When the flashback fades, the scene shifts to the underground room. Naala's asking Tooya to check on the amount of blue powder she's measured. With a smile, he says it looks just fine. As he promised, since that other day, Tooya's stopped avoiding her. Every day, Naala's been helping him out so as to ease his burden since he's balancing this with his duties as king. While she's getting things together, their hands touch a little. Even though it's such a small interaction, Naala's heart begins to "dance strangely". NAALA... Her cheeks redden while she notes that Tooya is so enthusiastic about the research that he hasn't even noticed.

Seeing her freeze up, he casts a worried glance in her direction before smiling. At such a close range, Naala feels "enchanted" by that smile and her whole body heats up. Naala, you've got it REAL bad. Anyway, she feels so embarrassed that she can't look him in the eye. She thanks him for checking on the powder for her.

Tooya comments that her hand is trembling and asks if she's cold. CLEARLY HE IS JUST AS CLUELESS AS SHE IS ABOUT THIS SORT OF THING. Naala says that she's just nervous because she doesn't want to make a mistake. 9_9 Tooya then says he'll support her, so she shouldn't worry. He draws close enough to her side that Naala can feel his body temperature and says that they're in such a position that it almost feels like he's embracing her. Despite her embarrassment, she doesn't want to part from him and feels annoyed at the dilemma/contradiction she faces. At this point they're married and live together, so she doesn't know why she's making such a big deal out of being embraced.

Finally, Naala says shyly that she's alright now and he doesn't need to support her anymore. Tooya says that he's worried about her, though, so he'll support her a little while longer. After all, she's still trembling. She says again that she's alright. Tooya says that perhaps he should support her from behind, then.

HIS VOICE IS SO LOW AND HUSKY RIGHT HERE SDLKFJSLIEGHsleighLKDfjlkJFLSIGjklsjflsFj OH MY GOSH

Before she can protest, he closely hugs her from behind.

    Naala: "U-umm, Tooya..."
    Tooya: "Yes?"

His voice is right next to her ear and a chill runs down her spine. She sighs and feels numb from the sensation, annoyed at her own hypersensitivity. Tooya asks her what's wrong, but his low voice is right at her ear again, so it hardly makes things better. Feeling dizzy, she puts her hands on top of the desk to steady herself. Just then, she feels something touch her hip.

    Naala: "? This is......"

AND THEN TOOYA JUMPS BACKWARDS IN A PANIC AND IS ALL "OH I WONDER WHERE I PUT THAT GREEN POWDER" OMFG TOOYA YOU DID NOT JUST--TOOYA. CONTROL YOURSELF OMG.

Naala feels a little suspicious and worried about his rather desperate movement just now, so she tilts her head and stares at him. Before she can ask what's the matter, though, Tooya just shouts "YEP. TODAY, TOO, WE'RE GOING TO DO OUR BEST." in an extremely forced-sounding voice ahahahahaha Tooya yousdlfkjsldgkhslieghklsdjf. A bit shocked, Naala just says "Y-yes." She's still VEEEERY CURIOUS about his reaction, but then the scene fades.

And then we're in their bedroom at night and Naala's saying that they should go to sleep right about now. However, Tooya asks if she'd like to drink a little first. She wonders if he's planned this since he already has a gourd of alcohol in his hand.

Naala: "If you drink alcohol at a time like this, will you be able to wake up tomorrow?"
Tooya: "I thought I'd already proven the strength of my alcohol tolerance to you, thought?"

Naala still remembers her humiliating defeat, so she can hardly argue with that. Tooya pours the alcohol into a cup and presents it to her. She seems surprised, but Tooya says that because she helped him, she should be tired, too. Naala smiles, realizing he's been worried about her. When she just obediently accepts the cup, Tooya smiles happily. They sit at the window and drink together.

Then she asks if Ruji's been doing alright. Tooya says that he is and that things on that side seem to be progressing quite well. Naala says that she's glad to hear it.

