Firm release date for Winds of Winter just announced! Haha, no. I'm fucking with you. What was announced is that George and his co-editor Gardner Dozois just turned in the finished copy of their latest anthology, this one titled Dangerous Women. Now if you've been following this, you know that Martin's been saying since 2010 that it would contain the next Dunk and Egg novella, which lemme say, I've been looking forward to far more than TWOW. Unfortunately, that one slipped. No She-Wolves of Winterfell this time out. Instead it will contain a story called The Princess and the Queen which Martin says will explore the events that lead to the Dance of the Dragons hundreds of years in Westeros' past. So. Yay. But also boo. No release date announced at this time, but it shouldn't take long. After all, it's already edited, right?!
Man, don't fuck with my emotions like that. It's not right. I actually never got around to reading the Dunk and Egg novellas, I take it you'd recommend them?
They're better than the core series at this point. They also take a tenth the time to read, so you have no excuse!
