Speaking of squashing people, Mandy, you're on top of a certain president right now...

    ...I don't believe you.

The most action either of them have gotten all game.

    ...what were you two doing?

    Chrissake, are you both twelve?

    ...I give up.

I... Think they're talking about being without hygiene for 4 days.
  3. Ozzo Hatoful Pigeon

    Children, children, no fighting!

You can't see it, but Mandy's just about torn Jake's legs off.

You done assessing each others' bodily needs yet?

    Yes. Yes, you really are.

    ...

WELP. And after perhaps the most life-changing experience they'll ever have, Mandy and Jake resumed ignoring each other for the rest of Catholic school.

    CONGRATULATIONS.
  4. Davian Korran Hatoful Pigeon

    That was SO ROMANTIC.

Can you really squash a rat by sitting on it?
James Birdsong, Sofalisa and Nerys like this.
  5. CuteCat Already Beat BF's New Expansion

I imagine they weren't actually right next to everyone when the shrink ray hit. I mean, that seems like a stupid idea. "Let me enlarge this tick! See, it'll be RIGHT HERE where I have my fingers, in perfect position to BITE MY HAND OFF..."

Finding it amusing how it took near 24 hours to finish the game, by the way. GO TEAM!
  6. Ozzo Hatoful Pigeon

Hey! To be fair, it took Mandy and Jake four days.
  7. Davian Korran Hatoful Pigeon

Four Days and a Pop Quiz.

Starring Jake Grant and Mandy McDowell.

This game is longer than I remembered.

And, well, you can obviously have romance in there, but it seems like everyone here hate happy love endings, huh?

Now were's Donmai with our World Ending's game?
  10. Donmai Hatoful Pigeon

Hey folks, just back from school, now let's play Last Tuesday~!
    ...
Sigh... If only it were "Friday"... Oh well~
    [IMG]
I know that feel, bro. Sis. Person. Whatever. I know it well.
    "... something about a windchime... a cave..."
-- YO I GOT THIS The cave is symbolic of a vagina! -radiates with Freudian pride!-
    [IMG]
"Blinking in the glare of the morning sun, I walked through my living room and opened the front door."
    ...
So, Mister/Miss/Person Person, tell me about your relationship with your mother.

First thing to do when you wake up in the morning to absolute silence despite living in a high-traffic area: get ready for work.
"Usually I'd wait there, bumping shoulders with office workers and food handlers waiting for the crowded bus ride downtown.
But the morning commuter rush was nowhere to be seen.
    So I waited.
I waited for an uncomfortable half-hour or so."
... I really pity Protagonist Person's lack of savviness. I really do.
"Finally, I gave up and started walking."
    Great work ethic, though.
    "It was empty, too."
Yes, darling, we can see that.
The last man/woman/person in the world.
What the hell did you do to be the only person not Rapture'd
    [IMG]
No real voting this time, just holler out your choices for morning, noon, and night and I'll do them in order~!
  13. Davian Korran Hatoful Pigeon

    Library, read, practice Spanish.

He seems useless in an apocalypse so he may as well be a librarian.
  14. James Birdsong Beardy Magnificence

    Library, Park, Spanish.

    First morning:
"It was quiet. That was nothing new.
On the front counter, a small pile of books was waiting to be returned to the shelf.
I picked up the top book-- 'The Quiet Earth,' by Craig Harrison."
... So the most immediate book is eerily fitting considering the atmosphere oh hell no, the human race did not just get Rapture'd by Haruhi.
"Since no one was going to re-shelve it, I thought I might as well.
If anyone ever came back, at least they'd be able to find the books they were looking for.
I put the book back on the shelf, in the 'science fiction' section."
    I've decided.
Protagonist person is now named Nageki.

    Afternoon!
    NAGEKI THIRSTS FOR KNOWLEDGE.
"The headline was something about the military-- some investigation.
I studied it carefully, but didn't quite have the context to make sense of it.
Still, I committed the details to memory. Perhaps it would be the last headline, I thought."
Sadly, Nageki did not mention if there were any mentions of the avian flu or anything like that.

    Evening!
"Flipping through them, I realized I'd spent much more time drawing weird, angry faces than actually writing down Spanish verbs and nouns."
We are the best Spanish student. It is us.
"But there were a few in there. I thought I might as well brush up. Maybe become the only Spanish-speaking person in the city...
    City-- Ciudad."

He seems to be taking this apocalypse rather well, though.
  17. Davian Korran Hatoful Pigeon

    NagekiNagekiNagekiNageki...