She then adds that next time she'd like to take a peek at what he's doing. It seems Ruji's team is working on neutralizing the poison in the nameless flower. Tooya's eyes narrow ever-so-slightly as he asks if Naala's interested in Ruji. Well, the object of the sentence is unclear because it's Japanese... Literally he asks "Do you have an interest?" BUT WE ALL KNOW WHO HE'S TALKING ABOUT.

There's a choice here between "I suppose so" and "Wouldn't it be nice to make friends with him?" The second one puts you on the path to yandere bad end. 9_9 COME ON, NAALA, DON'T SHOW INTEREST IN RUJI. TOOYA'S BEEN JEALOUS OF HIM FROM THE BEGINNING. So we'll choose the first one.

Just so you all know, the yandere bad end involves Tooya drugging Naala with aphrodisiacs and narcotics, locking her in a hidden room underground where she's always chained to the wall, and raping her constantly hoping that she'll get pregnant because then that might ~bind her to him~ and make it so she can never leave. Eventually, Naala's saved when Uru tells Sharu and Sarana where her room is. They slip her a dagger through a very tiny window at the top of the wall and Naala contemplates killing herself with it. Tooya comes in just then, however, and when he sees the knife he freaks out and is like IF YOU WON'T LOVE ME NO ONE CAN HAVE YOU LET'S DIE TOGETHER and rushes at her, so she flinches and holds the knife out, but it turns out he never pulled out his sword and he did that on purpose so that she could kill him because he felt so guilty over what he was doing to her. There's a very sad CG of her crying over his bloody body as he dies in her arms and then the game just ends. THAT IS THE QUICK AND RELATIVELY PAINLESS VERSION OF EVENTS. The actual ending is ridiculously long and drawn-out and I just sat there like _(:3」∠)_ as I watched the whole thing.

Is it bad that when Tooya gave her the alcohol I thought he drugged it anyway? I'm just too suspicious when things go well >.>

That bad end...wow. I kind of thought that was what it would be? (Minus him actually trying to get her to kill him because he felt guilty.) Goddamn, I don't want all these feels. TAKE THEM BACK. STOP.
I hate it when they're drawn out, though, because it has so much more impact if it's quick.

She starts to say that Ruji is very impressive for getting so far at such a young age, but then she clearly emphasizes that she'd like to observe his work and see how he does things--so she has interest in his process, not in him. Tooya just says "I see..." but he sounds much more relieved than when you pick the other option, trust me. 9_9

Then Naala gushes that both Tooya and Ruji have so much knowledge. Tooya says that he only specializes in pharmacology. Talking about knowledge in general, Noll knows a lot more things. (which we all are aware of after doing his route--I mean the guy speaks 10+ languages and is a master of literature, economics, politics, history, and who knows what else) Naala says that might be the case, but she wants to stay away from Noll. (LOL) Which is funny because even around this point on Noll's route, she basically still hates him. XD

Tooya laughs as he says that it seems she really hates Noll. Rather than agree or disagree with that, Naala asks Tooya what he thinks of Noll. With a pause, Tooya says he thinks of Noll as his teacher/master, so he can't really hate him. Naala thinks to herself that she can see that--they've always seemed too close to simply be king and vassal. She's still curious about this, though, as they're so close in age, so she asks about that. Tooya says that Noll was hailed as a "child genius" in his own country and he himself, who is just an ordinary person, can't compare to such a prodigy.

    OKAY IDK THIS MAKES ME REALLY SAD because yes Noll is pretty bright, but he also works incredibly hard and never sleeps and everyone in this game thinks he just coasts through life without caring and that's so not true. ;_;

Naala sighs, saying that if Tooya's considered an "ordinary" person, most everyone else in the world would be considered below average. Tooya laughs happily, saying that he feels honored she'd think that way about him. Naala then says that with Noll as his tutor, no wonder Tooya's so knowledgeable/excellent/etc. Tooya then says that he always took Noll's classes with Suren. Naala is surprised about this. Somewhat bitterly, Tooya relates that his father even joked about adopting Suren because he possibly wanted a stronger, more clever successor.

