I'm running a new league over at f13. Rules and such are in the signup thread. There are a few BFers who also hang out on f13 too so there is already some crossover - myself, Sjofn, and Ingmar are the ones who come to mind immediately. The playerbase is pretty global so be prepared to wrangle timezones.

Existing teams can be brought in as long as they adhere to a TV limit and don't look like they have been farmed. We had 25 players last season and 32 for every season before that.

My nipples explode with delight at the prospect of a new IainC skaven team.

Hmm. I'd like to bring my Chaos team from the qt3 open league over, except I'm pretty sure they "look farmed" thanks to a few games with Therlun that lasted all of five turns (if you've never had the pleasure of causing consecutive ragequits, I highly recommend the experience).

I think I have a dwarf team I could stand to try out.

The standard for "look farmed" is more like "hey this team has 8 +str levelups" I suspect.

Actually, I think the preliminary draft of the next set of rules has "played game with Therlun "as farming in and of itself, right next to "Played against Lizard_King 's Lizards " and "Drove over the blood stain of Reldan 's vampires". However, "Got Staff Sergeant To Feign Real Life Problems In Order To Ragequit Mid-season" is still squarely in the realm of fair play.

Maybe if you wouldn't mercilessly slaughter newbie players who decided to play underpowered Skaven it would be easier to get players for different leagues. My poor, poor Skaven...

Very tempted to play, but I'm worried that I can't keep up with the time commitment -- especially in April when I'm travelling for about 13 days over the course of the month.

I'd consider it, but since it requires uploading to BBM (which has not worked at all for me in around a year) I don't know that I can.

Oh, yeah, I hadn't read the rules that carefully and am in the same boat. Or I was; I don't believe I've played Bloodbowl or used BBM since I replaced my previous laptop, so maybe it'll work now. Guess I can test that when I get home.

I am pretty sure if you ask the other person nicely, they'll upload to BBM for you? IainC uploaded for me after the first time I kicked his ass, for example. <3

Very tempting... though I don't have any teams that fit the under 1400 limit except a Human team I'm not sure I have any desire to play.

Hrm, I do have a Skaven team that's close. It's my first team that I played in Naggaroth (the reverse of farming. ouch!) aeons ago, which would have a certain Nostalgia despite lacking a naming scheme.

I'd have to cut some players to be under the limit though; is that allowed? It's the Understone Raiders; I'd probably cut the injured players and then... I dunno, a reroll or one of the level 4 players. It did recently pickup some decent skillups, and perhaps you'd rather not sully your league with teams from an open league... Let me know.

If not I'll either go with my crappy Human team, or see if I can come up with another naming scheme (probably Lizards or Undead).


Oh, and /holy crap/ you have a 2610 TV Lizard team in the league? Yikes.

Cutting players to get under the limit is definitely allowed, so long as you have 11 left.

Trimming existing teams to come in under the starting weight is fine as long as they have at least 11 players on the roster afterwards. I don't care what the TV of your team is now, I care what it will be when you apply for the league.

Well, if I play ehm ecks, our game doesn't count, for example. There were a fair few of us here in the last leagues that couldn't get it to work.

Hrm. Or I might just trim the Pirats instead. They're not as good a team, but they at least have a naming scheme and some history. Is it alright if I come in at 1405 TV? ;-)

That's correct. They might have to manually fill in the player/team info, though, depending on the vagaries of BBM.

I apparently can't bring myself to trim the Pirats, so Understone Raiders it is! 1380 TV + 20k cash.

Though I'm a bit leery of having 2 Rerolls and no Rat Ogre...

We have around 8 slots left to get to 32, and I fully expect them to fill up eventually, so if you're on the fence, get your name on the list now.
