The Ubisoft store has PC download versions of Far Cry 3 and Ass Creed 3 for $37.49 each. http://shop.ubi.com/store/ubina/en_...3200/productID.252068500/productID.230516800/ Tempted to jump on the Far Cry 3 deal, since I doubt it'll be part of the Steam sale.
so GMG has Sleeping Dogs for $16.99 minus the 30% coupon, and either $4 cash back or $6 store credit. Thats like $6 if you choose the store credit option.
Dark Souls is $14.99 on amazon at the moment: http://www.amazon.com/Dark-Souls-Prepare-Edition-Online/dp/B00917DBUE This is a Steam game. There's a rumor floating around on Neogaf that it will go on sale for $17.99 in January, at which point you can use a $5 voucher to make it even cheaper. I'm not sure if it will get cheaper in the Steam sale, so this might be a good deal to jump on.
GamersGate's daily deals for December 23: Gothic 3 Gold Edition $3.74 (75% off). The controls are still Tin Edition. Frozen Hearth $6.78 (66% off). An RTS with RPG elements in a 'dark fantasy' world of dark fantasy. Elements of War $4.99 (75% off). What the search for the elemental materials ultimately leads to. Alan Wake's American Nightmare $3.75 (75% off). This has always sounded like a PBS series to me. Viking Battle for Asgard $4.49 (70% off). Vikings, the new zombies! (not really) And several repeats, including Agricultural Simulator 2012. Look at those beautifully rendered tractors! You know you want to drive one!
gog.com's daily offering for December 23 is the complete Ultima series for $8.94 (75% off). This includes Ultima 1-9 plus Ultima Underworld I and II. Still a good deal even if you stop at Ultima VII (and you probably should).
Yes, but a good deal for utter n00bs to the series who balk at installing 5+ mods? I'm interested, but intimidated.
Others could probably answer better but I'll say this: while the Ultima games can be tough and unforgiving, some of that is alleviated by FAQs and walkthroughs that weren't easily available when the games were new a hundred years ago. Mods can be nice but are not strictly required. Ultima IV is free and generally well-regarded. You can use that as a rough demo of the early games (I-V) and see if it floats your boat. And there are boats!
It's still not too late to get in on the ground floor with GamersGate's IndieFort Countdown Bundles here! The Liftoff Bundle is $4.00 and contains War of the Human Tanks, Will Fight for Food, Zafehouse: Diaries, and Zombie Shooter 2, and more games will be added as sales increase. In case anybody's interested, I'm currently running an LP of Zafehouse: Diaries here if you'd like to take a look at it before getting the bundle.
Alan Wake's American Nightmare for $1.88 at Gamersgate: http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-AWAN/al...ican-nightmare
Missed The Walking Dead during Steam's community choice or flash sale? Fret not, you can grab it today on GamersGate. What's more, you're saving $0.01 compared to buying it on Steam! Savings! Yes, it activates on Steam.
The deal on Alan Wake's American Nightmare has apparently ended or it's become a Canadian nightmare, as it's listed at $14.99 now. But the following Gamersgate deals are available for December 24th: Torchlight $3.74 (75% off) Homefront Ultimate Edition $6.24 (75% off). Includes two map packs, shotgun DLC and one implausible story. Hotline Miami $4.98 (50% off) The Walking Dead $12.48 (50% off). As Royal Fool notes, save a penny over Steam! Football Manager 2013 $26.76 (33% off). Buy this to finally see the rest of that guy's head. Metro 2033 $4.99 (75% off) Dawn of War II Gold Edition $7.49 (75% off) gog.com is offering a City Builder's Special for the next 24 hours or so. Six title for $10.94 (75% off) if you buy the bundle. Includes: Zeus + Poseidon Pharoah + Cleopatra Caesar 3 Lords of Magic: Special Edition Lords of the Ream 3 Lords of the Realm: Royal Edition
Scribblenauts Unlimited is $7.49 on Amazon. Now you can fulfill your childhood dream of watching a dinosaur eat a midget.
So how is the game? We have an "okay" from Adree and a what I assume is sarcastic "greatest game ever" from kerzain, and then everyone else just seems to talk about how their kids like it. Also, this deal pretty much confirmed that I won't be buying anything during the Steam Winter sale this year. All the really good deals seem to be elsewhere.
I want to hear more about this, actually, since the only reason I actually want to buy it is for my 7- and 5-year old nieces. The younger one won't be typing out words, but she could offer creative ideas, and if the game is actually good at letting kids just pop stuff into the world and see if it works and have fun even if they don't "solve" whatever puzzle there is... then that's good enough for me.
I appreciate it but... that's you saying you would have enjoyed it as a kid, not that your kids actually enjoyed it.
You aren't buying it for my kids, so who cares? It's just feedback. It has a vast object dictionary, and accepts probably any additional adjective/descriptor a five or seven year old could think of to spruce those objects up (the seven year old will be doing the heavy lifting no doubt). So many of the puzzles will be easy enough that even if the kids can't solve all of them, they'll undoubtedly do well enough to progress enough to get $7 of fun out of it. Even if they aren't trying to solve the puzzles specifically, they'll be able to summon pretty much anything they can think of, as long as they're able to make the distinction between forbidden trademarked products, characters, etc, and every day allowable items. If they try to summon Elmo or Batman or something there could be problems, unless they have an adult around to first supplement the object dictionary with any of the additional millions of Steam Workshop characters/items.
