Okay, I keep checking this thread. I may have a problem. This problem cannot be solved by purchasing any of the following: Steam's Daily Deal for February 22 is Guns of Icarus Online for $6.79 (66% off) or the 4-pack for $15.63. This is multiplayer only so you may find the single player lacking. I mean that literally. gog.com is having an Apogee Action Weekend with 60% off Apogee games. Each game is $2.39. I can recommend both Duke 3D and Shadow Warrior if you can get past the horrible characters you play as. The level design of each is pretty creative for a non-3D engine. Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold Blake Stone: Planet Strike Duke Nukem 1+2 Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project Rise of the Triad: Dark War Shadow Warrior Complete Terminal Velocity EDIT #1: GamersGate's EA deal today is 70-75% off Battlefield titles: Battlefield 2 Complete Collection $4.99 Battlefield Bad Company 2 - Ultimate Digital Collection $4.99 Battlefield 3 $9.99 EA deciding to shut down the servers for these games FREE Another GG Daily Deal today (expiring in about nine hours) is The Witcher 2 Enhanced Editionfor $6.78 (66% off). This is now officially one of those 'you are crazy if you pay full price for it' games. EDIT #2: Gamefly is having a LEGO Weekend Deal with 75% off select LEGO titles. One might refer to these as BLOCKbuster savings (ho ho): LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 $4.99 LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes $7.49 LEGO Batman: The Videogame $4.99 LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 $4.99 LEGO: The Lord of the Rings $7.49
Day 3 of me failing to stop doing this. I think part of this is due to seeing some interesting deals but mostly the the top hat is too tight. GamersGate's Daily Deal for February 23 is the Train Simulator 2013 Pack for $31.49 (55% off). You may think this is a mite expensive and wonder what you get for shelling out over $30. You're in luck because what you get is listed right below! Train Simulator 2013. Drive with an Xbox 360 controller. Vibrate mode never turns off. West Coast Main Line North Add-On. Over 100 miles of new rail line. Think of the derail possibilities. GG's EA deal today are the following Need for Speed games: Need for Speed The Run $4.99 (75% off) Need for Speed Ultimate Digital Collection $8.99 (70% off) Need for Speed Most Wanted $24.98 (50% off) Like GG, Origin is also offering up to 75% off Battlefield games until February 27. A few selections: Battlefield 2 Complete Collection $4.99 Battlefield 2142 Deluxe Edition $4.99 Battlefield 3 $9.99 All of the shortcut unlocks are on sale, too, though the discount is not as generous because cheaters must pay. Steam Daily Deal for February 23 is Toy Soldiers for $3.39 (66% off). This adaptation of the Xbox Live Arcade game includes all of the Xbox DLC. You have to like this action/strategy game -- it has blimps!
What better way to spend a lazy Sunday than by adding to your backlog? The Steam Daily Deal for February 24 is the Unreal Deal Pack for $13.59 (66% off). The individual titles are also 66% off: Unreal Gold $3.39. This holds up okay if you can get past the 20 hours of padding. Er. Includes the expansion. Unreal Tournament GOTY Edition $3.39. Ah, the glory days of UT vs. Quake 3. Unreal Tournament 2004 Editor's Choice Edition $5.09. The "includes everything" version of UT. Still looks and plays fine, considering its age. Unreal Tournament 3 Black $6.79. The sad misfire that killed the series. Unreal 2: The Awakening $5.09. The sad misfire that didn't kill the series. Actually, it's not bad, it just has very little to do with Unreal. I started doing an LP of this years ago (before I knew what LPs were) in the form of comic strip panels but lost my work in some hard drive switchover. Sad all around. GamersGate's Daily Deal is Game of Thrones for $25 (50% off). Get hands-on with your favorite character dying. Green Man Gaming has a deal where if you pre-order Bioshock Infinite you get immediate access to two additional games, the original Bioshock and one of Spec Ops: The Line , Civilization V, BioShock 2, Mafia II or The Darkness II. You also get a $15 GMG credit or 25% off depending on your region.
I don't see the bit about getting $15 GMG credit anywhere, just the rest of the offer which is pretty darn good as it is. Am I blind or is that credit for US only? (I'm probably blind and not seeing it)
It's easy to glance over as it's in the middle of the spiel: Your eyes are not deceiving you! You get 2 free games INSTANTLY (yes, straight away!) when you pre-purchase BioShock Infinite from Green Man Gaming. No need to work too hard to unlock offers - we're all about instant gratification! Pre-purchase BioShock Infinite now and you will get $15 GMG Credit and also immediately get the original BioShock game free plus one of the following games* free
Some highlights from Gamersgate: Supreme Commander 1 - $3.75 Supreme Commander 1: Forged Alliance - $3.75 Bundle containing the above two - $6.00 Both games activate on Steam.
