It wasn't just an indictment of just Scuzz, though. It was an indictment of everyone who still posts on Qt3 for tolerating stupid posts like Scuzz's. Why doesn't anyone who still has an account at Qt3 call him out over there?

I have no problem characterizing any posts in that thread that aren't some variation on "wtf is wrong with you?" as profoundly stupid until such time that the OP has been thoroughly chastised for posting such a fucking dumb thread and discussion has moved on.
I had to re-read it, but I don't think so. I think his point was that as an older person he doesn't "get" teenage or pop culture things, not that Scuzz is old and stupid. I, however, did just tell Scuzz that he's stupid.

Because it implies that I spend my time on QT3 searching for, rather than avoiding, if I notice at all, the stupid? I never burned my bridges there despite my feelings about the bannening and I still post from time to time, but as with here and when I was actively participating there, 90% of the drama passes me by. If I had to engage the stupid I'd have to read dawn falcon's posts and I would rather force Tom to ban me than have to endure that.
Maybe, just maybe, there are people there who want no part of any drama and don't read every single thread with the intention of calling out people.

Well, in my case, while I still have an account there, I've stopped posting at Qt3 for reasons I've pretty much already covered in this thread. For another, it's not like Scuzz has just suddenly turned into an idiot. He's been an idiot since literally his first post. I spent some time calling him out on his bullshit for a while, but here's the thing with idiots: If they could see why they were being idiots, then they wouldn't be idiots. So, you know, fuck it. If Qt3 wants to be a place that kicks out interesting people and leave bottom-feeders like the insanely appropriately named Scuzz, then let it. I'm sure everybody there is capable of typing www.brokenforum.com into a browser, right?

I simply disagree with the statement that she's "perfectly at home" there. What the fuck is Chick's Christian thread? I must say, that I find the Chick-watching to be still fascinating, but I don't care enough about anybody who decided to stay at Qt3 to care, why they made that choice. It's so clear to me, that BF is a better forum, that for whatever reason you decided you still like Qt3 more, you're clearly wrong in this case and thus possibly also in many others - most of the names I still recognize like Scuzz, WarrenM, ElGuapo etc. are known idiots that I'm quite happy stayed put. For people I like, like Denny or Gus, I'm thinking that I don't understand their choice, but hey, their choice let's move on. tl;dr More Tom, don't care about the rest

I've said it before, but there are still some of us who post on both. I still find value in QT3, for games and even in the political section lately. Cherry picking threads to find examples of things you find offensive is a bit silly, really. I also think it's rather paternalistic to start analyzing female users of QT3 as to why they continue to post there. I doubt they want to be singled out like that. Btw, Brett...punching matches with Bill Dungsroman never end well, though they can be entertaining and even educational for those of us observing. My recommendation would be to refrain.
I don't know if I would put it that way, but it's undeniable that if brett chooses to engage around a non-issue (as opposed to when he dips into an actual issue, gets served, and then runs and hides) you'll see diminishing returns for each subsequent time that you point out how worthless he is. Every now and then, it will inspire a knockout turn of phrase, but those are exceptions even for the best posters. Mostly, it will just be people trying not to empathize with a professional victim, and people who otherwise dislike what brett does but are annoyed that he's the center of a thread yet again and are just as likely to blame it on the not-normally-toxic poster rather than a shitpostbot with broken subroutines that is incapable of self-awareness.
