I was one of the few people who got past the launch problems and actually liked Brink. So I guess I'm in for their next endeavor after branching out to an iOS game and splitting off some infrastructure groups like Warchest and Fireteam.

I also liked brink , even maxed out a class and a half, then everyone gave up on it. :(

This new game looks ok, but F2P isn't my thing. I might give it a shot just to see what its like.

I bought Brink on sale. It kept crashing during character creation due to some memory issue or something. I shelved Brink.

Guys making these FPS games hasn't really worked out, let's make a new one!

Brink didn't work out? It sold ~2.5 million copies. I'm sure Splash Damage would be happy to continue failing in that fashion. Enemy Territory was quite popular, too. Quake Wars is really the only shooter they have done that has tanked. It didn't deserve to tank--it was a really good game. At least according to me and the three other people that played it.

I liked Brink rather a lot, personally. It was rough at release, had a fairly steep learning curve, and no single player. I think that stuff hurt its longevity, but it was a commercial success.

Pre-Alpha gameplay footage. Pre-orders are up too.
