Gamefly is having a Not so Scary End of the World Sale from now until December 24th (if the world still exists then, of course). The featured games are: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic $2.49 XCOM: Enemy Unknown $24.99 The Walking Dead $12.49 The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut $4.99 The Witcher: Enhanced Deluxe Director's Final Cut Premium Limited Edition Edition $8.99 The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition $14.99 F1 2012 $24.99 Batman: Arkham Asylum Game Of The Year Edition $9.99 Batman: Arkham Asylum (Mac version) $26.79 (you'll take your overpriced Mac games and you'll like it!) Half-Life $2.49 Crysis Maximum Edition $7.49
Also, the Humble Bundle has added Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War Game of the Year Edition if you pay above the minimum ($5.67 as I write this). There's just under two days left on the deal.
For the first time, greenmangames doesn't like my sweet money. I'll keep it, GMG, and wait for the steam sale kthx.
I've got a 20% off coupon for Medal of Honor:Warfighter Digital Deluxe Version that I won't use. Send me a PM if you're interested in it.
Amazon's Gold Box Deal of the Day is Assassin's Creed 3 for $33 with a $3 Amazon Instant Video credit, a $3 Digital Games credit, and a $3 game trade-in credit. Also 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3.
GamersGate's four daily deals for December 11th are: Galaxy on Fire 2 $5 (75% off). Note: Galaxies do not actually combust. Torchlight II $9.98 (50% off). Nominated for 2012 Game I Should Have Waited to Buy Because I Knew I Wouldn't Get Around to Playing it Until it Dropped in Price Award. Fantasy Wars $2.49 (75% off). Fantasy and wars, together at last. Mad Riders $2.99 (70% off). Off-road arcade racing. Which will apparently make you insane.
Learned that one a while go... Now I wait for their 'GOTY' or whatever editions so I can get game + all the DLC in one shot. Picked up Saints Row 3: Full Edition a couple of weeks ago and don't regret not getting it when it first came out. (Feel sorry for the people that paid for it when it first came out plus the "season pass" DLC thing)
Question: (sorry Gamefly/D2D is blocked at work). The Witcher games prices. Is that PC DL or Console version? (Or both?)
PC Caravel's DROD: Gunthro and the Epic Blunder along with it's cult following are the new pay-what-you-want sale on IndieGameStand.
A Game of Dwarves is today's deal for €4.99 on GMG, and you can use the 35% off code WINTR-SRVEY-42012 on it as well. It comes with a Steam code. http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/ie/en/pc/games/strategy/game-dwarves/
Don't know yet, I'm still downloading it. I got it for free after entering the code and trading in a game from a previous sale. From what I understand it's pretty much a very casual version of DF and the like, so it might not be your cup of tea if you're looking for something with the same depth as DF and Gnomoria.
That is pretty close. Very light, but enough meat there to be a lot of fun. It will not be a game you spend 40+ hours on, but worth what GMG is charging. SpoofyChop played it a bit, too.
I think I paid like $10 and I thought it was worth it. In contrast I played Gnomoria for about 3 times as long (40-50 vs maybe 15) The one caveat is that if you are playing it primarily for its RTS qualities I would say don't bother. It really shines as a fun little building game...more Sims + DF than Graphics + DF - vampire carp (c.f. Gnomoria) but as an RTS I found it awful. The enemies can teleport into your base which just ruins any sense of defense tactics.
That's exactly what I was hoping for, just a cute little builder along the lines of the old Bullfrog games :)
Steam's Midweek Deals: 1. Iron Front: Liberation 1944 is $9.99 (67% off). I kind of miss WWII games now. 2. Street Fighter X Tekken is $12.49 (75% off). Also available for $3.24 is the Street Fighter X Tekken: Street Fighter Swap Costume Complete Pack. Behold its wonders: And in case you missed it, the Daily Deal for December 11th is Velvet Assassin (again) for $1.24 (75% off). As far as I know this is the only game with Morphine Mode: Shift into Morphine Mode when Violette’s memories betray her to reposition and gain an advantage against opposing forces.
