Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer - I'm still playing it.

I note this post was around the time Hunty stopped suggesting he'd come to boardgame nights.

Hah! It was really a catastrophic combination of being ridiculously busy at work, my MA finishing (intheoryJesusIstillhaven'tstartedmydissertationargh), organising a wedding and the fact all the meetups got organised on Qt3, which I hardly check anymore. I've barely had time to check in here much lately either, to my chagrin.

Plus, of course, you guys clearly don't share my rhythmic soul.

Still, would like to get back on that particular and do some more boardgamey stuff. We enjoyed it last time we came, and as I understand it they tend to happen in Bermondsey, which is only a hop and a skip from where I live.

Couple of minutes walk from Canada Water in fact.

I am placing a bounty on cnahr. I used to beat the guy, once upon a time. But now, however well I'm doing mid-game, he crushes me in the end-game. It's gotten embarrassing in its regularity.

I keep thinking I am going to take a break from this game. Then, as my games wind down and I only have three or four going, the withdrawals begin.

Owwwww. sinnick, that was painful. You kept grabbing the good cards before I could and the leftovers were just awful. I think your hand was twice as powerful as mine in the end.

Going back to just the original deck is interesting... I find that I mess up a lot, because I don't remember what the cards do.

I also realized that I kept challenging people adhering to Gus' arbitrary league rules. Time to change that.

Feel free to challenge me as well. I'll take on all comers.

What league rules?

Gus ran an Ascension league for fun and to prove with stats that the game wasn't random and he set up certain rules about what sets to use when challenging people.

How'd that turn out?

I'm also still in the game, and just noticed that Hanzii sent me a request including some of the weird promo cards. This shall be interesting. I have not had the time to play as much as I'd like recently, so some of my games have been slow, but I will accept all requests, and any combination of decks. And I'll try to respond a bit faster than I have been doing. I am binglebeep on GameCenter.

Here's the only thing you need to know about the promo cards: buy or banish Pathfinder at all costs.

Natus, I managed to accidentally hit "End turn" and "Yes, I am stupid" consecutively on accident before even playing a single card, so I forfeited the game. :( Sorry about that.

Currently my record is 10-14 so yeah. I'm not doing that hot. :(

I wondered what happened. I've done that myself a few times.

But my most common mistake is not seeing the "would you like to banish a card now, sir?" prompt, and "activating" my Hedron Cannon.

Or "Draw a card" and hitting "None".

So RyanMM I accepted your kind invitation though honestly I don't even have the game installed on my iPhone anymore...iPad only.

So it might take a little while to get through this game :P

Also haven't played in a looong time...maybe a year almost? I don't know. So you should win!

Goddamn, sinnick. Horrible luck that game. Every time there was jack shit to buy, I'd grab something and out would come a Mechana construct for you to immidiately snatch up. That was painful.

What ever happened to this? I'm wanting to add everyone to my friends list but going through the thread trying to find their usernames is a hassle.