Naala then asks about his relationship with Suren and Tooya says that they are schoolmates and childhood friends. She nods, understanding that atmosphere between them at last, and says Tooya must have been mistaken about his father since there's no parent who would prioritize someone over their own child. Surely Tooya's father wanted to be a supporting presence to him, she says. Tooya just vaguely says that if that had been true, his father would have loved "that person" even more. Naala wonders who he's talking about... Because somehow it doesn't seem like he's talking about Suren... But Tooya continues talking while she's still considering the topic, so she misses her chance to ask.

Tooya says that it's because of this that he's a bit worried about Suren hating him. Naala asks why he would and Tooya says that after he and Naala got married, Suren complained a LOT.

    Naala: "! Really?"
Tooya: "Yes. Though luckily it ended after one peaceful dialogue."
    Naala: "One..."
Tooya: "Well, we used our swords a little bit."
Naala: "That's not 'peaceul' at all, is it..."
Tooya: "Well, we're all right now, so don't worry. It was just a little scuffle between childhood friends."
Naala: (I don't know if you can call a sword fight a 'little scuffle'......)

She apologizes for troubling Tooya. He laughs sadly and reminds her that he's the man who kidnapped her. TOOYA, QUIT IT. Naala's like "That's true, but..." and trails off.

Tooya says that he'll feel lonely if she keeps apologizing and then wonders if she'd rather have married another man?

Tooya: "For example, a gentle man like Ruji......"

SEE? OMG. DON'T EVEN MENTION RUJI'S NAME. If Ruji wasn't such a great doctor, I'm sure he'd have been exiled already, geez.

Naala is surprised that Tooya would even bring up Ruji. Sadly, Tooya says that if that unfortunate situation hadn't occurred, perhaps she'd already be married to Ruji.

WHICH... Even on Ruji's route, you still have to marry Tooya first, so JOKE'S ON YOU, TOOYA oh wait that just makes things worse... _(:3」∠)_

She says that might be true, but... And then there's another choice between "After all, I think it was fated that I become your wife" or "Now, I think it's good that I became Tooya's wife". Personally, I'm not sure what's wrong with that second choice, especially considering LATER SPOILERS in this route, but the first one is correct.

So Naala says it and then Tooya just repeats "Fate..." in monotone. Naala doesn't notice Tooya's shift in mood, however, and adds, "Yes. Mother and that oath led us together."

Tooya: "......so it's that oath again?"

He says this in a rather low, vaguely dangerous-sounding voice. Here is another YOU GUYS SHOULD REALLY BUY THIS GAME entreaty from me because the voice acting is so superb. Each seiyuu they picked for the cast (the men in particular) has such amazing range that the subtle little shifts in tone and mood are so... WOW.

Anyway, Naala picks up on it this time. She says "Eh?" just as there's an ominous-sounding gust of wind.

Tooya: "That's right......if it wasn't for that oath, you wouldn't be by my side, would you?"
    Naala: "Tooya......?"

THE YANDERE BGM STARTS PLAYING. GAH. --it occurs to me that I frequently mention this yandere BGM, but none of you have heard it unless you were in one of the two streams I did... So here, I've uploaded a low-ish quality rip of it. (PLEASE BUY THE GAME) So now you can listen to that and feel as chilled and freaked out as I do. Just imagine Tachibana Shinnosuke speaking in a measured, chillingly dangerous tone, too.

Anyway, Naala says that the tone of his voice, his words clearly contain a sort of bitter disdain. Rather than feeling scared off and uncomfortable, however, Naala looks Tooya in the eye to see if she can ascertain what he's really feeling.

Naala: "Did I say something that I shouldn't have?"

Tooya: "Not at all? Ahh, your cup is empty. This time let's try this [other] wine."
    Naala: "Ah, all right......"