So Amazon sent me a bunch of emails this morning. One for every electronic purchase I made of an EA or THQ game over the past year. Each email comes with a code that entitles me to $5 off of any EA or THQ electronic purchase of at least $4.99 tomorrow only. Donno if anyone else got these weird emails, but ... here's hoping something is only five bucks tomorrow, cos I really can't think of many THQ or EA games I want to pay for at the moment.
EA Games Deal of a Lifetime: Hogwart's Hall Pass - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1&2 only $4.79 Features Include: Play as Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Seamus, Neville, Molly Weasley and Professor McGonagall Experience the stunning environments of Hogwarts as you've never seen it before. The wand is the ultimate weapon - Hold nothing back! Fight Voldemort's minions! No other Harry Potter game has had this level of action! Use the Polyjuice Potion and Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder. Powerful potions - Find potions that can be used to attack, escape, restore health or increase your luck.
The 30% off code on GMG front page works on Borderlands 2's season pass last I checked. According to the price listed in the Steam thread, it makes it cheaper than the current Steam deal. Edit: Originally posted in the Steam thread accidentally.
If Amazon.com sent you a $5 off credit towards any THQ game you are in luck today as they are still offering sale prices on a lot of things. If you missed out on any of the many deals on Saints Row the Third you can buy the Full Experience Pack (game plus all DLC) for $2.49 after code. If you missed out on the $10 THQ Medley pack earlier this season (Metro 2033, Homefront, Space Marine, STALKER and two Red Faction Games) it's $5 after code. Darksiders 2 is $11.49 after code and the season pass is $1.59 after code. Warhammer Dawn of War 2 and Chaos Rising are each $5 after code. There are many other deals on games that come to $5-$10 after code as well, follow the link in your email to see them all. Most surprisingly, though I suppose you're taking a small gamble given THQ's current state, both South Park The Stick of Truth and Metro Last Light pre-orders are $40 after code, a 33% savings over list price. In other news that will come as a surprise to exactly no one, the $5 EA credits are pretty much worthless as the prices on just about all EA games shot right back up to full retail this morning. There are several discounted SIMS expansions and a few 10 year old games marked down so if the $5 credit is really burning a hole in your pocket I suppose you could use it on one of them, but nothing of any substance is a bargain even with the code.
GamersGate is offering the following deals for Christmas Day (a few are holdovers): Anno 2070 $16.49 (70% off). I think this is the cheapest it's been. Possibly. Medieval Total War 2 Collection $2.49 (75% off). Includes expansion, bringing the war total to 110%. Saints Row 2 $3.74 (75% off). Buggy but lovable, like a family dog with ticks. Cities XL 2012 $9.99 (75% off). Also known as Cities Size Enhanced 2012. Sniper Elite $12.50 (75% off). Holdover. King Arthur Collection $4.99 (75% off). Requires Steamworks. Awesomenauts $3.39 (66% off). Like astronauts but awesome. Condemned: Criminal Origins $3.74 (75% off). Still with exclusive Autopsy smartphone app.

Crusader Kings 2 Collection is $6.25 on GamerGate. The end of year reminiscing on various web sites and podcasts has convinced me to get this one.
There are 2 versions of CK2: the one that activates on steam, and the Gamersgate version with no DRM whatsoever. Just in case you need steam.
Pogo, my three year old and five year old love Scribblenauts in all its forms. We just started playing Unlimited on the Wii U last week, and it's basically the same formula with a narrative stringing things together instead of just level select screens. The added ability to mess with the items will no doubt give them hours of entertainment. You can make a dinosaur eat a midget, but I think (haven't played enough yet to be sure) you can also make a midget with a dinosaur head...which...yeah. You can freeform play however you want in the open areas, but you have to solve the star things to move the narrative along. That's pretty open to interpretation too, since you can solve a broken down car puzzle by hitching it to an elephant, saddling up the elephant, and riding it away.
GamersGate's daily deals for December 26th are: Titan Quest Gold Edition $4.99 (75% off). Read all the dialog in Immortal Throne and make Dean happy! (he wrote it) Dead Block $1.99 (80% off). An action game described thusly: In the ‘50s Rock’n’Roll music was spawned straight from hell and was so evil that it turned dead people into Zombies! Dungeons Gold Edition $5.99 (80% off). Includes the sequel and two DLC packs. Commander: Conquest of the Americas $1.25 (75% off). The smallpox simulator. Supreme Commander 2 $3.75 (75% off). Requires Steam works. Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY Edition $4.99 (75% off). See if Batman can defeat Games for Windows Live (required for multiplayer). Speaking of dungeons, gog.com's 24 hour deal is for Dungeons & Dragons. Buy the whole bundle for $21.41 and save 75% off (50% off otherwise). Includes: Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga Baldur's Gate 2 Complete Planescape Torment Icewind Dale Complete Icewind Dale 2 Complete Dungeons & Dragons: Dragonshard The Temple of Elemental Evil Neverwinter Nights: Diamond Edition Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone
Mass Effect 3 PC £5.24 with code GMG30-DPLIM-DN831 Eidt: there are actually 5 pages of sales: http://www.greenmangaming.com/hot-deals/
I always forget about GMG. They have a 24 hour deal on Scribblenauts Unlimited for $14.99 (50% off). I think it's for North America only. Mass Effect 3 appears to be $29.99 (50% off) on this side of the pond.
