Oh man, I don't bother with that. It makes the first run that much more "WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING", gives me an idea of who catches my eye, and then I plan accordingly in subsequent playthroughs. Mostly, I just want to get every single support. All of them.
I am a completionist I WILL GET ALL OF THE DAMN SUPPORTS IF IT KILLS ME which it probably will because I suck at strategy.
I still can't figure out how you can get enough time to build up decent supports with enough to have a kid with their special ability, given how late their sidequest is.
Does going through character pictures and ordering them by the most shiny count? If so then yes. Yes I have.
Decided to buy this on the Eshop since GameStop stopped preorders; it's downloading right now. Excitement!
*looks up, wild-eyed, from his on-hold playthrough of Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn for the Wii* WHY HELLO THERE DID SOMEONE CALL *cackles*
OKAY Gamestop doesn't have it in today, so what I'll do is go buy Nintendoshop points, buy it from the Eshop, get my preorder art book from GS, open the game outside, return it, use the credit to get more shoppoints for the DLC. Yes. I am impatient.
Uh, you might was to spoiler your comment, considering there's people on the site playing the game blind and don't know about
Well I know now. But I'm generally fine with spoilers, so I have no problems. Thanks for hiding it under a tag for others, though!
Ugh, I'm filling the support library now and it takes foreverrr. I'm done the main story, less sidequests, and I think I only have maybe like 10-15% of the support library filled. And that's with me pairing people up every battle. I've already grinded a ton to get supports, but I don't always get one support level per chapter, so. :( And forget about filling out father/child supports. Already beat the game twice, since I didn't like the pairings I got the first time, haha. Fun game. Too many supports and promotions/reclassing to do!
I'm grinding before chapter 11 so I can see a bunch of S supports before I marry Chrom. Also, this is what my Robin looks like at the moment (as a Dark Flier). That's Freddy (as a Wyvern Rider) and Chrom (as a Cavalier) in the picture with her. And here are her stats.
god, you must did a shit ton of grinding before chapter 11. I don't like the weapon system in fire emblem, limited use on weapons, so I end up just not using any special weapons, and stick to steel/silver, usually buy a bunch of them and use the restock option. also releveling weapon takes forever, after I switch to dark flier on my main character, I just stick with magic, having rng of 2 = awesome.
I would think the only one you'd never need to worry about for weapons is Chrom with his infinite iron sword Sealed Falcion
Oh. Right. Forgot about that. My head's still trying to piece itself together after how busy I've been.
Heh, the story behind that is that I reclassed her into a Pegasus Knight around chapter 8 or so, and my previous experience with PKs was that they were fragile as fuck so I did 4 hours straight grinding to get her to dark flier. She's a lot more powerful than I intended her to be. I was able to solo the entire chapter 11 battle when I tried it, just to see if I could. I've been trying to get the rest of the army caught up.
I kept my main as a tactician to lvl 20, then upgraded to strategist or something, about 5 levels of that, I upgraded straight into dark flier without having to redo the pegasus knight, so that save me from using lance.. my main character can do most of the mission solo. I have yet to figure out what's the class triangle yet, I know archer beats pegasus knights... does mage > archer or something? because my pegasus knight kill archer too as long as I get to attack first. I think I'm still using El ranking spells right now, does like 45-50 damages x 2, so it's enough to kill anything I encounter so far at chapter 14.
Sometimes the weapon has a little icon (like bow having a Pegasus wing/head) that indicate what it's effective against- but mostly it's memorization. Weapon triangle= Sword > Axe > Lance > Sword. There is no magic triangle, except that wind is super effective against fliers. (Fliers have a lot of super-weaknesses but the best movement) For classes like archers, their weakness is the fact that they can't retaliate with hand-to-hand and tend not to be that tough Defense/HP wise. Just as magical units like Mages are fragile physically, but physical units like Fighters tend to have rubbish resistance - so depending on who gets the jump first they kill each other more easily than say, a unit of the same class. And super weapons, while wonderful to hoard, can be invaluable when used right (for a low-level example, a Hammer against Knights). But really, I do the iron-only-playthrough too.
I figure lance proficiency will be useful once the Bride class comes out. Yeah, pretty much this. For example, it takes forever to beat one of those heavily-armoured guys with a sword/lance/axe/etc but you can often one-shot 'em with magic. Also, PKs are designed to be mage-killers. That's why they've got such great resistance.
for melee weapons I know it's like Sword > axe > lance > Sword. the bonus is really minor though. but then there are the innate class balance that seems to be much bigger than the weapon(no up arrow or down arrow), Flier takes very little damage from most spells except wind, but they take a shit ton of damage from archer, I have like 60 hp on my main character, I see like estimate 25 damage hits occasionally from archer, which they never hit because 5% chance to actually landing the hit..
It's an inherent flaw to flying units that they take major damage from arrows. It's a trade-off for having great movement, speed, and resistance. I believe Wyvern Riders are also weak to arrows as well as magic, but they have better all-around stats.
For the arrow problem, I've read up that if your flier can change class to bow knight they can learn Bow Slayer which gives 50% hit and evasion to any enemy with a bow equipped.
This game doesn't exist in my area and my 3DS refuses to download a system update over my wireless internet at home. fml.
I couldn't wait for Nintendo to unfuck themselves and their supply/shipping issues, so I canceled my Amazon preorder and downloaded it from the E-Shop. Online stores are already scalping copies.
Yep, I saw one going for $70 or so on Amazon. Perhaps Nintendo didn't anticipate that it would be this popular? In fact, why is it this popular? I always thought Fire Emblem was rather obscure.
Are you kidding me....? Fire Emblem seems rather popular to me with the number of walkthrough videos on the internet!!
How big is the DL for this on the 3DS? I've only got the standard card, which is 2 gb, which I'm sure already has stuff on it. Finally got my update problem fixed on my 3DS though!