Tooya is smiling again in a soothing way like always, which makes Naala's chest ache. However, the bitterness from before has left such an impression that it's birthed a strange sense of frustration that she can't seem to describe. She doesn't understand the reason for it. Being unable to word how she feels, she comments on the alcohol. After Tooya pours her a new cup, she says that it tastes delicious.

Tooya: "I personally made this special sake."

THE YANDERE TRACK IS STILL PLAYING, TOOYA.

Naala: "Heeeh, you even know about making alcohol."
Tooya: "......if you're pleased with it, I'll bring you some every night from hereafter."
Tooya: "If only your lower limbs could be cut off, perhaps you could stay with me forever. Well, I'm only joking, however."

TOOYA THAT DOES NOT SOUND LIKE A JOKE

IT DOES NOT SOUND LIKE A JOKE AT ALL

Naala: "Haha, every night would be nice."

NAALA DID YOU NOT HEAR WHAT HE JUST SAID?? GURL HE JUST CALMLY "JOKED" ABOUT CUTTING OFF YOUR LEGS SO YOU WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO ESCAPE. NAALA.

    Naala: (Huh, this alcohol...)

She suddenly feels that her tongue is a bit numb... And then the scene fades.

New chapter. It's called "Sweet Kiss". After THAT? 9_9

The next night, Naala's sitting in her room thinking that the council assembly should be done soon. She's also thinking that after drinking with Tooya, for some reason she can't stay calm. Last night she was able to sleep because the wine helped her, but somehow she doesn't feel sleepy at all tonight. Honey, that's because your drink last night was drugged.

And if I remember correctly, they never tell us what happened after she passed out, so there is that disturbing little gap in her memory/the game's story. e_e

Anyway, Naala's wondering why she feels this way. She stares at the bed and thinks that even though they've lain there together so many nights, now she thinks of it differently. Every time she sees it, she feels a bit of panic... So she hurriedly decides to look at something else.

Tooya then enters the room while sighing. Naala perks up immediately when she sees him and welcomes him back. He smiles at her in response, but she feels that he looks very tired. He can't even get out a whole sentence and heads to bed while sighing loudly some more. Worried, Naala thinks to herself that he looks more tired than ever. She knows that many of the councilmen can be quite hard-headed, so Tooya's always tired out on nights after an assembly. (and we all know just how hard-headed they can be, geez Orute)

Wanting to lighten Tooya's burden even a little, she approaches him from the other side of the bed and reaches towards his shoulders.

Tooya is taken aback by this, naturally. But Naala just gently tells him good job for working so hard and begins to massage his shoulder muscles. Once he understands her intentions, Tooya smiles. She can only see his profile from her position, but she's glad to see him look even a bit more relieved.

    Tooya: "......thank you."
Naala: "Showing her appreciation for her husband who's worked so hard outside is natural for a wife, isn't it?"

She tries to say this in a joking, light manner, but her chest aches just saying those words. Even though their marriage is more of a contractual partnership, somehow the atmosphere feels as if this is their "first night". From her fingertips touching Tooya's body to the interior of her head, Naala feels a swirling sort of heat. Even though she's touching him of her own accord, she feels strangely nervous.

Tooya: "......will you not come over here?"

Tooya pats the spot next to him and gently pulls her. Naala's body goes rigid from surprise, but Tooya's big hands calm her almost immediately. (I tried to think of so many different ways to word this but I couldns'dlkfjsoieghioSHslkdfj)

Tooya: "Don't worry. I only want to feel your warmth."

    Uh huh.

Tooya: "When I think that someone with the same will as me is nearby...... My body feels lighter."

His hand gently strokes her shoulder in a kind manner and Naala's chest tightens. Her mind is filled with impulses that even she can't understand. She doesn't know what to do and it seems Tooya notices how nervous she is, as he smiles a little sadly and apologizes, saying that he's alright now so she should rest.