This brings back fond memories of yandere quails. I'm going to bed now, but can I leave a general vote you have him do Nageki-like stuff as much as possible? I've been reading too much Zafehouse.
  18. Donmai Hatoful Pigeon

The second day, at the library again
    [IMG]
"I took another book from the front counter. 'The Girl Who Owned a City,' by O.T. Nelson.
It was a story set in Chicago, where I grew up. I flipped through the book looking for familiar street names.
After a few minutes, I put the book back on the shelf, in the 'young adult' section."
    ...
Holy balls, Nageki is from Chicago.

    Afternoon!
I hear ya, Nageki man. You never know when you might get murdered in a place like this.
"It was small, but lush, with a man-made lake in the middle."
Bet you ten dollars someone drowned in there.
"I remember the ground was wet, soft, almost like mud. Even though it hadn't rained in weeks."
It's being haunted by the ghost of the person who drowned.
    RUN.

    Night!
"I assumed it meant 'context.' There wasn't anything else written near it."
    ...
Shame upon you and your family, Nageki. Shame shame shame.

    FREUDIAN ANALYSIS GO
    [IMG]
    PHALLIC
    TOTALLY PHALLIC
"I walked slowly forward through a punishing fluorescent light."
    And he hates his mom.
"I could hear a noise from room at the end of the hall, a repeating tone, like a bell."
And he has a poor sex life.
"Suddenly, a tinny voice clattered over the intercom."
    "How did you get here?"
-jots down in notes- Right, right, parent problems and sex issues, of course, of course... Oh, right, and first one who calls out decides, I guess.

    "You have to leave."
    ...
    Okay :c
  22. Donmai Hatoful Pigeon

    Third morning:
When I was young, I'd listen to the radio~ Waiting for my favorite song~ When they played, I'd sing along, it made me smiiiile~
    "It was just static."
    Phooey.
"I turned the tuning dial all the way down and very slowly moved through the stations.
For a moment, I heard something that sounded like a voice...
    But it was just interference."
And Nageki is still pretty chill with this.

    To the park!
"When I reached the small lake in the middle, I noticed that the pumps had turned off.
I guess they needed some human maintenance.
With no one there to operate them, the park was turning into a swamp."
And that's not a depressing prospect at all.
Look at all the shits Nageki gives~

    Now let's rot our brains!
"I sat for a while in the dark, watching white noise, flipping channels compulsively."
Guys, I think we're losing him.
"I thought about all the people in the TV shows that were no longer being broadcast.
Those characters and all their problems just... ceased to exist?"

That night, he slept restlessly again.
  23. James Birdsong Beardy Magnificence

Clearly we must do normal actvities that shall not remind us everybody's dead so that our mind never thinks about alone.. so very alone.
  24. Donmai Hatoful Pigeon

By normal, I assume you mean Nageki-like~ In other words, reading! Yes!
"I almost choked on the warm, dusty air circulating through the building."
Makes me wonder how hard it was choking on the hot, ashy air as the lab caught on fire~
    ... What, too soon?
"I took the next book from the front counter. 'The World Without Us,' by Alan Weisman.
The short blurb on the back sounded interesting, but I didn't really feel like reading.
I put the book back on the shelf, in the 'popular science' section."

"The 'Arts and Culture' section had an article about a new exhibit at the modern art museum."
Hey, you've got all the time in the world now! Might as well check it out~!
"It was a large-scale installation made of dead fruit-flies."
    Oh.
"I wonder if the bats had already eaten it."

"I couldn't remember what might have been going on in my life at the end of that class that would have distracted me so much."
I dunno, Nageki, you already seem pretty easily distracted considering how cool you are with the apocalypse.
"I found one English/Spanish noun pair, near a sketch of a car parked on an empty highway: 'tranquilo.'
    Quiet."
    ...
That's... not unnerving at a-- Oh look a dream

  28. Donmai Hatoful Pigeon

... In other words, you have an inadequate sex life! Haha! The puzzles of your dreams are no match for this brain!
You love handling long, wet mops, don't you, Nageki.

And some more schedule suggestions would be great~
  29. Sofalisa Already Beat BF's New Expansion

    Location:

Haha, you have a putrid mind.
  30. CuteCat Already Beat BF's New Expansion

Stay indoors all day! Or in the library. Either one.
Also, if he saw a newspaper on the ground and nobody exists and stuff ... can't he go to the store to get a nice, fresh, DRY newspaper? Latest edition and all. Come on, Nageki, nobody's gonna mind a little theft.