GamersGate is offering a SimCity Midweek Deal. I was hoping SimCity 3000 would magically appear but alas, no. Instead you can choose from: SimCity Limited Edition (Pre Order) $59.95 (10% back in bluecoins™® + bonus Heroes & Villains set) SimCity Societies Ultimate Digital Collection $7.48 (75% off). The consensus was the included expansion makes this tolerable. SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition $4.98 (75% off). Includes the Rush Hour expansion. Speaking of rush hour, the Daily Deal for February 25 is Ridge Racer Unbounded Full Pack for $13.99 (60% off). This includes all four DLC packs. gog.com has The Incredible Machine Mega Pack up as its 24 hour deal. It's $2.79 (60% off) and comes with a hojillion levels. Good through 10:59 a.m. GMT on February 26. Today is also the last day you can get cheap World of Warcraft stuff.
It seems weird but I would totally buy a copy of SC3000 just to load up my really old city that I still have laying around somewhere in my directories full of decade-old stuff.
I probably put more time into SC2000 than any other SimCity but there was something about SC3000 I found immensely charming. Maybe I was just relieved not having to deal with sewer pipes anymore. I'm still puzzled that it's not available through Steam or some other online store. Speaking of Steam (cue official Bargain Thread Segue Theme), today's Steam Daily Deal is Ys Origin for $7.99 (60% off). The first part of the game is figuring out how to pronounce its name.
I admit it. I bought SC4 today because I know I'll probably never have the newest one and I can't get SnapCity to work. Also I forgot how horrible SC2000's music was, yuck.
Gamefly is offering a variation on GMG's Bioshock Infinite deal. Pre-order Bioshock Infinite and get Bioshock and Bioshock 2 free*, a $5 credit toward any other 2K game and the "Industrial Revolution Pack" which includes three gear items, 500 bonus in-game currency, five lock picks as well as the Industrial Revolution puzzle game. I have no idea what gear items are or what the in-game currency is used for, though the fact that you get a bonus 500 suggests 2K will happily sell you more. Maybe to buy more lock picks if you use the five the pack comes with. * this seems like a good deal but who would buy the third game in a series without playing the others first? The same people who went to see Return of the Jedi without seeing the previous two Star Wars movies, that's who. Weird people.
They are hiding the complete pack I also found Risen 2 Dork Warters for less than 15 with all the DLC

Thanks Ned, I have been waiting for a good sale on Fallen Enchantress to try it out, and that price hits the right spot.
Looks like the rebate is actually for a $10 Newegg card. So if I never buy from Newegg otherwise, these aren't as free as I might like. Unless... ANYONE WANNA BUY $40 IN NEWEGG CARDS FOR ... I donno ... $40?!
Those are some great XBL Games on Demand prices. I'm hoping Microsoft is testing Steam-like sales for the new xbox. If they do that, fuck used games.
Let's say I've never played a Halo game before, because I haven't. What's a good one to start with? Halo: Reach?
If you don't care about playing multiplayer Reach is my favorite Halo game. It tells a self-contained story (that admittedly doesn't make much sense) that sets up Halo CE and has the most refined "combat puzzle" gameplay in the franchise. If you want to play online you'll need to get Halo 4 though.
Somebody is copying someone! Steam's first Midweek Madness deal is the suspiciously familiar Fallen Enchantress for $13.59 (66% off). #2 is FORGE for $6.79 (66% off). Get the 4-pack, which I shall clever call the FOURGE PACK for $20.39. The Steam Daily Deal for February 26 is L.A. Noire for $4.99 or $7.49 with all DLC. Each is 75% off and will make you feel cool for wearing a fedora.
I'm thrilled to see MS stepping up and doing a legitimate sale with its On Demand games. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on what they offer this week. I hope it's hugely successful so that we see more of it. MS's On Demand offerings have always been a joke with prices well in excess of retail on all of the catalog stuff. I've never considered buying a digital version of any non-Arcade title on the 360.
Ehhhhh... Eduardo X has claimed it. I enjoyed it but I wouldn't go in expecting to get much more than $7 out of it.
I bought this thing even though after the trial I felt that it wasn't nearly as good as it should have been. The principle behind being able to design ships and observe the data from battles really appeals to me, but design flexibility is crippled by the way your modules and requirements stack together, and the quality of the end-of-battle statistics you get is inexplicably poor--so poor that it's hard to actually tell what worked and what didn't. Plus, the order programming interface is extremely clumsy and if there's a way to save default behavior to different ship designs, I haven't found it, forcing a number of restarts when I forgot to change the default engagement range on a cruiser I equipped with short-range weapons, resulting in it sitting at range 800 and never firing while the enemy chipped it to death with missiles.
