There is no nut-kicking in GamersGate's Daily Deal for February 2, though there are scantily-dressed women (in the game art) because you know how much easier it is to use magic when you're mostly naked. SpellForce 2 Faith in Destiny Deluxe Digital Edition is $6.25 (75% off) and requires Steam. I think this woman may be related to the DMC guy: "I am also so totally cool and badass." GMG is offering the Alien Breed Trilogy requires Steam and is going for $5.73 (75% off). To my knowledge everyone is fully clothed in this game except the aliens. If alien nudity offends you, consider this your warning. GMG also has Swords and Soldiers for $2.49 (75% off). This side-scrolling strategy game lets you play as 'brutal Vikings, the devious Aztecs or the crafty Chinese'. Requires Steam. As always, the rest of GMG's deals can be found on their Hot Deals page.
The Steam Daily Deal for February 2 is Bastion for $3.74 (75% off). The soundtrack edition is $6.24. Now go outside, it's the weekend! Note: If the outside is cold and/or wet where you live, you may stay inside and pretend to go outside by playing something like Skyrim.
*Offer also valid if it is 38 degrees Celsius / 100 Fahrenheit outside and the snowy mountains of Skyrim look very appealing.
Daily deals for Superbowl Sunday (somehow I managed to completely avoid the hype and didn't even know who was playing until today. I didn't think that was possible short of being Amish or stranded on a desert island): GamersGate: Death Rally $2.49 (75% off). It's like football except with cars and death. Steam: Super Meat Boy $3.75 (75% off). This is violent, like football. Also they couldn't put The Binding of Isaac on sale again just yet. GMG: Hitman: Absolution is 66% off until 4 p.m. GMT Monday. However it still shows as $49.99 for me so who knows what's really happening. It's like trying to figure out if people are lip-syncing during the Superbowl half-time show.
There were at least two nuts (figuratively) kicked. I was foolish enough to pay $39.99 for Hitman HD Trilogy. Not that it's not worth that necessarily, but damn! Three days later it's $15 off? Blarg.
I'm late thanks to an illness in the family (specifically: me) but here's a clutch of daily deals and more for February 4: Steam: Half Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Ultimate Boy $3.39 (66% off). Enemy encounter ! GamersGate: Space Marine $7.49 (75% off). Requires Steam. No longer requires THQ. GMG: Bulletstorm $4.99 (75% off). Features 'the circle of awesome' and colorful turns of phrase involving male anatomy. Origin is required to activate this, which may produce a few colorful turns of phrase itself. GMG is offering a midweek deal on assorted EA titles with up to 75% off. A few highlights: Mass Effect Trilogy $29.99 Dragon Age II $9.99 Dead Space 2 $4.99 Other features games include various Sims 3 titles, Need For Speed games and more.
Day 2 of bargains with my sickly germs all over them. Please wash your games before handling them. Steam Midweek Madness: #1: The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition is $9.99 (50% off) or you can get the less fancy earlier game The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut for $4.99 (50% off). EDIT: Until 11:59 a.m. GMT February 8th, gog.com is offering the original The Witcher for $4.99 (50% off) and The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition for $14.99 (50% off) if you prefer to buy from there (and pay more, which would make you a bit silly). #2: 75% off every variation of Alan Wake, including the base game for $7.49 or everything for $9.99. If you just want his Nightmare, it's $3.74. Steam Daily Deal for February 5 is Rayman Origins for $10.19 (66% off). This is a indie platformer. GamersGate's Daily Deal is Jurassic Park: The Game for $7.49 (75% off). Terrorize and eat innocent people as the intimidating thunder lizard of yore! Oh wait, you play the innocent people. Never mind.
Particularly because you can register any and every copy of Witcher 2 on gog for a free backup. So buy it from Steam AND register it on gog.com http://www.gog.com/witcher2/backup
Steam Daily Deal for February 6 is Street Fighter X Tekken for $16.99 (66% off). "Dear god, my back!" And in the 'not even trying anymore' department, GamersGate's Daily Deal is Alan Wake's American Nightmare for $3.74 (75% off), which is also one of Steam's current midweek deals (at the same price). The GG version requires Steam. Gamefly is offering up to 75% off various Bohemia Interactive games until 11:59 p.m. PST February 7th: ArmA II $19.99 $9.99 ArmA II: Combined Operations $29.99 $14.99 ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead $19.99 $9.99 Take on Helicopters $29.99 $7.49 Take on Helicopters + Hinds DLC Bundle $37.99 $9.50 Take On Helicopters: Hinds $11.99 $2.99
Steam Weekend Deals are out and aboot: #1: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive $7.49 (50% off). Updated version of the classic manshooter that challenges you to shoot burning houses. "You are not authorized to burn down this house. Put down your weapon. And matches." #2: Borderlands 2 $29.99 (50% off). Popular co-op manshooter sequel. The 4-pack is $89.99 (about $22.50 per copy). Note: the copious DLC is not on sale. Daily and other deals: Steam: Tower Wars $3.99 (50% off) or Tower Wars Friend Pack $6.99, which includes two copies of the game. Recently added co-op support but has a tepid 59/100 metacritic score. Cartoony tower defense thinger. GamersGate: Hotline Miami $4.98 (50% off). Think of it as 8-bit Tarantino. Also on sale is Stealth Bastard Deluxe for $5.00 (50% off). The self-described 'tactical espionage arsehole' is an indie platformer that combines stealth with fast action. Think of it as 8-bit Splinter Cell. On speed. GMG continues to offer 20% off Dragonborn ($15.99), the latest DLC for Skyrim, while Skyrim itself is $39.99 (33% off). More into worms than dragons? Worms Revolution is currently $7.49 (50% off).
