At first, I was thinking, "yeah, well, he still doesn't make up for Bjork."
Then, "oh. so much for that."

Speaking of the awesomeness that is Bjork, I just watched Dancer in the Dark yesterday. Pretty good holiday fare.

Actually, I'm totally down with early Bjork, pretty much up through Homogenic, maaaaaaaybe Vespertine, but she was always more talented at choosing producers than anything. Sadly, she crawled up her own ass and died.

Edit: I nearly posted what OZ 4.0 did, verbatim. Although that reminds me that there are whole bunch of stuff from the 80s that I regret not posting for his edification.

Well, it's true. I'm not saying that she wasn't a talented vocalist and songwriter, because she was, she was just more talented at choosing the proper people to work with on a given album. I know I wrote it to sound like a slam, but it really isn't.

So here's some kind of infographic, but I'm not sure what it's showing. It purports to show how popular the various things are. I understand the x axis as years, but what is the y axis? Percentage?

There's no way the Amstrad was ever that popular!
  12. Alligator Despondent Fancygator

I'm guessing the y-axis is percentage and the x-axis is year?

The years are off, too. The PS2, for example, looks like it starts in about 97.

Percentages on the y-axis doesn't make any sense since they mostly never add up to 100%.

AND THAT'S WHY YOU LABEL YER GODDAMN AXIS.

(my guess is that the blank area represents "other")

Also, what's that bright green area between the Wii and the 360 starting in 2011?

I think this whole chart is just shenanigans!

  18. Alligator Despondent Fancygator

That would be the Wii U.

I wonder if the second chart is console sales, or game sales for that console? I would think the latter since Windows was included but THAT IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON'T LABEL SHIT ARGH

They're actually just supposed to show the range for each stacked category. For instance, Nintendo DS maxes out at about 12%, not 96%.

edit: Percentage of what? Who the fuck knows?!

Why I hate the charts: completely unusable for color-blind people in all the non-labeled areas.

My kid's kindergarten teacher is from Mexico, and he is learning that song for his Christmas pageant. Every day in the car on the way home from school, he hollers: "FENIZE NAVIDAAAAAAAA!!"
