There is only one Big Game but (due to the Pac10 becoming the Pac12, I guess?) it's not in its proper week. I can't wrap my head around an October Big Game. GO BEARS! BEAT THE CARDINAL! P.S. I would enjoy getting together but we are just a bit far away for a casual jaunt to the Bay Area, and even more so to San Jose. Have fun!
Anyone who can is still invited to San Jose tomorrow night. Hours are roughly "five to oblivion." PM me for address. :)
ARISE THREAD! In celebration of the end of the pile of crap that was 2012, the fact that MulMizu is finally making it to the Bay Area, and Alligator leaving us for colder pastures, we are planning A SHEBANG. It'll be the weekend of the 29th, probably in San Jose because honestly I'm not up for much moving. (And, this is assuming I don't end up in surgery that weekend. I'm trying.) I realize this is a little late to plan New Year's Eve, but anyone who's not already committed and can make it down our way...please respond? :) If Aaron and I host, we have plenty of room and there'll be plenty of food. Guests will mostly be responsible for booze, having a good time, and showing me how to stream the fireworks on our giant and not-hooked-up TV. We'll try to keep this low-key. Come celebrate!
R U SRS BECAUSE THIS IS THE BEST THING I HAVE HEARD ALL DAY seriously I have had the shittiest fucking day today homg I AM BRINGING SO MANY BAKED GOODS YOU GUYS
Speak with Bread will never lack for conversation. I'd like to make it this time but I'll have to see what the date is first.
Saturday the 29th will be the main festivities. We may be extending the party to the 30th as well, depending on local folks' schedules and how hung over everyone is Sunday morning.
Not at all. *I* am the worst when it comes to planning things. ...can I invite you folks over anyway for baked goods and board games some other time?
I'm pretty sure I am worse than you at planning things! At least you actually plan things. Baked goods and board games would be fun, after all the holidays are over (as we are going to be going up to visit the Ingmar parents for New Year's ... so busy!). Or maybe once you are feeling better, we could take you crazy kids out to dinner. Because we like doing that. Because we hate cooking. But love eating.
Where is this Bay Area? ETA: Oh oh right whoops. So um, bit far for us but here's wishing you guys arl the fun~! YOU MUST PICTURES, ALSO.
Wot she said. I really wish I could make it to the festivities... there seems to be far too few BF'ers in the Upper Midwest to do a proper meetup, so...
I'll be there on the 29th. I have something happening the evening of the 30th, but I might be able to do morning stuff if there is any.
There is a slight chance I'll be either in Pennsylvania or flying back this weekend, so if I'm not here to host, Aaron will take care of the whole shebang. (I'm desperately trying to schedule around it.) Either way, A SHEBANG THERE SHALL BE.
I'll also be bringing the rad wines that shift6 gave me when I stayed overnight at his place. So that's one Moscato and one mead.
Okay, so I'm missing this entire thing after all. BUT. There will still be a party, and MulMizu and Alligator, just PM me your phone numbers or something so we can chat before I don't see you again. <3 AaronSofaer is hereby taking over the organizing of this thing, so PM him rather than me.
Am I the only one who keeps reading this as "BF'ers of the Day" and wondering how I can get to be "BF'er of the Day" and whether there's a prize? Just me, then?
As tempting as it is to attend, I am going to be crunching through final exam grading that entire weekend. I hope you all have fun!
