Yeah I'm re-using the results from Week 16 I know I know SHOULD THE CONTEST EXTEND INTO THE PLAYOFFS; There are a few options I researched. Obviously, all of them necessitate wiping the slate clean. Of the options I saw, we can let people choose whichever team they want each week, only allow the usage of a team once, or let people choose whoever they want and pick against the spread. It seems to me the best option is the second, because it stays within the spirit of the suicide league. Thus: 1. Contestants may only pick a team ONCE in the playoffs during the Wild Card, Divisional, and Conference rounds. 2. Should the contest extend to the Superbowl, contestants may choose either team regardless of whether or not they picked the team during the playoffs. However, they must also choose a total points scored (sum of points scored by both teams) as the final tie-breaker. 3. If a contestant chooses the same team and total points as another contestant, that contestant will be asked to pick a different total points score (ie. whoever submits their guess first gets to keep their submission and all submissions must be different). How does that sound?
And they were right, remember this is the second time around. The first league imploded many weeks ago.
I think all 3 were a factor, but I wonder if it was more bad luck in round 1, good luck in round 2, or round 2 being easier since you have 5 weeks of data to work with already.
The first, what, 5-6 weeks of the season were straight out of the Bizarro Universe, though, weren't they?
It was really just the Cardinals beating the Patriots and annihilating suicide leagues across the land.
I was thinking about this yesterday, and I think that if you're going to do a second chance league is to make it a rule that you are not allowed to pick teams that you chose in the first round.
