fauxgirlfriend, do I need to do my Flesh Ward thing before I get that encounter? Since the bomb goes off during upkeep.

You set the bomb down during the Movement phase, so it will explode at the start of the next upkeep phase next turn. The turn sequence is actually: Upkeep > Movement > Encounters > Mythos, it's just that Upkeep and Movement are players setting stats and running around, so there's no point in making everything take way longer seperating them when playing by forum.

Sweet!!! A second Shrivelling, please. Kat, keep the sword you're not using.

Daisy's going to make some monsters push daisies.

I'm thinking I might need Mandy's reroll this coming turn. Just in case I don't manage to get off that Flesh Ward.

@Nate my reading says you can cast it any phase, and the bomb goes off in the next upkeep, which is the first phase of the next turn. In short people should feel free to use the reroll for this turn.

Basically everything Lazy Shiftless Bastard said.

All Patrice's clues have been used up, but this isn't too terrible because it seals another gate.

    @AaronSofaer you have drawn

Well, I pass the will check, now to see if there's anything I want to buy for 4 or less clue tokens.

Oh yes, Yorick will ditch his clues tokens and spend his monster trophy to persuade the shopkeeper to give him a Carbine Rifle! And since they cost 0, I'll take the remaining tasks for free too. I think that's the Minerology Report, Genealogy Research, and Newspaper Assignment. Next turn: mug shoggoth for its delectable corpse so I can find Speak and give her this dusty old spear!

But then there won't be anything for Daisy to kill left on the board :(

I update everything at the start of each turn, so basically the board is as it was before your last upkeep.

    A fantastic choice!
  14. Nate Worked The System

How close are we to dying?
  15. Lazy Shiftless Bastard Despondent Fancybear

It doesn't look like the doom track has been updated in a while, but if the Innsmouth board is accurate I think we're 1 Deep Ones Rising token away from being devoured.

    THAT IS CORRECT.

Though uh we do have, theoretically, a chance to kill the Ancient One.

If it comes to that, I'm throwing you to Yog-Sothoth first.
  18. AaronSofaer Magister Mundi Elyscape

Um, hi? I have three Gate Trophies, you have one.

I know who Yog-Sothoth is devouring first!

  20. Nate Worked The System

fauxgirlfriend, by my count, we're done with the encounters. Double check me.
  21. fauxgirlfriend This Is SEWIOUS

You are correct, and the update will be posted once I get back from celebrating the end of exams.

Sorry about the delays it has caused, been a bit of a nightmare week.

Dude, exams are hell. Congrats on being free of them! :D
  23. Nate Worked The System

Congratulations on all of your A's! Wait...do they have letter grades down there or is everything backwards? Z's? Omicrons?
  24. fauxgirlfriend This Is SEWIOUS

Update coming as soon as I figure out why imgur is fighting me about uploading anything at all.

If necessary I will switch image host.

A fantastic mythos card has been drawn, in that it doesn't end the game, which was a serious potentiality when you have deep ones so very close to rising.

A rift token appears, to St Erasmus' Home.

A clue appears at the Gardner's Place.

The Servitor doesn't move because of the environment, the hound doesn't move because it think it has Daisy in its clutches.

The Deep Ones rise up, and Yog-Sothoth has woken!

So, you have to fight him, prepping this fact now, will update your character sheets for it as well.

    Ohhhhhhhhhhhh shit.

So I still have exactly nothing I can do to damage this bastard. We can redistribute inventories before this goes down, right? Please? :/
  27. fauxgirlfriend This Is SEWIOUS

You do indeed, posting all the character sheets, you can redistribute items how you please.

In preparation for this final battle, feel free to switch around your items, and change your stats, if you can't make them ideal for your purposes, someone should use Hanzii s visions to increase the change.

Time for me to read the rule book! Never fought a boss fight before.
  30. AaronSofaer Magister Mundi Elyscape

Also, Joe Diamond and Daisy Walker are immediately devoured, and a number of things (such as Wrack and Bind Monster) are discarded, as are Retainers, Bank Loans, Rumors, and Environment cards.

fauxgirlfriend can we simplify the character boards? Everything that isn't relevant to the Ancient One battle can just go away (such as the Sedanette). Money is relevant, because of the Kerosene (which can be refreshed).

Also, I'd like a rule clarification. Can I "dual wield" Shriveling? Or can I only cast one spell per attack?

Also also, can we get our Sanity totals? Relevant for spellcasting!

Daisy is devoured? I already asked about using two shrivelings: the answer is yes.

  33. Nate Worked The System

I don't see the rule about Daisy being devoured. Don't we go to final battle before the time bomb goes off?
  34. Hanzii Magister Mundi Elyscape

Read Yog's card under the heading Start of Battle.

  35. AaronSofaer Magister Mundi Elyscape

If I have enough Sanity to pull it off, I'm going to take both Shrivelings, increase my Fight to 2, and ask nicely for Mandy's Glass of Mortian.

Tony Morgan should probably get the Handcuffs and the Kerosene, max his Fight, and use them in combination with all of our clue tokens (yes, ALL OF THEM) that are left after he passes his Will save, then use Mandy's reroll on his Combat check, simply because the Shotgun has the two-successes-for-every-6 thing going on.

If Yorick isn't using his Crystal of the Elder Things, I would like it, so that I can cast more Shrivelings.

Aaron, you didn't give me any instructions...
  37. AaronSofaer Magister Mundi Elyscape

I'm not giving instructions! I'm proposing elements of the battle plan. Someone could do dual .45s, someone could do Gladius+Sabre or Gladius+Enchanted Knife, etc.
  38. Nate Worked The System

I really wish somebody had said something sometime towards the end of the game. Daisy is taking the Shrivelings to the grave, along with all of the rest of her stuff. Sort of continuing the theme of our "group". Maybe collection of individuals would be more appropriate.

The lack of teamwork and organization in this group was disheartening, ladies and gentlemen. I gave up after trying to get organized early on, honestly, and just decided to kill things. This'll be my last Arkham game by forum.

    Thanks for running, fauxgirlfriend.

  39. AaronSofaer Magister Mundi Elyscape

I'm sorry that you feel that way, Nate. :( My character had a pretty singular role and goals as far as it went, and I didn't want to be "that guy" and tell people what to do. I don't think anyone wanted to be.

  40. Kat Keeper of the Elemental Materials

I'm honestly feeling the same way as nate does, and it has nothing to with you telling or not telling people what to do aaron, but rather that this game was played like some frigging PBEM game where communication was forbidden. It was like any attempts at team play from my side was met with silence for the most part, since most people were busy running their own little errands, and ensuring their own survival.

Gl, hf, and take any of my stuff.
