The old board had it's own movie club and I'm flabbergasted another hasn't formed here so far. So with that let's start one here. The Rules Every two weeks(?) we'll pick a new movie to watch and talk about. All genres and decades are encouraged to be explored. I'll be using the same Android app that Athryn uses to select the Book Club picker for our movie pickers. After the first pick I'll enter everyone who has participated in the various threads into a draw for the next selection. Finally, as always, the three primary rules (totally cribbed!): 1) No Complaining About Picks Even if someone picks Twilight. If you hate the movie and can't stand to discuss it, take a pass until next time. 2) Be familiar with the movie (aka: The "watch IT" decree) One of the goals of the club is to have discussions with folks who are familiar with the movie. That means even if you've watched it, you should watch it again before posting. 3) Entrance Requirement We have a special term that you need to include to receive club credit for participating: WATCHED IT. I'm in. Do you want us to suggest a movie right off? I think it's more fun to just pick a person and they pick a movie, without knowing what movie they are thinking of having us watch.
Also in. Movie Club was my last lingering nostalgia bit from old place; it got me to watch all sorts of things I wouldn't have discovered otherwise.
I'm also in, I guess? I'm a little lost in translation about the rules, but talking about movies fuck yeah! It'll also force me to keep up my moviewatching and watch some stuff I'd might otherwise skip.

On Monday I'll simply draw the name of one person who has expressed interest - which is ten of us so far. I'll contact that person by PM and they'll select first movie and create a thread for it. Rinse and repeat two weeks from then.
I intend to take this opportunity to impose my horrible taste in movies upon you all! I can't decide between Howard the Duck, Gigli or Batman and Robin, suggestions? *Don't worry I haven't actually decided on a movie yet.
My desire to keep up with the other one fell off after the trouble it took to chase down an ultimately disappointing suggestion for some movie about people driving trucks filled with dynamite. Let's see if this one does any better. TL;DR: IN!
I'll be selecting the next presenter this coming Monday. That will give that person a whole week to pick their movie.
