/colorblind brofist Personally I vote for making/finding/forking off a COLORBLIND PEOPLE THEME so that the muggles can have their little circle jerk or whatever and we can have an actually usable one with visible links for the Chosen People. As it is I pretty much have to mouse over to see if there are links if the wording of someone's post makes me suspicious that they are there.
I don't care what happens as long as the blueish thread titles from the subforums are deblueified. I'm using Eloquent, which is pretty much greyscale. The blue thread titles offend my delicate sensibilities.
Oh no, does this mean I need to leave the awesome Xenoforum Default behind and switch to the contrast monstrosity that is Eloquent or whatever completely inappropriate name it has just to get legible links? Damn you alllllllllllllllllll!
I changed the Purple to ElyscapeAndGuidoApproved Blue and changed the Eloquent Dark link color to a nonthreatening grayscale. I also renamed EloquentBlue to its true name. And I hate you all and am never changing anything ever again.
Well, now I've gotta test links brokenforum.com No the links have Underlines :( :( :( :( Oh well at least I got to rename the theme I guess.
XenoForo Bundled, the once forum default and always the default of my heart, is waiting for you. Of course, I wish it had underlined links, or different link colours, or something. It's perfect in every other way.
Doesn't have location field, and I hate the font. Which is why I requested to have Eloquent added (and Lum obliged out of the kindness of his wallet and heart).
I hate the underlining, I changed over to Flexile which is good enough. I miss EloquentBlue, but this will do. I do like the new name. If only EloquentYenta could have been made its own thing, and EloquentBlue left on its own.
Yeah, I'd prefer the original EloquentBlue to be the default and the underlined themes to be available as alternatives for people who have a problem seeing links, but I'd rather not bother Lum about it, especially as some people seem to be ecstatic at the underlining. >_< Also, I have a question. Is there any easy way to find out somebody's user ID without tagging them?
I'm going to get one last thing about the underlining off my chest and then after that I'll shut up about it forever, I swear to Lum. This is what the OP of my LP now looks like with the underlined links. Hideous. Absolutely hideous. I don't like Flexile's colour scheme, but I might switch to Flexile Dark after all. I just don't like the idea of my LP looking like that to people who are using the default Eloquent themes, since I spent a lot of effort trying to make it look as clean and presentable as possible. Oh well. Guess you can't make everyone happy. Sorry, I'll stop whining now. *zips mouth*
I don't like people using all those ugly wheelchair ramps in front of my shop, I spent so much time trying to make the landscaping pretty. And braile, WTF is up with that? That's not how I want people interacting with my books. It's an accessibility issue, and the people who need the option now have it. Chill.
I understand that, which is why I said that I was going to shut up about it! Also there are (and have always been) other themes that are available for people who can't see the links.
OK, I know this isn't directly on-topic, but I didn't want to start a new thread just to ask a stupid question -- How do I create a link to a forum member in a post without directly quoting them, so that it shows up in their notifications? I thought it was as simple as typing their user name in the main body of the post, but apparently not. Apologies for the diversion.
Code (text): @User or Code (text): MAGIC Simple enough, right, Jestintime? EDIT: Damn you, Meserach!
I have a request. Can I get the ability to ignore threads? Because the LP forum is filled with a bunch of crap I have no interest in that is just so much noise when I hit "What's new" but I don't want to remove the entire forum from the search because there's just as much gold among the noise. The workaround is to just add the posters who made the threads I don't want to see to my ignore list and when I tried that earlier today I was pretty amazed at how much more readable the forum got but at the same time I'd rather not put people on ignore for anything less than being giant idiots. It's unfair to them and it means that I don't get to see them post other stuff, ever.
There's no way to do this currently. People have requested it as a feature for the next forum version (which has been held up in litigation hell).
Though according to this thread: http://xenforo.com/community/threads/status-of-lawsuit.39082/page-2 The case is in the midst ( like right now) of a settlement conference which could end the whole drama pretty soon with any luck.
Well, essentially, vBulletin went through a lot of ownership changes and at one point the people who actually did a lot of the work branched off to do Xenforo. The new owners of vBulletin weren't happy about this and sued to death, pretty much the entire time Xenforo has been released. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenforo http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/10/05/vbulletin_sues_ex_employees/ The people who bought vBulletin are basically rat bastards. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Brands
