You should message Scribble! I bet he'd buy the game just to destroy you again, Mysterio!

Since Civ V doesn't have Tartarians and The Chalice, I'm not concerned. :-p

3 games is enough for me! Hard enough to keep track of what's going on. I'm going to have to start to keep notes
  4. Nate Worked The System

You don't have extensive spreadsheets and google docs with notes on all of the games you play?! Maybe I'm the weird one.

I'm interested in a game with mods (basic or extensive), but since I don't want to actually do the legwork to set it up, I doubt it'll happen. :D

(No time for legwork must study Puppet)

Actually, I better surrender in G&K Multiple. It'll speed up the game for you guys.

bengunn, Anchorage is closer to one of my cities (my capital, no less) than it is to one of yours. That's a Civ V personal foul.
  11. Nate Worked The System

This game has no rules!!! Cry havoc already!

I think it's unfortunate Mysterio hasn't run into me in our games so far. He's really missing a lot of flag throwing opportunities.

Based on what I've seen in games started before the patch and read from other players on the 2K Games forum, Great Generals (and Great Admirals, as reported by others) no longer provide a bonus. Hope they fix this ASAP.

Bored Game: Turn reverted. Let me know if anything goes wrong.

And so ends the mighty Babylonian civilization. Once a beacon of enlightenment, now it's people are spread between two empires. Now peace may reign on our continent between the remainder. Magua has put down his bow, jaguarpaw is returning home to his family. We look forward to much more prosperous times. Mayan scholars have recently discovered that wood floats, and are aggressively exploring the potential applications that this opens up.

It's so peaceful right now, I'm really curious about the other continent since ours seems like the more civilized and advanced one. And someone has completed the honor tree there? And in honor of the old leader of the Babylonians, I've renamed a town after him.

Ok, it's a pretty crappy town, but maybe there's iron in them hills or something. Who founded this thing anyway? And I just realized I lost one gold that turn by not moving the spearman back into town.

I've unlocked the Honor tree (before realizing it's not a good fit for the Celts, since I didn't have a grasp of the Faith mechanic at the time...ugh). Short of me telling you what image has unlocked and vice-versa, how would you know which social policy trees we've unlocked, since you haven't made contact with our civs?

Check the victory screen. Between that, the demographs, and religion screen I can infer quite a bit about the 2 "unknown" civilizations.

Okay, we're on the same page. I thought there was some magical screen that displays what the diplomacy screen displays after having met a civ.

Here's the bug report I just sent to GMR. It's similar to what we've been seeing, but with a "cool" new twist!
So FFoF is currently dead in the water.

GMR updated their client with a major change and had issues getting it to work. But it's working, now, so everyone might want to relaunch the client to ensure it's updated.

When I have a turn to take in multiple games, I'm finding my CIV crashes 80% of the time. You guys running into this too?

I load the first game, take turn, save it, upload it using GMR, click on Main menu, asks click the appropriate option in the dialog box and it mostly crashes and 20% of the time actually puts me to the main Civ Menu.
  27. Nate Worked The System

I haven't seen this problem at all, and I play 3 games at once usually. Trying to get into a fourth, but nobody's pulling the trigger on game setup.

I tried the settings that keep the game running after a save and doesn't attempt to launch it after loading a save, but the game would always crash when I tried to exit the game after taking my turns. Since the game doesn't take long to load on my system, I said, "Screw it," and went back to the previous settings.
It's not that difficult to setup a GMR game, if by that you mean being the one to create the game on the GMR website and within Civ V after everyone joins on the website. Heck, I can do it if you and others are interested in starting another G&K game and have room for me.

I will say, though, that I greatly prefer Pangaea Plus maps, since everyone starts on the same continent and city-states are located on islands off the main continent. This forces players not to ignore sea techs as much as they would on a Pangaea map, where all city-states are on the same continent as the civs.

Let me know, and we'll go from there. I'm easy.

I'm still waiting on replies from those players I listed in that post. Who hasn't reached the GMR game limit, yet, and wants to play in another G&K game?

  31. Hanzii Magister Mundi Elyscape

Nope. I have three games going and with the new settings I just save, go to main menu, load and play the next. I don't remember wgen Civ last crashed at all... and it claims I've played 1200 hours now.

Well, I donated and a bunch of us tried getting a BBQ going, but GMR wouldn't let us. I don't know if we ever found out what happened.
  32. Nate Worked The System

I think it was a bug that was fixed a few patches later. We should definitely try again.

I'd try again but with the holidays my weekends are mostly busy. If someone starts another game then sign me in.

I haven't heard back from the GMR team on the BBQ game, i'll follow up and see if they ever figured anything out, and then we'll go from there. I don't have the map pack, so no pangea plus for me, no city states nearby makes it a bit weird to me, but I think it's an improvement since I particularly like bullying city states. Fractal is also good in my book.

I may be mistaken, but I think only the host needs to own the map for a MP game...? FFoF is played on a Pangaea Plus map, so let's ask image and bengunn: do either of you not own the map pack that contains that map style? I'd ask ramcat, too, but he rarely replies. :-)

No, only the host needs it, multiple turns is continents plus. Just saying for the games that I host I won't be using pangea plus.
  36. Nate Worked The System

Which map pack is that in?

I do own the map pack, but it looks like db agrees that only the host needs it.

I can actually do a bbq today starting at 11:00 CST until around 3. This is a rare occasion, but also short notice.

Swamped with work on my thesis, I'll get my turn done tomorrow during the day hopefully. Sorry guys!
