Hah, that's part of the plan. That and the blog will surely keep me busy. :-)

So it seems that deadbuffalo is the only one missing the DLC nations. Anyone not have the Ancient Wonders thing?

I still don't think I would buy them. I don't like the Civ 5 DLC model. The ones I own are because I got them with the special edition at launch. Is it really a big deal to the other players?
  8. Nate Worked The System

Join us. I've got some nice Koolaid over here...

Nate is awesome, don't steal his workers. My DLC issues have magically resolved themselves.

EDIT: The rest of you can enact your tribute in gold per turn :p

I'm in Pacific time (-8) now. What was all this about charts again?

How do I join? Nate keeps telling me to accept the invite but not how :)

(And to be fair I did say I this weekend was super hectic for me).

Log in to Multiplayer Robot - http://multiplayerrobot.com/ via "My Games." You should see a little red 1 notification flag - click it and accept the invite. That's the rough order of things. It is fairly straight forward when you know where to look :)

Sans Spaceships is a go. Though I forgot to adjust the turn order to put Hanzii last. Oh well. Next weekend we'll be in full swing.

Regarding this bloated file size issue that's stalling several of our games, I've been troubleshooting it for the Pure, Random Chaos! and G&K Multiple Turns games with Matthew and ramcat. We're comparing the size of two files on each player's turn:
    • (GMR) Play This One!, which is the file a player downloads from GMR before taking his turn
    • <leader name of game host>_<turn number> <game year>_<date>-<time>, which is the file a player uploads to GMR after taking his turn (created upon saving within the game)
The bug occurs when the latter file's size is much larger than the former file's size on a given player's turn.

So I had a thought: what if each player compared the size of these two files before submitting (i.e., clicking the Submit button within the client) the latter to GMR? This is easily done, since the two files will be the only two files located in the <drive>:\Users\<username>\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\Saves\hotseat folder before the file's submitted.

If there's an abnormal delta in the size, the player would cancel the submission process by clicking the down arrow within the submission window and selecting the cancel action, and re-take his turn. This will ensure the player doesn't upload a bugged file that always leads to the next player posting that the game crashes when loading.

    Thoughts?

Sounds pretty reasonable Mysterio. It'll be nice for me to finally see what the terrain across the river finally has in Pure,Random Chaos. My warrior is tired and wants to see some new land :)

    Sans Spaceships -

Haha, I'm the Ottomans. Better watch those fertile farmlands everyone ;-) To be honest, I really have no idea how well Ottomans play, or how I'll play them. Then again, I haven't even laid down a capital yet.

I had the same thought when I was dealt the Celts in G&K Multiple Turns, which also happened to by my first ever game with G&K:

"Faith? Celts and their Pictish Warriors? Easy choice: Honor it is!"

    Oops.

Fret not my friend. I ended up bringing a laptop anyway, so I just took my turn.

And now when Deadbuffalo attacks me unprovoked and steals my cities, I can at say "at least I'm in my 23rd floor suite getting picked on..."

    Which hotel?

Girlfriend was playing Ultimate Texas Hold'em Progressive on our first day at Atlantis over the Christmas holiday, and she scored a straight flush with her two cards and the flop. Besides the normal table payout, a straight flush on the progressive, which pays only on the player's two cards and the flop, pays 10% of the pot and $300 envy pay to all other players in the hand. Luckiest...person...I...know. :-)

Yeah, I thought the same thing, and figured Nate posted the wrong date or changed his mind. Don't worry, though, since db's already stolen your workers and declared war on you. Welcome to Civ V GMR!

Hanzii said he couldn't play till the 13th. And then he goes a brings a laptop to Vegas. "Top" is not what should come after "lap" in Vegas, Hanzii.

During CES I'm afraid lap and top are more often heard together than whtever combination you're more common with.

Also I usually go to Vegas alone, and going to one of those establishments by myself has just never appealled. I'd rather gamble.

Now we just have to wait 18 hours for Brian to take his turn, since he won't add a Windows partition to his Mac. He and ramcat should host a resistance party. :-D
