Rand Paul finally gets a chance to complain about modern toilets, something he says he's been wanting to do for 20 years.
What a fucking clown. "I totally believe we should conserve energy but why not do it in a voluntary way?" "I cain't buy the old light bulbs." Shut the fuck up. Ms. Hogan has impressive self-control.
Modern pump-assisted toilets work way better than old toilets while using a fraction of the water. You want to wrestle with a terrible toilet? Come to our house. Our toilets are from the 50s-60s, and they are awful. We're talking multiple flushes every time you use them, and regular plunger use. Oh, and they use a ton of water.
Ok, I just tried to watch this and made it one minute in. In just that time: 1. Nice opening barb, genius. "Are you pro-choice?" "*sigh* I'm pro-choice in bulbs, idiot." "Oh uh well most of hm Democrats pro-abortion um uh duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" 2. Grand libertarian messiah Rand Paul unable to get the toilets in his house to work, demands the government fix it for him. Edit: ok, I started it again. What else I noticed: the lady behind him is trying and not entirely succeeding to not laugh.
"I wish you would try to convince me to voluntarily conserve energy or water." has got to be the dumbest god damn thing you can say in a nation of birthers and truthers and Ayn Rand followers
This is just embarrassing to watch. I almost wish this forum had enough Republican/Libertarian supporters so that we could see what an argument defending this idiot looks like.
I don't even know where they'd start. Sewer systems are even more a core government competency than roads.
It's honestly not that hard to know the Libertarian argument, just imagine yourself the uber mench and frame everything as if disagreeing is a personal insult. For example: Look it's a matter of choice. And if the choice is between something that saves the environment and your money and something that doesn't, people will of course choose to save the environment and their money. Are you trying to say I'm so stupid I'd intentionally buy a toilet or light bulb that wastes money and water? Then there's the standard "common sense but fucking stupid" arguments: And, if you really want me to buy them, just loosen up the restrictions so they can compete in the free market. You restrain them by placing all these restrictions on manufacturers so they have to raise prices and hurt the consumer. Then you just sprinkle in a little "it's a gumdrop world with lollipop doors and maaaaagic": If the toilet manufacturers didn't have to adhere to these standards they'd naturally follow them because the market would demand higher standards
No, that would just be a statement about how somewhere at some time a democrat has acted just as stupidly as Rand Paul.
