X-Files fandom is where the term "shipping" came from in the first place!

I'm a little bit of a fandom history nerd, and for anyone else who is interested in such things I recommend the books Enterprising Women by Camille Bacon-Smith and Boldly Writing by Joan Marie Verba.

No see "shipping" came from when people were arguing about Mulder and Scully and there were "relationshippers" who wanted them to be in a romance and I think "noromos" or something who didn't. (Also, we're watching the first season of X-Files in the Sci-Fi house at my school and everyone is going "how the hell did they stretch the tension for six seasons")

/knows this from TvTropes despite having only been into the actual X-Files for a year or so/

The X-Files is awesome, go watch it, revel in the best partnership ever. Also, do tell me if you think Mulder and Scully's relationship should stay platonic or turn romantic, because where I stand from, I don't care anymore, they are just a fantastic duo.

X-Files was an odd show for me in that I liked most of the stand-alone episodes but hated the story arcs. I never really got into the fandom.

They are totally an amazing duo! I really love them and Scully is wonderful~

Elementary's Sherlock and Watson are starting to rival it some, though, because holy shit Lucy Liu and also Joan takes none of Sherlock's BS. [sorry I just had to gush to someone about that show]

Surprisingly, I love the whole thing despite the fact I know it's just going to drag out and go downhill as the seasons roll by. Do I care? Not particularly, considering it's the characters making the show for me, particularly Mulder and Scully.

Especially Scully. I may or may not have a fan-crush on that character and Gillian Anderson.

Yup! It's for an Extended Definition Essay I'm doing. So, write a paper about shipping (or any topic of your choice) basically. :D

So, you could write about anything, and you chose to write about shipping?

I'm going to second Elyscape's recommendation. The art is cute, the strips are accurate and often funny, and you can tell the creator loves the show but they are still willing to poke fun at it when it does something silly or bizarre.

I love that show and both of them so much so far. Never before have I been so glad to have watched a show to spite the internet.

Appropriate summary of my reaction as well, believe me. When I said amazed, I meant it in a flat "What" manner as well because I can't compute it.

I'm not sure if anyone is looking at this anymore, but if they are, since this one has gotten kind of quiet, and I'm bad at prioritizing, realized it might be nice to post about my newest LP here.