By the way I'm truly sorry but according to my dad we're leaving tomorrow, not today, so today was spent fixing stuff up and preparing for tomorrow's departure some more. Tomorrow I'm gonna be travelling all day and staying at a hotel. I should be in bed right now. So, uh, sorry.
  31. Donmai Hatoful Pigeon

Indoors it is! Library, cleaning someone else's house, and then more Spanish!
"With the air conditioning system broken, I knew that the only chance for these books to stay preserved was to keep the building sealed.
The library door would have to stay shut."
And with a heavy heart, Nageki kisses the counter adieu. "Good-bye, mon amour," he whispers and shuts the door as he leaves.

    Oh. Nageki is a girl.
    Oops.
"I found a house nearby, and thought I might go in and do some dusting.
If the people who lived there ever came back, they might not want to deal with all that dust."
Yes, Nageki is definitely cuckoo now.
"The dust was already collecting on the coffee table.
I swept it off, and straightened some magazines."

    ...........
"They weren't going to do me any more good. But I'd refreshed myself on a little Spanish, in the meantime."
    SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME

And Nageki slept restlessly that night as well.
I'll be taking over, I guess, since it looks like nobody else has any schedule suggestions~ Okay!
  32. Donmai Hatoful Pigeon

    Let's loot a grocery store! :D
    [IMG]
"I'd never had fresh coconut before, so I broke one open on a cash register and made a small breakfast of it."
    ... I worry about Nageki's stomach.

"I was able to make out a classified ad in the back-- still legible because the buyer had paid extra for bold text.
    He sounded lonely."
I'll assume the ad started with "For a good time, call"

"I imagined the narrator was documenting a new form of TV static: its mating habits, its nasty and brutish living conditions.
I imagined that it pained the narrator to describe."
Nageki needs a hobby badly but not right now. Dream time!
"I lifted the receiver and put it to my ear."
    "Who is this?"
What? No "This is dog" option? Phooey.
  33. Nerys Already Beat BF's New Expansion

    Location:

    "This is the janitor."

Also, the mating habits of television static sounds like it could be hilarious.
  34. James Birdsong Beardy Magnificence

Unless you are the janitor do not say you are the janitor. Impersonating somebody else is a crime. Who is this?
  35. Donmai Hatoful Pigeon

    Yes, this is janitor
    [IMG]
    Aye aye, boss!
    "And please--"
"The voice snapped into focus. Suddenly, it was all I could hear."
    "You have to leave."
    What a rude boss.

Nearing the end of the game now, I think!
  36. Sofalisa Already Beat BF's New Expansion

    Location:
    Brazil
Okay, world, you have exact 34 minutes to end here in Brazil. Y U NO END?
Or maybe we're all awesome survivors.
  37. James Birdsong Beardy Magnificence

Hey don't forget to empty that bin. Being scared is no excuse.
  38. Donmai Hatoful Pigeon

"I dialed the tuning knob further up the spectrum.
One signal stood out from the rest: a repeating buzzer, like a doorbell or a car alarm.
I wonder if it was some kind of machine left running alone, or just interference from a broadcast tower bending in the wind."
    Strange, quite strange it is~

"I took some time to clean the dishes in the sink and pick up a few stray plates.
I wondered if the people living here had last eaten breakfast or dinner... it was impossible to tell."
    Every day, slowly losing sanity~

"I'd always planned to go there and see some classic or another, but never quite made it.
The front door was locked, but I could see a key on the desk just inside the ticket booth.
There was a small hole in the glass, where the cashier and the customer would exchange money for tickets.
I struggled to reach my hand through. It was a tight fit. I managed to grab a ticket stub, but that's all."
Looks like you're never going to see a classic then, huh?

"I dug around looking for something interesting to eat, some new and unusual breakfast.
Eventually, I settled on canned cactus. They tasted a bit like green beans."
Oh, good. I would be worried if cacti tasted like chicken.

    :c

"I tried to pick a channel and imagine a news program, a game show, something...
For a while, I pretended to watch a black-and-white cartoon about fleas in a snowstorm."
We've only played, what, a week or two but Nageki can't even remember television anymore.
I fear for his mental heal--

    Last dream!
"But I could hear something behind me, like a murmuring or a shuffling."
"The noise grew louder as I stepped forward and slowly pushed one open..."
"This is my cafeteria-- the one in my building.
It's empty, except for the staff. They're taking their afternoon break.
I can just walk over to them and sit down, have a cup of coffee, make small talk about the building."

-curtsy- Thank you, everybody~! This game has three endings, so check it out! It doesn't seem very popular. I think the atmosphere is pretty nice, though, don't you? That slow slippage of sanity <3

That was so cute, romantic and fluffy! The love interests are so pretty, and there are so many of them!
  40. James Birdsong Beardy Magnificence

Um was that actually an ending? There was no indication of that.
