Oh, I saw the video for this on Reject's Youtube when I was checking for DiaLovers news. Seeing the word "8Bit" was enough for me to fall in love. So gonna buy it.

Wow, I really don't get if it's a dating SIM in RPG!verse or the reverse, but it looks like an entertaining play. I'd totally need a translation though, so will just say, I'm surprised how many villain/monster options there are.

He calls it Kotetsu. And talks about it like it's a person.

He's not a do-S or anything though (that would be approximately half the rest of the cast). He's just not quite right in the head.

Omg, my canon guy does the same thing, too (nicknamed the sword Kotetsu)! And he's a bit eccentric as well. Hm...might look into this game.

As far as I can tell, there's not a game thus far, just a series of drama CDs.

They didn't make the CDs, they just made the game.

Pretty sure Rejet made the CDs, and Rejet+Otomate the game. At least the CDs are listed on Rejet's homepage.

REJET, WHY?

I would love to work for Reject though, rather than Otomate (in a hypothetical world). They're more willing to push the envelope on stories/routes, while Otomate is stuck in the fluffy shoujo-y routes most of the time. I'd enjoy the chance to experiment.

This is one of the games I'll be picking up... it just looks/sounds really interesting. That and its a rejet game... gotta love anything Rejet.

I'm like a zero beginner in Japanese, but playing my otoges has helped me pick up a lot more Japanese then I knew a year ago.

So if you don't like unhealthy relationships then Rejet isn't the company for you, huh? I mean, do their characters, like, physically harm the MC? That's the impression I got from reading about Black Wolves and Diabolik Lovers.

I can't say about physical yet, but there's a lot of mental harm in BWS from my impressions. I'm beginning to steer clear of Rejet.

Are BWS and DiaLovers even marketed as Otome Games, or just as AVG?

I think BWS and DiaLov (and Gekka Ryouran, I heard it's almost equally as crazy) are promoted as otome games, only the target audience might be different?

But Rejet does release some lighter games, like Renai Banchou.

Gekka Ryouran is pretty crazy, yeah. But I love it, because it gives us a yuri route.
I read a lot of reviews after playing the game, and most blogs were like "oh god, a YURI ROUTE IN AN OTOME GAME; SO GROSS I REFUSE TO PLAY THAT ROUTE." Made me wanna punch people. Daria's awesome.

Yeah, that is a problem, except Rejet doesn't label those games as Otoge, but instead as AVN. They're also not romanticising the abuse that is found within their games, either. They're pushing the envelop but I feel like they're doing that to prove a point.

Nonetheless, if you can't stomach that kind of thing, steer clear of their darker titles.

I dunno, those character profiles for the RPGish game come off as more than a little creepy (other than the dancer, that's just hilarious). Why is almost everyone described either an M or an S? What if I find both sadists and masochists off-putting? I mean, whenever someone self-identifies as a sadist these little warning bells go off in my head. They are, by definition, people who get off on hurting you. Yeah, no thanks.