Borderlands 2 4 pack is only 90 dollars, instead of 120. That's even better. How easy is it to go in on a 4 pack? I wouldn't mind getting that game for. 22.50 (how's my maths?).
Origin is celebrating the 13th anniversary of The Sims by offering a pile o' Sims 3 expansions for $10 each. This is a 24 hour sale that ends at 8:59 p.m. PST on February 8th.
Aahhhh even the base game is $10! Fuck, it's through Origin though. AHHHH CONFLICTING FEELINGS. I already own Sims 3... but I have lost one of the discs, and thus have no way to put it on this machine at the moment. FUCK.
Hmm, I have not tried that. I'd much rather do it through Steam, but I've heard that it's not possible to do with physical media. I'll look into it. NEVERMIND Sims 3 is only one disc. Which I have. Awesome. Still to be located: Sims 2 base game, Sims Complete Collection Disc 1 of 4.
Sims is an EA game and EA games don't register on Steam as a rule, because EA has to have some reason to make people use Origin.
I wonder if I send EA pictures of the other three discs and the proof of purchase and the booklet with the CD key if they'll send me the first disc to Complete Collection. Probably not. Unfortunately, I'm 80% sure that I've registered some of my games with EA in the past (pre-Origin), but I have no flipping idea what that login info would even be, or which games I have/haven't registered. ETA: No, you can't register physical games with Origin.
The Sims is a bit different for some reason; my expansions wouldn't register through Origin, but if I went to thesims3.com and registered them with my account there (the same EA account), then they show up in Origin. Can't remember if it was the same with the base game, but I do have it registered on Origin despite being a retail copy.
Well, thesims3.com let me register the game again even though I'm pretty sure I already have done so in the past, which may be evident in my not getting the $10 worth of simpoints it promised me. BOO. I've been poking around for answers to Complete Collection and it appears there's no legitimate resolution beyond "buy the game again." Bummer. Anywho, thanks for the tips, all.
It's a classic! And I still remember all the cheats! It's also the only version I have all expansions for. I only have two expansions for 2 and none for 3.
EA has this link on registering older games on Origin. I'll copy 'n paste the relevant text below: 2. Crysis (+ Crysis - Warhead) Battlefield 2 Battlefield 2142 Spore The Sims 2 Command and Conquer In order to register these titles you will need to contact us, either through Chat, Phone or Email. One of our Game Advisors will redeem the game code for you. 3. GAMES THAT CANNOT BE REDEEMED IN ORIGIN Additionally, some older games cannot be registered in Origin at this time. I spend hours just building houses. Who needs to play the game when you can just decorate EVERYTHING? BOO. ETA: Tried it anyway. Says the product code is already being used. FFFFUUUUU---
I was tempted to pick up the Pets expansion for The Sims 3 but the page for it on Origin gives you this as the header image: Now I am afraid. Afraid of everything.

Until February 12th use GMG25-T6JV8-1NPBA to get 25% off a select list of pre-order titles including the Aliens: Colonial Marines Season Pass (on top of an existing 10% discount) and Dead Island: Riptide.
This is one of those titles that's stingy with its sale price. Even though this is the lowest for which I can remember it being offered anywhere, for a title that was released nearly a year ago, it's never hit the $5 mark. Resistance is futile!
Actually, it's the Aliens: Colonial Marines Season Pass that has the 25% discount on it, not the game proper.
Yeah, I'd already mentioned the deal for A:CM in a previous post but neglected to state the other deal was for the 'season pass' which will include DLC like Aliens: Colonial Marines in Different Colored Uniforms, Aliens: Colonial Marines Aliens Quip Pack (the 'Game Over, Man' pack) and Aliens: Colonial Marines vs. Tekken vs. Street Fighter. Fixed.

A few highlights: Tropico 4 $7.49 (75% off) Jagged Alliance: Back in Action $9.99 (75% off) Sine Mora $4.99 (40% off)
I'm aware of the details of at least one common problem, specifically: the SecuROM activation doesn't stick and, as a result, you have to activate it each time you start the game. This would be okay, if annoying, except that you're limited to ten activations, the end result being that you get to launch the game ten times before you're locked out forever.
I really don't understand why a game that uses both Steam and GFWL would also require SecuROM. Batman FAIL!
Perhaps in response to other sites, Steam announced today that it is beginning week-long deals on select titles up to 75% off. Hopefully you'll be able to actually play them more than 10 times each. The starting batch which are on sale until February 18th: Flatout $1.87 (75% off). Cheap racing. Steel Storm: Burning Retribution $2.49 (50% off). I know I've made this joke before but seriously, brought to you by 'name pulled from a blender'. Alpha Prime $1.25 (75% off). 'Miners were warned that the hubbardium they were mining was too dangerous' but did they listen? No! Experience the consequences in this SF manshooter in which I can pretty much guarantee hubbardium is the cleverest thing about it. Karateka $4.99 (50% off). Remake of the beloved 80s computer game. No word on whether Mariko can sucker-punch the hero at the end like in the original.
