ha, thanks for answering.. I know that some games are not available for me, due to the fact that my tab naturally isn't a phone and have naturally NOT any sim card ( see the Tsukamaete Pirate's game thread). But for those that are available, I'll check the normal version, I prefer to pay for a game once, and be able to play as long as I want, than to be stuck at a level for ages because I don't want to spend real money every time I want to play ( wich I'm sure will be much more expensive in the end) Still I can use gree to check the interesst of the game first ^^

Oh, thank you~ and good; I thought I was focusing on her too much. Kinda came up with that backstory on the spot but hey! It makes sense.
The passport thing is evil, pure evil I tell you! And yes, I'm currently using the original Solmare app since GREE has slow reactions and cuts each chapter into around 4 mini-segments and reasons. I'm not sure whether they took down the original Shall We Dates. All I can say is I have no idea why Solmare switched formats. Is GREE a sub-section under them? But Voltage is on it too.
Ha, I loved the Barbie movies when I was younger! Didn't play much with the dolls (yes, I actually had 2 of them. I'm not sure what for since I stripped them naked and left them in a box) but watched the movies whenever they aired on Disney. I can't watch them anymore though, kind of like how I can't watch Disney Channel anymore without facepalming the entire time. Except for Phineas and Ferb. I still look back on those movies with fond memories.

I never saw any of the barbie movies. Until just recently. I can't help it I had a ton of the barbie dolls but never got to see the movies and they make me go all nostalgia but I always feel guilty after watching them cause they have terrible/repetitive plots orz Throwing in a vote for B

I used to watch them. I enjoyed them as a child but looking back.... gah! Why did I do that to myself? *cries*
  7. Randissimo Hatoful Pigeon

I still find the Princess&Pauper one to be hilarious. So Bad It's Good. That one outtake gets me everytime. ... I occasionally babysit young girls who still play with barbies, okay? They love this movie.

thanks for answering too PARA.. so I decided to "kill" the ninja app on Gree
like I said, I'll use it just for testing games and see if they're worth buying cause I suspect the other games to have the same kind of "toll" system..

The worst part is that I always put them on when they're on tv. They brainwashed me. I can't stop myself what is going on.

It's okay, at least that particular barbie movie is entertaining. The fucking outtakes in the credit, man.

Uh, this is a new development. Before you jump Shekushi, just remember I'm still here. Or if you want some privacy, I could leave and, you know, just watch from behind that house over there...

I just realized, Kotaro looks like a big bunny rabbit~

Kotaro quickly loses the cute blush and takes the dishes from Shekushi. It's like they're a married couple already~

Shekushi starts freaking out in her head and Kotaro shoos us back into the house. What's going on...?

    ----

We peek at the events through the window.

So samurais are frat boys now? What ever happened to bushido!?

    ...
I start twitching just from how...badly written that sounds. I kind of feel like kicking this Nobukatsu in the balls right now...suppose I'll satisfy myself through some schadenfreude instead.

Samurai 2: Who the hell are you!?

    Your worst nightmare.

Samurai 1: You think you'll get away with this!?

    Speak for yourself.

The samurai welps like a newborn pup some more. But without the slimey cuteness.

Kotaro starts counting down but suddenly

The invisible samurai draw their swords! Kotaro pulls his sword out and all we see is a flash of metal.

...Is this really the same guy who was blushing earlier?

Kotaro threatens them some more and the samurais spill their guts. Figuratively. Though I wouldn't put it past Kotaro to...ew, moving on.

Nobukatsu is coming to the village tomorrow through the north valley.

The samurai are so nervous that they forget their capitals. Kotaro steps back and the samurai breathe a sigh of relief. Well, one of them. The other is staring blankly at the wall while clutching his bleeding hand. The temple's daughter in me wants to go out and wrap it up. Kotaro lifts his arm and

    !!!
H-how cruel. I mean, these guys were awful people but they were just stupid follower sheep. What have we gotten ourselves into? It's always the quiet ones.

Kotaro glances down at the two samurai leaking blood all over he courtyard silently.

He drags the bodies out of our view.

    ------

Shekushi and I throw a worried glance at each other as the door rattles.

The parallelism works really well here! I eye him carefully and stick myself to the wall behind me. The room is heavy with silence. This is just like a repeat of dinner but so...not. What's the word I'm looking for? Deadly? Scary as hell? Wait, that's three words, ha; it's like crosswords: what is a word for---

AAAAH, GET AWAY FROM SHEKUSHI! My eyes grope about wildly for a weapon. I grab one of the dishes, jump in front of Shekushi, and hold it out in what I hope is a menacing position.

The two of us back towards the corner slowly as Kotaro starts toward us. This is bad. If we get cornered, we won't be able to escape...something is yelling at me from the back of my mind....but Kotaro can't kill Shekushi. Kotaro won't attack us. We're safe. I relax my shoulders a bit. Well, I don't have an automatic guarantee like Shekushi but it's not like I'm a threat. Wow, you know your life is messed up when you have reassure yourself you won't get killed.

    1. SUPAH NINJAH PUHWERS I actually had to carefully consider the spelling I think I still got powers wrong.
    2. We weren't exactly discreet about our horrified meeps.

Shekushi, being the moralistic darling she is, protests loudly. "And it's okay to just kill them?!"

Kotaro doesn't respond but pulls a gun out of a rucksack. What's next, a rabbit? And when did ninjas use guns. And why are you cleaning it...OH MY MOCHI, ARE YOU GONNA SHOOT. I oh-so-casually block my internal organs with the dish that I've been holding throughout this tension filled moment.

