*inhales* OK, so I've been lurking on this forum for a long time and finally decided that I wanted to be part of this messed up virtual family. I’ll be the really quiet one you'll only have to see twice a year. To initiate myself (wow, that sounded sad), I decided to do a LP of “Heileen”, a visual novel game my friend gave me. You romance people. On a boat. On your way to the new world. That's just about what I know This is my first LP, and English isn't my first language so please be kind! WARNING! It’s possible to end up with a girl in this game. If this offends you… Go away. I don't think there's any nudity and stuff in here, and if there is... I'll find a creative way around it. If you want to buy this game, you’ll find the demo and full version here Sooo… Here we go! ”Heileen” boys and girls! We start our adventure in Liverpool, England! Introducing Protag-chan! This constipated, dead-eyed lady is Heileen, a spoiled 18-year-old. Her uncle Otto wants her to come to America with him (why I’ll never know), but the idea doesn't thrill Heileen. It’s AMERICA guuurrrrl! It’s an opportunity to go new places, see shit and stuff… And I've heard they romance pigeons over there…. *sigh* Are you gonna whine through the entire trip? It's an ADVENTURE! We haven’t even started trav…. *A wild redhead has appeared!* Well, HELLO there! (O.< )/ This is Marie, our childhood friend (whom I already like better then Heileen). Apparently she's coming with us.. why? Why would I feel safer with you around? Do you have some special skill? Do you do Karate!? \O3O/ PLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASE say she knows karate! …You never answered my question. Hmmm. Decisions. This is the first part of my LP, if anybody has any comments on how you want Heileen to behave, shout out! *exhales*
Welcome Coffee, don't worry about ending with a girl mostly of us are ok with lesbian routes. Also for the choice, course we are glad! welcome aboard <33
If you don't attempt to romance the ginger I will be beyond disappointed. Also Snark your avatar is responsible for my current awkward fits of laughter.
I played the demo once, one of the first visual novels I ever played. Mind, it was mostly because it was by the same artist who drew a webcomic I liked. I got the girl by complete accident. I should probably try actually playing it fully before I give any real opinions, though.
Gasp! How did I miss this! I own the sequel to this game, because it has a bunch more endings and I'm a sucker for endings. I really enjoyed it the first time, but I replayed it recently, and I realized it was a bit, how do I put this... Sexist. Her best friend is my favorite character, though. Romance her!
You have to remember when this takes place, though. Sexist was the norm back then because men were thought to be superior.
Ooh, I checked in just in time to welcome: Ahoy Coffee! Yo ho ho, a bottle of rum, and all that jazz. I didn't like this game much and I remember Marie propositioning me every time. First option why not.
If only their sprites switches places, it'd be like they were exchanging secret stolen glances <3 ... or not-so-secret blatant staring.
Hi Coffee, welcome to the forum! Let's keep this welcoming spirit going and go with the first option.
Oh, I didn't mean how the characters in the game treat each other; I understand historical context. I more meant the way the game treats the characters; like, Heileen wear this costume throughout the entire game that barely covers anything and there was a lot of gratuitous fan service, and the one female character with a backbone HATES MEN RAWR and has daddy issues. Not really my thing.
Welcome, Coffee! You'll fit right in, we're a wonderful ragtag bunch of misfits, variety is our charm! And romance the redhead. We can never romance enough redheads.
Welcome to the forum! I like this game. The art is not my favorite style, but it's nice. And I liked the story. Also, I vote for second option 'cause I want this Heileen to be bitchy, since I always played nice. But I'm not winning anyway.
Hmm, on the one hand, redhead. On the other hand, option I would never take in real life. I think I would like to see the second option. And I just realized right now that I hadn't voted. Bad me! Go sit in the corner. I was curious, and I tried to look up the meaning of the name Heileen. Google, you have failed me. I found people with the name but no meaning. :( It's a hobby of mine, my parents gave me a first name that I have yet to figure out the origin and meaning to as well, so I like to look up weird names. Whaaat?
I imagine it's just a form of Helen. I looked up various spellings (Eileen, Aileen, Helene, Helen) and got similar results.