But Naala says "Wait!" and grabs his hand as he tries to rise. As soon as she does so, she looks down at the ground in a panic.

Naala: "I-if......my existence is useful, then... It's all right if you touch me more......"

    Tooya: "Eh....."

Yeah, that's about my reaction, too, Tooya. Naala feels incredibly embarrassed at this turn of events and thinks that she only wants to sooth Tooya's heart somehow. Unfortunately, Naala thinks, she's not a "cute girl" so she doesn't know how to communicate well. She wants to be closer to him, to touch him... Before she knows it, her body is drawn to him even without her meaning to.

Tooya seems to disagree with Naala's self-assessment, though, because he says "......you really are cute." and this time it's Naala's turn to be caught off-guard. She doesn't understand what part of her is cute. When she finally looks up, Tooya's gaze is averted and he looks like this:

The two of them sort of just awkwardly sit there for a while, both blushing. Naala thinks to herself that her heart's beating so fast it might break. Her throat is extremely dry and she can hear both of them swallowing nervously. She thinks she should let go of Tooya's hand now, but somehow she doesn't feel like moving. She thinks that every cell in her body is clamoring to "feel Tooya's heat".

OMG. NAALA ARE YOU... COULD THIS BE...

Tooya: "T-today, what did you do?"

TOOYA WHY ARE YOU CHANGING THE SUBJECT?

Naala: "U-umm...... After consulting with the Luce women in the morning, I pored over the results of the study in the afternoon."
    Tooya: "Is that so......"
    Naala: "Yes......"

You guys are terrible at this changing subjects thing.

Naala thinks that normally they can hold endless conversations, but for some reason tonight they're both strangely silent. There's a strange tension and a rising heat.

Tooya: "...when you said 'more', about how much longer/more did you mean?"

TOOYA, REALLY? I am getting so much secondhand embarrassment from translating this.

    Naala: "Eh? Umm......"

Naala's cheeks redden even more, if that's possible, as she remembers what she said earlier. Somehow it feels even more embarrassing to hear Tooya repeat her words.

Naala: "A-as long as Tooya wants to......perhaps."
Tooya: "But if that's the case, it might end up going all night long."

I am so done with you two.

Even though his words sound like a joke, Tooya's face is serious.

    Naala: "Aren't you tired?"
Tooya: "I am tired, but when I think that getting such permission from you is a rare opportunity, somehow..."
Naala: "Haha, don't push yourself. Whether it's tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, it'll be like this."

Tooya: "Is it really all right......for me to embrace you anytime?"
Naala: "! Th-that's right......if it will make you feel better, then......I mean, even friends should do this much for each other, right?"

I feel like Naala took 10 steps forward and then 100 steps back just now.

As soon as she says "friend", she feels a sharp pain in her chest. Which even she acknowledges is stupid since she herself said those words. But she ~doesn't understand this throbbing pain in her heart~.

Naala: "I'm not sure if your fatigue will be relieved just from this, though......"
Tooya: "I already said it before. Just having you nearby sets my mind at ease."
Tooya: "And if it's possible for this to come true, someday I wish to become such an existence for you, as well."
    Naala: (Tooya, for me...)

Naala feels a gradual heat rise from the bottom of her heart upon hearing his words. She lets out a bit of a painful sigh.

Naala: "......I think that's already come true."

Even though their first meeting was a disaster and she hated him at first, it was because Tooya was here that she can have such a hope for the future of the continent. If they never met, perhaps things might have turned out differently. However, now Tooya's existence is a very big, important part of her life. She already can't imagine a life without being by his side.

    Tooya: "Is that......really true?"

Naala says yes and voices out loud pretty much everything I just said in that last paragraph plus that she thinks he has a big heart and it's good that the people have him. Tooya looks really touched and Naala laughs a little, saying that when they support each other like this, they really seem similar to a married couple. Because she was so happy, she said these words without thinking and Tooya gapes at her in surprise. Naala tries to emphasizes that she meant "similar to", but then...................................