Uh, no, Shekushi, I think it's alright to have doubts about the moral circumstances of what we just saw--

No, seriously, this is a big philosophy question; it's okay--yeah, sure, just skip to the next chapter. What? Noooo, why would I be offended that you didn't listen to me oh hey the magic box buzzed.

...Why did Kotaro send us an email if he's standing right over there? With the big scary gun. That shoots fire. Nyah. And I didn't know ninjas had magic boxes too.

I find one of the good things about doing an LP is that it does force you to slow down and read things a few more times. It can be a whole new perspectiv! Usually... a horrific one, but all the same...

So I just read through the About LP thread and all the self-consciousness has attacked. I just wanted to ask:

Is everybody who's reading this LP alright with the style, slight change of plot, voice, etc? I'll try to improve the writing (I keep using the same sentence form but was too lazy bother with it).

Please don't see this as a need for flattering posts, just a confirmation that I can continue in this manner without annoying anybody. I am doing this with the goal of entertaining the readers in mind.
  19. Davian Korran Misérable Bard

I think what you're doing is fine. I don't read or comment unless I am hooked, so what you're doing works for me or I wouldn't be here.

I don't have any particular problems with the general concept or format you're using. If I can make a specific suggestion, though... while narrating from the person of an original character is fine, the more you do things like have your narrator get upset that the characters in the game aren't paying attention to her, the more it just serves to draw attention to the fact that the narrator is a character you're inserting and not actually present in the game itself. It kind of breaks suspension of disbelief, at least for me.

As a reader I'd prefer to see that kind of thing used very sparingly and the narrator character used mainly as a lens through which to view the characters and events of the story, since we already know that at no point are the game characters actually going to be able to react to anything the narrator character does.

Thank you for the advice~ Looking back at it, that turned out to be unintentional hints to the slight envy explosion in the forest. I wanted to add some dimension to the narrator so I've been focusing on her lately but since she is just a vehicle for viewing the game, I'll stop. Huh, I don't even know what her name is.

Alrighty then, thanks to everybody who responded.

The next day, we're out mingling in the village again.

    Chiyo: Did you sleep well?

Liar. I know you were up all night because I was up all night. The scene from yesterday haunted us to a restless extent.

Kotaro calls for us to go into the mountains with him under the pretense of gathering herbs.

Wait, wait, wait, hold up, we're going to be sitting next to you as you shoot a guy?

After a long, drawn out, silent wait under the trees:

Such pretty pretty sparkly sweat. Maybe I should bottle it for sale; make a living from selling glowing ninja perspiration. I see no problems with my life choices.

What sounds like exploding mochi (don't ask--I didn't know that was gunpowder!) pulls me from my reverie. A thin trail of smoke rises from Kotaro's gun. Screams can be heard in the distance as the bridge collapses underneath the men.

    Is that even possible!?

Shekushi and I glance at each other. This seems too easy.

"Someone is pulling Nobukatsu up in a net"

Oh, come on! What are the chances that they laid down a net before crossing the bridge that Nobukatsu was conveniently hovering over at the time--GAH, Kotaro shoots again. Warn a girl, would ya?

Well fri--wait, Grandpa said not to curse. Shekushi, before we die, I need you to know that I did hide your doll when we were 7. It's sewn into the stuffing of that giant teddy bear buried under the sakura tree in the courtyard surrounded by lethal geese that shoot lasers out of their--what are those blue things? And why are they shooting at us!?

I see Kotaro has no such restricting grandfathers.

We dart through the forest in varying degrees of calmness and aptitude. Near sunset, the group makes it back to the house and we all settle down for dinner.

Why would the ninjas be helping Nobukatsu? Why would Nobukatsu even hire ninjas? Doesn't he hate them? Or was that Nobunaga? The first two syllables are the same--how can the world expect me to keep everybody straight? Tsk, tsk, people have no consideration when naming their babies.

Kotaro: You aren't eating much today...

Shekushi: But those samurai must have had families waiting for them...

What a morbid way to view the world even if it's true. What a sad way to live life. We need a big emotional band-aid for you.

Shekushi: Even if it's to protect the ninjas...those innocent kids...

She starts sobbing gently. Oh, what to do? Shekushi is usually so peppy, I forget. Kotaro rushes forward and wipes her tears with his sleeve.

Oh goodness, is that really what you're worried about right now?

Chiyo: How did you meet such a cool guy?
    Shekushi: Well...that's a complicated story.

Indeed. Allow me: it was a bright sunny day. The wind whistled in the trees as the two greatest and noblest temple maidens of the village roamed the streets with their loyal and fierce army of adorable kittens. They chanced upon an evil dark ninja that went by the name of Saizo. The ensuing battle was as bloody as it was totally epic. He called upon his energetic servant but it was too late! Sheku--I mean, one of the temple maidens blew her deadly pheromones at his face and down he went! But it was a trick--he attacked the maiden just as she turned her back away in a strong strangle-hug and---

Ahem. I am telling a story here. Where was I? The powerful--

Shekushi: The Elder gave us potatoes!

How exciting. Much better than listening to my story about cutting ninjas.

Did he really just compliment our potatoes. Potatoes. Is there something in the sake here? In which case, you guys go ahead and get drunk; I'd like to stay sane. They're very kind though so I should probably just shut up.

They dump some more food on us (didn't they not have enough to last the winter? Should they really be giving us so much? I wouldn't want the families to go hungry because of us.) and we head back to the house.
