Interested to know what you think of AC3 though? I thought it was surprisingly balanced in it's presentation for a game covering the American Revolution

Oh, I know how bad it can be.
I spent the last 1/2 year juggling college and work, and it was hell on earth. I barely had time to eat and sleep, and because of this, for the last 6 months, my mood was utter crap.
My constant bad mood was one of the reasons I was fired, actually.

But now I've reached my final 2 semesters of college (I cannot even believe that it's almost over), and we're required to complete at least 200 hours of internship to pass the classes and graduate.
And while it was tiring, I liked when I had a job because I didn't feel useless like I do when I'm unemployed.
Besides, having my own money and spending it however I see fit without asking for my parents permission was pure bliss. It is definitely the best part of having a job. I bought so many clothes and video games it was so beautiful ahaha~ I haven't played even half of theeeeem~

Besides besides! I'm planning to travel with my cousin during Christmas, so I better start saving some money right now~

ABOUT AC: I'm at the very beginning of the game, so I'm not sure of how the game handled the politics of it all.
But I like the gameplay overall, with the exception of the changes they made to the fighting system. I used to ROCK the old one, and now all I do is get beat up all the time.
I also think I have a crush on Connor~ I mean, the man ain't no Ezio, but he's pretty cute. (Though I am admittedly in love with both his parents)

Know that feel about money, having to spend a lot of mine to go to Hungary to meet my girlfriend's family this Easter.

And oh my god, yes. I have the hugest mancrush on Haytham, I preferred him as a protag to Connor, actually.

And yeah, Mommy was pretty awesome, was really surprised at how well that whole thing was written, to be honest, given that AC is general pulpy but enjoyable nonsense :P

And [Redacted] are a lot more sympathetic this time around, be prepared to feel morally conflicted at points.

I assume your girlfriend's fluent in Hungarian, though? And that you share a language with her family?
If yes, then there's not really much to worry about.
Last month my cousin's boyfriend came here from the US to meet us, and even though the only word in Portuguese that he knows is an equivalent to "bitch", and only about 4 of us actually speak English, things went pretty smoothly. The family quite likes him~ <3

"Pulpy but enjoyable nonsense" is the best description of AC that I've ever read.

Yeah, it's her native tongue (though she is bilingual in English, and a classy artist to boot *points at avatar*). Unfortunately, her parents don't really speak English, though they are learning it, so I'll be relying on her to translate for us. Her little bro speaks some English, but he should be studying for his finals when we're over.

And yeah, I did have a bit of a man crush on Ezio when he grew up a little in the middle of ACII, and then into Bro'hood and Revelations.

AC3 actually had me wanting to jump ship and go with the [redacted] at times. Haytham is so cool it hurts ;-;

I was not really impressed with him in Revelations, I think it was because he seemed so... Tired of everything, y'know? It's a perfectly understandable development for his character, but that was not the Ezio I liked so much.
I still loved him, but I loved him more in Bro'hood <3

((Hornet comes along and speaks with the priest and the lancers there.))

Hornet: Captain Sendak is with us too.


((And then another priest comes and announces the exact same thing that Hornet did.))


As soon as I step onto the room, Diana, a Kahna Priest, grabs my hand and drags me further inside. She seems really happy.


Then Frederica, another Kahna Priest, grabs my hands and drags me around some more. She looks just as happy as Diana.
I look around and see that the lancers -er, I mean lan-lan-lancers- Frenze and Reeve are also here.
Everyone's safe and sound. I'm really glad that they're all okay, I was worried all these years when we didn't get any news of them.

... It seems Mist is still missing, though. I wonder what happened to her, hope she's okay.
This is all the Empire's fault! This senseless war, if only the Empire hadn't started it...

No, it's not the time to dwell on such thoughts.
But I will make the Empire pay for what they did to us and to all of Orelus.


Frederica's voice calls me back to reality.

Diana: We were getting worried since you were late.
Hornet: There will be time to chat later! Now our struggle begins.

Hornet: You decided on a name for the ship, didn't you?

Matelite Is Being an Ass


Matelite rushes into the room, knocking down the crewman who was guarding him. Poor guy...


Taicho comes right behind Matelite, knocking out another crewman.

Hornet looks pretty mad at them.

Hornet: Hey! Be quiet inside the ship!
Matelite: Just who do you think I am?! You're talking yo me, Matelite!

As much as I think Hornet's on the right, I try to advise him to not get on the Royal Guard's bad side. He is quite strong, after all.


Before I get the chance to say anything, though, Hornet punches Matelite, knocking him out.
... Woah. I did not think it was possible. Hornet sure is way stronger than he looks...

((Yeah, he punched good ol' Matt so hard he hit the wall and pretty much fainted.))

Hornet: Okay, Captain Sendak. Now for the ship's name.
Sendak: Ahem! Okay, get ready now...


Taicho: The flagship of Kahna!? But something seems missing!
Matelite: Taicho... You know what to do...
Taicho: T-This is...! Sir Matelite!!
Taicho: As you wish, Sir Matelite! Here I go!




((Taicho then walks to the north of the room, and climbs the windows/walls.))


((He continues with the climb until he's off the screen, at which point he falls down.))

Sendak: Oh!! Kahna's Flag!

((Y'know, while Byuu is the Protag-kun of this game, I sometimes feel that he's more of a side-kick to some of the other characters.
Especially Yoyo/My Wife. It's like she's the True Protagonist sometimes. This is one of the reasons I hated her when I played the first time, at the young age of 12~))

This is probably the 15th time I say this, but you've seen no thang yet.
That whole legend jazz is [redacted] and then [redacted] [redacted].
I really really want us to get to chapter 18 sooooooooon so you guys can rage with meeeeeee.

Alright, I'll rage with you once we get there. I've got a bit of excess rage that needs to be purged.

But, if she seems like a protagonist, she has to be a character that actually DOES things and ACTs reasonable, right?
It's always nice to have female characters like that in games.

Errmmmm... Actually...
She's more of a damsel in distress than a pro-active protag. It's like she's going with the flow. I guess she changes and evolves during the course of the game, but she's pretty insufferable for most of it.
She only feels like a protagonist because the entire game seems to revolve around her at times.
You have no idea how much this enraged the 12 year old me.
"BYUU is the protagonist, not dumb Yoyo!" the old me would think. "HOW DOES SHE DARE DO THAT TO HIM OMG I HATE HEEEEERRRR!"
I still don't like her, but I guess now I can be reasonable and not hate her guts for things that are completely out of her control.

That makes me quite sad, actually. It would be nice, perhaps, if My Wife actually did something in order for the plot to revolve around her.

If Sendak, an old man, can pilot a dragon, so can she.

The plot is centered on her because of her lineage more than her actions.
During most of the game, she's in this constant state of doubt and it's so frustrating. "Oh, Byuu, what do the [redacted] want from me? Oh, they seem so mad, why are they like this? Oh, help me Byuu! Oh, help me Matelite! Oh, help me [redacted]! Oh! [redacted], please don't be mad at me! Oh, I'm useless and I'm sorry Byuu! Oh! Oh!"
Ugh.
I can't really remember if she gets better after chapter 21, because that's where I stopped my recent playthrough to start a new one for this LP. But even if she does, that's far too close to the game's ending to actually matter anything.

(By the way, she can kinda pilot a dragon xD We just have to make her the leader of a party, which I normally do because her class is just so useful.)