Yes this is all very cute but remember that he did drug her earlier and jokingly threaten to cut off her legs. And it's implied that he experimented ON ACTUAL PEOPLE to test out the effects of various poisons.

Tooya's always ridiculously possessive, it's just that in the good route Naala doesn't give him reason to snap and in the bad routes, she does (in his mind) by being too openly affectionate with Ruji. That dark side of his is there from the beginning.

It'll make more sense later if all this is still a bit too subtle.

Still giggle snorting at the awkwardness between these two, my goodness. The way Naala just brushes off Tooya's LolImmacutoffyourlimbssoyoucanneverescapeandwe'llbetogetherforeverandever is very admirable, it takes a certain amount of otome-protagonist density to do that ʘ‿ʘ Then again with how their relationship is proceeding I shouldn't be surprised at all--

Also, thinking about it now, perhaps the first choice was 'correct' because it indicates that Naala sees them as being tied by an invisible, romantic string, whereas the second choice implies that Naala only now thinks that marrying Tooya was a good thing because it allowed her to be closer to Ruji? (Though with a personality like Tooyas, the two of them meeting doesn't seem likely anyway .__. Ruji is very, very pretty though ovo.)

We can wait for the handsome possibly murderous men. May good fortune befall you (what? Somebody already said good luck) and which game is this? The two games from you and Auro that appeared on this site were quite good.

In lieu of an actual update, have this: http://piratejewel.net/koezaru/

I've uploaded a (fairly low quality, just for sampling, etc—BUY THE GAME) streaming playlist of the soundtrack, which I ripped. The soundtrack really is gorgeous, so here you are.

Since that legs cut off scene o.o i am not enjoying this anymore. Does it help i'm reading the LP with yandere music on loop? ;___; everything feels weird now

I think that it's less Tooya specifically being terrible sometimes so much as because this is R-18 otome, they feel compelled to make every main love interest occasionally ridiculously rapey or yandere-sounding. It's just that for Tooya that moment has come later than for Noll McPaperweight and Suren El Impregnator, making it even more jarring considering that he's kind of like an adorable but lonely puppyman the rest of the time.

    I very much concur.
Add to that that Tooya seems very much aware of his darker side and appears disturbed by it. Even in his rapey route he feels so guilty that he lets Naala kill him.

It seems like even he is frightened by the realization that he is in a R-18 otome. He is being dragged along by the writer, sobbing and kicking and screaming.

"B-but I like Naala, I would never do anything to hurt her! D:"
"Well, if you don't then we're not letting you be a primary love interest, which means you'll barely ever see her again."
    "But-"
"Think of it this way, kid. It's only in the bad end, right?"
"You're not going to get a better deal than this. Not in an R-18 otome."
    "...okay. ._."
"As long as I get my comeuppance at the end."
    "Fiiiiiiiine."

Yeah I think it's already a huge step up from every other R-18 otome game that in this game, you only get all the horrible rape and yandere crap in the bad ends. :C I can't think of any other R-18 otome that's like this.
  37. DreadCop Already Beat BF's New Expansion

Apparently the one R-18 otome that doesn't have rape at all is Tsubasa no Oka no Hime, which granted does not appear to have nearly as much of a plot as this one. Clearly the solution is for there to be more R-18s made by OELVN developers!

I like this idea! Sadly I can't help out because I am terrible at writing sex scenes. _(:3」∠)_

And I'm back. The kids are finally gone. e_e I recently got this:

And it's just resurrected my deep need to finally LP Suren's route because OH MY GOD THIS GUY. ;____; But yeah I've switched on over to Windows and I'll be continuing the LP tonight. Err, like now. In the next post. Let's try and finish off Tooya soon so we can move on to the good stuff! :Db

...it feels so weird to just be able to translate things without having to look up Sengoku Jidai history every other line. Is this multiple LP whiplash?
