's probably one of the numerous as the stars Chinese idioms.) What should I do? (with a desperate tone)

Lovely, thanks to the Mac, I can now take larger screenshots for you. And clearly, Haruhi, the answer to everything is to romance the sparkles out of their pants. Now then, our first option is to receive customers and the second is to work odd jobs. Well shoot. I had been hoping it'd be a pointless option so I could move along with LPing. I assume the majority would like to be a fine dashing young man and go with the first.

Let's receive customers. Good that I something-host however, I'm supposed to chat with the customers. The days proceeded like this afterwards hyphen hyphen.

Kyouya says something that sounds like it'd taste mildly of chocolate, the content of which seems to go along the lines of, "Currently though, there aren't customers that highly regard your talk so it doesn't count much." Well I'm sorry I don't have the same rose-blooming capabilities as you. I'm sure if I eat more of Honey-sempai's cake, I might gain the ability to sparkle at least. Yes, that seems like a very fine endeavor to pursue right now. Kyouya tells me to raise my reputation and imprint myself onto the customers' hearts. Haruhi shrinks at the difficulty of the task.

Regardless of mind reading capabilities, we move on. Kyouya offers to tell me the particulars of hosting which is like to include an obscene amount of furious clicking on my part. I accept and Haruhi thanks him. He tells us standard stuff: nice clothes, chat them up before moving in for the kill (I'm actually fairly certain that's literally what he said) (okay, maybe not kill), and to appeal to their emotions. Haruhi mentions this seems like tigers' logic a couple times. Blah blah, this doesn't really matter



Apparently this talking business is much more involved than I had previously imagined. Well, I can always shove that cake and tea at them if Haruhi's tongue twists into a literal knot because of my poor button pushing skills.

Drat it. I finally figured out what all these little music notes and the accompanying dialogue was about but missed screenshotting Kyouya spitting a pink heart at me. It seems that little icons that pop out and fade indicate the relative mood of the character (and customer?). So people blow music note saliva bubbles in more than one game (TokiMemo does this as well) to show contentment. Good thing to know about Japanese culture. Icons include single eighth notes, double eighth notes, pink hearts (super happy), and going the opposite direction: sweatdrops, tumbleweeds of disapproval, and tornadoes of what-idiotic-thing-are-you-doing-now (supeeer annoyed).



Use this computer to confirm appointments/names(?) and to check on how much you owe. Don't worry, it's not leased.

I hesitantly say he's giving the computer to Haruhi for free. Hesitantly because this is Kyouya and money, he has to be lying.

Just recently joined and yet this forum has officially sealed the fate of my grades...and I shouldn't be okay with that
but...this thread...I mean...KYOYA!

Ugh, insanely busy week. I had literally less than 2 hours of free time from Monday til' Friday 9:30pm.

Okay, looks like it wasn't a tutorial for hosting...? Then what's the cake for? Do I pick chocolate to impress Kyouya and top it with strawberries to appeal to Honey? Smush it into Tamaki's face to make the Hitachin twins' heart pound?



I believe the bars below each character is supposed to indicate their affection for me. Naturally Kyouya has the least doki doki juice amongst the group despite attempts to hydrate him (see gif above this post). I'm not sure whether this is current status or just an example. I think the game also told me that every day, we'll get some time to hit on chat with the guys. Kyouya nods and leaves.



Transition phrase, one customer that walked in something to with the eyes......I should go welcome her.

Haruhi tells us a whole bunch of adjectives that I can't read about the girl, how she's like a white flower, etc. Wait. It appears she knows us. Hasn't it only been a week since we were forcefully inducted into the cult?

Haruhi asks what she's here for. Lily Lady just wants to see Tamaki who's busy serving others but Haruhi doesn't want to let her wait so they go the front to wait for him and I don't think I need to translate all this filler junk but whatever.



Something something something the point is she smiled.

Haruhi entertains our lady while they wait, just what is the point of this--I just noticed her waist. And her arms. I guess tea and fake love isn't that nutritious. Anyway, Lady says Haruhi says some weird things.

Am I hosting right now? Why is this an option? The choices are 'But myself...' and 'Definitely so.'

Uh, I have no idea what to pick so you guys decide! Do we agree that Haruhi's a little strange? What does this even matter? Who is this lady? And when does Kyouya show up again? Don't find out the answers to these and more on the next episode of So you want to have a Harem? Sorry for the short post. I'll resume as soon as I get a few responses. Meanwhile, I shall drink Pekoe tea and fake love with sugar.

I believe so. The freakier one to read is a2 where I didn't realize she was using traditional characters because WHO THE HECK USES TRADITIONAL CHARACTERS FOR AN OTOME GAME COME ON.

I feel compelled to clarify what Lily Lady said... But until I know if that's alright or not, I'm just gonna vote for "But myself..." because why not.

I love how much Kyouya shows up in this intro. Kyouya acts pleasant and arranges for tea for the lady. I think. He uses the respectful form of 'you' by the way. Also, this game ships Kyouya x Nodding. He nods almost every other line regarding him before and the next line has the guest nod before he leaves.



What were you thinking about?

Um, does this game know we're going for Kyouya or something? He's getting an unusual amount of screentime especially in proportion to the other characters.

Again with the nodding! Haruhi says that it's just like what Kyouya said! (which would be...? I don't recall what you're referring to.) No good, I can't think like this. (like what?)

I assume the question was something along the lines of her wanting to choose you as host so second choice just started your hosting? Different people prefer different things (I'm not sure if it changes every time), so RANDOM GUESS GO.

As for why someone would translate things into traditional Chinese, well, if they are from HK/Taiwan/Macau where they use traditional...It's also prettier.

Mm, I know that they use traditional characters in Taiwan. I guess it's prettier but a lot of the traditional versions of words are just other words stuck on top. My mother is native chinese and she can't write in traditional (although she can read it with slight hesitation) so I think it's unusual to use for a game. In the case of a2, the chinese is not necessarily there to be read so it makes sense to use traditional.
