Bidded then on one of the lots that had the MERP main book along with other fun ICE properties!

Okay, this pile went through, and I'm much happier because they sold for a lot, but per-item it still isn't shit. Oh well.

Changeling lot of 4: $15. Blah.
Wraith: Lot if 17: $71 (still not even $4/book)
Hunter: lot of 10: $53 ($5.30/book -- not bad, especially since Hunter is kind of a blah property)
    Werewolf:Apocalypse lot of 11: $41.75. *sigh*
Vampire: Dark Ages lot of 19 items: $26. REALLY?
    Demon/Mummy/Mummy 2d: $27. That's more like it!
    Mage:Ascension lot of 16 items: $61. Okay.
    WoD/Vampire lot of 11 items: $52
    WW:Forsaken lot of 7: $28
    Vampire:tR lot of 12: $30
    Mage:Awakening lot of 5: $15.50
Vampire:TM lot of 42. $102.50. Not even $3/book. That was a MASSIVE lot.
ICE MERP lot of 5: $112.50. Extremely disappointing, but probably could have sold for more parting it out.
Ravenloft lot of 9, all in shrinkwrap: $61.50. Whoa, almost $7/item!
Runequest lot of 8 items + Heroes Magazine: $74. That's more like it!
Star Trek RPG in shrink: $29.50
Superhero 2044: $19.95. And this one has some historical significance.
Advanced Melee by Metagaming + Compleat Alchemist: $10.50. Oy. Both are historically significant and very rare.
World of Darkness lot of 27 books: $91

So yeah, nothing is worth much by itself (most of the high value items I've already sold off), so clearing out stacks of books might net $20/auction on average, but it adds up.

Glad your auctions have been mostly successful! You'll reclaim your room again in no time!

Also, I'd forgotten how much of a pain eBay is. Was "winning" my auction 45 minutes before it ended, and check an hour later to see that it had ended with me the loser and 5 bids that all came in at the last few minutes!

You have to snipe to win auctions these day, or at least win without crazy bidding wars. Autosniping programs are superior in almost all ways to doing bids the normal system:

    - you're not driving up the price prematurely
    - you're not committed to a bid since it's a 'just in time' bid

I use SnipeIt! and used to use PowerSnipe and they definitely paid for themselves over the years.

BTW, I'm building my mega-trash-lot and will post it once I get my last (yay!) set of auctions going, which I'm going to start sorting through tonight and kick off on Saturday or Sunday so they can finish out while I'm in Seattle, just in time for me to ship everything when I get back home.

The trash lots are the worst. Tons of one-off, obscure, not very valuable RPGs like Agone, Talislanta, Palladium RPG, Warhammer FRPG, and they're not worth listing and too individualized to put in logical lots.

Wait, whoa. Palladium RPG? Dear lord, one of the worst and clunkiest RPG systems ever. I absolutely adored it back in high school. Now I'm tempted to check these auctions out...

Most of the auctions have completed at this point, I'll be post my big/last set at some point, but I have a box here reserved for 'whomever on BF is going to pay shipping for it'. Incomplete boxed sets, worthless stuff that is worth $4 and I don't have a bulk lot to make it worthwhile.
  7. Alfinn Egilsson This Is SEWIOUS

You only got $10.50 for Advanced Melee plus Compleat Alchemist? Either one should have gone for more than that. Maybe should have listed them separately?

Tell me about it =( I could have listed them separately, but I am SO burned out from listing individual items and getting $6 for them. Thankfully the penultimate set of auctions is live now.
  9. Eduardo X Worked The System

I've been trying to get a decent copy of Ambush for AGES. I WILL SNIPE THE HELL OUT OF THAT.

Dude, you coulda had it for FREE because it failed to get any bids the first time! I even mentioned it here!

Actually, there are no bids, you can have it for price of shipping along with the other stuff I think you mentioned you wanted, sound good?
  11. Eduardo X Worked The System

Sounds great! I don't know how I missed your first mention. I thought I was following this thread pretty closely, too!

OMG OMG OMG, it's over and done, yay!

I have a big box of random RPG stuff that I'm too lazy to list. I'd probably ship it in 3-4 smaller boxes, anyone want it for like $15-20, let me know (i.e pay shipping costs).

CSPariah and Eduardo X, do you guys still want what's listed in the OP? If so I'll let you know what shipping is.

I might add that my last set of non-lot auctions actually did surprisingly well, in terms of high averages but nothing that sold for like hundreds of dollars. Just a pain in the ass to package and ship one thing at a time vs. a lot.

Oh, I also got nailed twice in a row with big boxes that didn't survive shipping. In one case it was a $200 White Wolf lot and it exploded on the way. Two separate, unrelated buyers reported problems, so I think I was overaggressive about combining shipping (30-40 pounds in a box) and happened to use lighter weight boxes that may not have been strong enough for that type of load. Oh well.

Just curious, what do you think your total volume reclaimed/shipped out was?
  19. BaconTastesGood Hard Cider Gal

My guess is that it was about $6000 or so, but that's just a gut instinct. The eBay tools are absolutely deplorable -- from what I can tell, I can't just ask "Show me total sales amounts over the past 90 days" or something.
  20. bloo Armchair Designer

Well, that's pretty decent I think. But I was actually curious about physical volume. Looking back, you said about 22 crates. Is that about right? Are those about a 1 foot wide? 22-25 linear feet? I'm getting close to 20 linear feet of stuff, not counting board games, and wonder how long before I'll be doing the same thing. ("'NEVAH! NEVAH,' I say!").

Actually, went into Paypal and totalled it up with the reports, looks like a bit under $8000 in RPG sales.

Ahhhh. I had 27 crates (plastic crates), but I think only 22 or so were RPGs, the rest was other crap.

Seriously, someone take my random leftovers off my hands or I will simply throw them away aka OR THE BUNNY GETS IT.
  24. Bahimiron Already Beat BF's New Expansion

Do you have a copy of World of Darkness Gypsy left over?

I want to frame it so I will never forget just how bad it all got.

No, pretty much all WoD is gone except for a stack of like new Kindred of the East. WANT THEM? They've somehow survived two auctions for $10 for the lot, I'm assuming KotE was just that bad.
  26. Alfinn Egilsson This Is SEWIOUS

    Got any Arcanum/Atlantean stuff?
  27. BaconTastesGood Hard Cider Gal

    Location:

Nope, everything is gone except my mighty box of leftovers no one wants.
  28. Alfinn Egilsson This Is SEWIOUS

I would give it to Goodwill or something rather than literally throwing it away. They might even come pick it up from your house.

something I learned a long time ago when I tried donating a bunch of books to the library -- libraries really don't seem to want them. If it's popular, they have like 9000 copies already (i.e. don't bother trying to give them your Stephen King or whatever). If it's obscure, no one will want to read it. Every time I've tried to donate they accept it and say they'll just sell it at a book sale, which I suppose is better than me carting it out to a dumpster.

  32. Eduardo X Worked The System

I work for a library's Friends Foundation, and we make a lot of money off donated books. More than retired books by about 60%.

But we don't take certain kinds of books, usually text books. At our sale, I saw no RPGs....

Yes, I do, it's glaring at me balefully, PM me an address. I'll ship it media mail for like $5 (it'll actually cost me more than that, but I want it gone! It'll probably be several boxes actually).
