I'm sorry! It did! (I edited my first post; should have been clearer.) :) We played it tonight and won! Somehow.

It totally did, to the eventual cries of "Good lord, Aaron, is there any game in the world whose mechanics you won't bitch about!". MUCH fun was had. Thankyouthankyou; Ghost Stories is literally my favorite boardgame in the world!

And Nellie has transcended his previous level of Totally Awesome to whatever level comes beyond that. Time to make some wonderful has-been club loitering in the lower English divisions into international juggernauts!

Also, it's totally not true that I only play Dark Souls. Most weekends I load up Mass Effect 3 multiplayer and run through the Weekend Challenge! But that's on Origin.

You know, I don't know dwolfe at all (Did he migrate here?) but I'd love to give the guy the benefit of the doubt.

I was hoping that there'd be an aftermath where dwolfe got the evidence that customs switched the packages and he blew the whistle on their gift-stealing operation.

I enjoy the stalking part of the Secret Santa project almost as much as the gifting itself. Finding out things like me and VegasRobb having the same birthday, or having NO idea what to get Tortilla until I found a thread e where he griped about Quick Time Events (hence the "Press X To Not Die" shirt), to remembering the little detail that RSharp hadn't seen The Thing - this time of year makes me feel like there's no conversation here that's just trivial.

I was hoping for a legitimate issue like this back when it happened. But with the lack of any updates, at this point I'm simply applying Occam's razor.

Tracking information would tell one what a package weighed at the time of shipment.

It wouldn't be that difficult to weigh it at the time of receipt and see if the two figures differ any.

True, I'm sure that ship has sailed though.

Unless he was shipping helium, in which case all bets are off.

I'm behind on opening, Santa. I post liberally from work, but I'm also working end-of-the-year hours and just crash when I get home. Things should be wrapped tonight though. Or unwrapped, I suppose!

Since I like keeping people waiting, my gifts wont arrive until a couple of days before Christmas eve :3
Also, my dad called from Sweden saying that a massive package is waiting for me at home. Fearing the worst I'm obviously going to open it as soon as I get home on the 23rd.

I wish to apologize in advance to my Santee for my absolutely appalling gift-wrapping skills.

It's usually not that bad, but for some reason, this year they all turned out as if they'd been wrapped by an epileptic Zebra.

I blame the Curse.

Worse. The Curse of Meghan Bowyer.

I drafted both of her most-reviled football players in the Broken [Fantasy] Football League. Ergo, I am destined to fail at fantasy football.

As Meghan is also reputedly one of the best gift-wrappers in the world, I presume the curse extends beyond football and into other realms such as gift-wrapping.

My wife is a casual fan of football. She knows that she hates two people more than anyone else in the world: Ben Roethlisberger and Philip Rivers. My wife likes Omniscia -- she thinks he's an all right guy. My wife then found out that he drafted not one BUT BOTH of her least favorite players in the NFL in our fantasy football league. A Curse was then laid down upon him, rising from fires of her hate, that he would suffer endless torment until he was no longer associated with them. Omni's trade of Rivers partway through the season was not enough to put the spirits at rest.

So he didn't make the playoffs in the BFL, and lost to me in the first round of the Loser's Bracket (despite sweeping me earlier in the season, it wasn't enough to get him in the playoffs). Also, she's a great gift-wrapper, and apparently the curse also manifests itself there.

It's not the world's most effective curse, but hey, I take what I can get.

That is, of course, presuming that you are the generous individual from the Bay Area with the gorgeous, flowing penmanship who identified themselves simply as my Secret Santa.

Santee, I'm growing a little concerned that you haven't received your gift yet. (Or haven't posted about it, anyway.) Sadly, I can't track your package past the point it left the US. So, I know it was in Oak Creek, Wisconsin on December 6th! Since you're maybe fifteen hours from me by car, I'm not sure what the holdup is. Sorry, dude.
