That was a pretty obvious plot twist, in retrospect.

THAT'S WHY THEY'RE BOTH SHINOZAKI?!

Oh yeah about that last name thing... that's dumb. I realise that in real life it's not that uncommon for people to have the same last name... but this is a fictional story so of course people are gonna feel weird about that.

That's what bothered me. He's saved her life again, and again, and again, and again. He's kept her going when she couldn't bear it, when she was about to fall to pieces. He's hidden his own fear and suffering for her sake, to prop her up and help her in every way he could - and when he doesn't want to throw his life away in order to save the guy she loves, she unloads on him, calls him every name in the book. Did she ever even thank him for all the things he did for her? Or did she just take it for granted that of course he'd save her, and it wasn't even worth mentioning? Because I can't recall seeing a single moment in this LP where Ayumi shows him even the slightest shred of gratitude or thanks, as opposed to the many, many, many times she's gone off about her obsession with Satoshi.

That kind of blithe arrogance, the attitude that you don't have to thank people, because they somehow owe it to you to be there for you, to rescue you, and support you - I can't stand that. It makes me kind of despise her, and it has nothing to do with her not having a romantic interest in Yoshiki. That's entirely understandable. You don't owe somebody romantic affection, no matter what they do - it's not something you can 'earn' - but you damn sure owe them some thanks, gratitude, and praise after they save your damn fool life over and over and over again, at great personal risk.

Actually, Kizami DOES use "ore"... Just not when he's talking to Yuka. I'm guessing he does it to sound less aggressive/scary. He even used "ore" as a little kid!

About Ayumi... She does not have to love Yoshiki just because he's a good guy and he loves her, and yes, she's been through a lot. But she's kinda been treating him like shit through the entire game, even when he's saved her life and taken care of her. She should at least try to treat him better.

I think Ayumi is just a bit disoriented and hysterical and just all in all wasn't thinking straight. She just experienced being tortured to death, plot twists, being possessed again and again (once being forced to throw herself into the pool and perhaps drown herself), potentially having the one she likes and the rest of her good friends dying from mis-information which she has AND being confessed to by the last person she expected. Ayumi arguably went through more horrors than Broshiki and it's understandable that people sometimes act irrationally through fear and rage (cuz he didn't go with her to save her satoshi friends). I'm sure everyone has said things they didn't mean in tense situations and this is one of them for Ayumi. Yoshiki's thinking more clearly than Ayumi and acting less like an arrogant bitch for sure, but we have to take her experiencing an awful death just a few minutes before that encounter AND being possessed over and over again into account too.

Just for the record, my dislike of Ayumi has nothing to do with her friendzoning (a ridiculous term and one that usually is grossly misused) Yoshiki. It actually should come up pretty soon.

He's just been such a constant there with her that she kinda expects him to be there. It's not enough to make me hate her, but man is it infuriating.

This part is where I really started to get annoyed with Ayumi more than anything.

I think most of the thread would support that at this point.

To be fair, if he left -- even if it's just to run down to the cafeteria to steal everything -- that'd take several minutes.
He can't get back in there without the help of the ghost, who already established she fluctuates between kind and cruel. If he waited for such a long time, just ten minutes, she could very well switch back to cruel or just become unable to return him due to the fluctuating chaos of the pocket dimensions, if she's still there at all.

So, there's no time to get provisions. And he'd need something to carry them in if he wants enough, so add the time it takes to dig out a decently-sized backpack or bag...

English-speaking countries, mostly, I can't say from others since I don't know them. It's not something anyone says outright, but implied. It's basically sexism, but I really don't want to get into that. Anyway, I'm not saying that's why people hate her here. It's mostly on tumblr. One person hated Ayumi for "not noticing how awesome Yoshiki is" and a lot of other people basically hate her because they want to ship them together. I just don't like the idea that people don't like her because they think she somehow owes him a relationship just because he's nice to her. Then again, it's tumblr...you can't really think much of what the people say at that place.

I do agree with the reasons people here have listed as not liking her as I've said, I'm only just saying that's why other people elsewhere don't like her. I don't so much blame her for reacting emotionally though, because different people deal with grief and stress differently (Remember how Naomi treated Seiko? It's the same sort of thing) and a lot of people just kinda go nuts and attack the people around them. I think in the end, she didn't really mean all the cruel things she said.

I'm not defending her. She still had no right to say such mean things to him, it's not justified at all, but I can still understand why she would react so poorly. I honestly have more of an issue with her lying about caring about "everyone" when it's obvious she only cares about Satoshi and not so much about her other friends.

Though most of the "friendzoning" QQing that I see is on the internet where Beta Males tend to gather (imgur, reddit, 4chan, etc).

Though to be honest, they should stop calling themselves "Beta" since that's them thinking too highly of themselves. A Pack Beta is the second in command, those guys are more like Pack Omegas, which are the little bitch sissies that let everyone walk over them because it helps the pack dynamic.
