Who knows why people care about all sorts of shit? It's the internet, people are going to care about stuff.
Hey I neither killed her directly nor hired people to kill her. If she didn't have the chops to complete her assigned task and got herself killed, well she wasn't good enough for our team! You on the other hand in LOTRO were not only competent enough to carry out the assigned task, you repeatedly saved my butt, so totally different situations :-) But yeah, if you're potentially going to side with meglomaniac industrialist over me, then you should watch your back.
Now THAT would be relevant, because - and I can finally break the NDA - I did all the mo-cap acting for Citra Talugmai, Liza Snow and about 80 percent of the boars.
Given that your average horror movie is an exercise in sexualized violence and punishing characters, especially female ones, for promiscuity, I think his reaction is pretty predictable if he's a horror fan actually.
Most horror movies yes, but zombie movies typically have different themes. So I don't think you can apply the same standard. I think Tom knows this, but he likes the game, and he tends to hold things, or people, he likes to different standards.
And if you want an answer, this is a catch-all thread for things Tom related, and this is arguably an issue that is far more relevant to this thread than anything else in it.
Hey guys, leave Jerri alone! She's a woman, and I can't stand you all sullying her honor. Seriously though, the pile-on is a going a bit overboard.
The five or so people who replied to tell her that she's wrong, that she should go away from the thread, and that she has no sense of humor. I was actually going to ask her when was this thread ever about anything interesting, but I saw that enough people had already made similar points and decided against it. And then they kept going.
Well, she was pretty wrong. Whatever you think about thread derails and meta-commentary, coming into a thread in the Drama Lama forum and complaining that people had re-railed the thread deserves at least five replies. This is how community standards are enforced.
You're probably seeing this as people still traumatized by Tom being unable to let go, and there's probably a bit of that. But it's more that there's this stupid hateful guy we all know and when he says stupid hateful things we can all point and shake our heads and feel good about being better than him. Because we so are. It's pretty much the same reason Otterloop keeps posting political cartoons by the same group of stupid hateful hacks and people keep reading them and getting angry.
Yup, his basic point is that it's ok because it's always this way. To paraphrase Godwin: "Guys, it's a Nazi Propaganda game. Of course they're going to put a dismembered Jew on the box, that doesn't make it anti-semitic. You have to understand the genre to see why this isn't offensive."
Going back to a site you hate, run by someone you hate, just to troll seems like a silly thing to be doing. He pretty much ignores us here, (which is a good thing), and bitching about him here is one thing, but going to his site specifically to troll and cause trouble shouldn't be something people do.
You need neither hate the site nor be traumatized or whatever to follow this thread (there, did I get "need" right this time, Quitch?). Personally, I never felt at home at qt3 (I do have an account and afaik it's not banned, but I posted maybe three or four times, if that) and I still read about Tom Chick. It's fascinating in a train wreck sort of way, if the train insisted that all was well with it and that the tracks had it coming even while it dug itself deeper and deeper into the mud off its path. I do feel for the people who once called him friend, though.
Do you know what the iceberg said right after the collision? "Not my fault - she just bruises easy" I know, lamest joke ever... try the veal.