GamersGate is all Sim-y for three of its four daily deals for December 12th: The Sims 3 Seasons is $23.97 (40% off). Sims with rain. The Sims 3 Supernatural is $23.99 (40% off). Sims with zombies. The Sims Medieval is $5.99 (70% off). Sims with iron maidens. Bastion is $4.50 (70% off) Sims with...oh, no Sims here. This is one of the few excellent indie games I've never bought in one of the billion sales it's been featured in. I can't say why I've resisted.
Good old Games has Duke Nuken 3d for free for the next 48 hours. http://www.gog.com/gamecard/duke_nukem_3d_atomic_edition
The gog.com Winter Sale runs through January 3rd. Today and tomorrow you can get Duke Nukem 3D free as noted above and 75% off Bullfrog favorites today, but only if you buy all eight games for $11.92. Do it and make Peter Molyneaux happy. The Steam Daily Deal for December 12th is Shad'O for $4.99 (50% off). "In this unique Tower Defense, you will travel through William’s mind in a colored and dreamlike universe, made of a mix of pieces of memories, emotions and feelings." Colored and dreamlike. Emotions and feelings. Gratuitous apostrophes.
Actually, I believe the individual prices on the Bullfrog games of $1.49 is 75% off, so you need not buy them all. EDIT: Nevermind. You are right. If you uncheck even one game, the individual price goes up. Sneaky, those GoGsters. How could I have doubted Creole Ned?
Gamefly has the PC download version of Anno 2070 for $20. Doesn't seem to go on sale very often. http://www.gamefly.com/Download-Anno-2070/5000338/
I was interested until I got lost reading this: Sigh, couldn't they just let me activate the stupid thing on Steam? Pass.
Gamefly has expanded its End of the World sale to the following titles: Amnesia: The Dark Descent $4.99 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare $9.99 Civilization IV $4.99 Far Cry $2.49 Half-Life $2.49 BioShock $4.99 Deus Ex: Human Revolution $4.99 Company of Heroes Complete - Campaign Edition (Mac) $7.49 Sleeping Dogs Digital Edition $16.99 Anno 2070 $19.99 Deus Ex Human Revolution – Ultimate Edition (Mac) $19.99 Defense Grid: UltraBundle $5.43 Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare $7.49 Company of Heroes Gold $7.49 Rome: Total War $2.49
Even on Steam it comes with prohibitive DRM. It's why I still haven't bought it (and looks like I never will).
GMG has King Arthur II for $2.49 (use vouchers to get it cheaper) http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/us/en/pc/games/rpgs/king-arthur-ii/ I'll add it to my backlog at that price.
GamersGate's four daily deals for December 13th are: Two Worlds II GOTY Edition $8.98 (70% off). I have nothing to say about this. Tomb Raider Underworld $4.49 (70% off). More like Tomb Raider Underwear, amirite?! King's Bounty Crossworlds $4.99 (75% off). Actually, this probably takes the underwear title, given the box art. Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit $5.08 (66% off). "Hell Yeah! is a crazy action-adventure platformer. In Hell." Like so:
Is it really to the point where people won't buy a bargain if it isn't on Steam? Does TW2 even have achievements or multiplayer? What's the loss to not buying it on Steam?
Got me, I just link all my games through Steam anyway so it's my one-stop game launcher. Feels the same regardless. :)
Yes, at least it's been at that point for me for a couple years now; since even before Direct2Drive and Impulse both started crapping all over themselves. Not a factor for me. Organization and peace of mind.
It does have support for Steam achievements and cloud saves and, uh, even leaderboards for something, according to the store page. But I imagine people mainly just want it there for easier patching (I remember there being some annoying patching issues early on with TW2), keeping all their games in one place, etc. I've got games scattered across a half-dozen different services now, and it does occasionally get annoying trying to remember which one has which game.
