So! Let's discuss Ib. Where to start?
If I may, I want to point out a small detail in the game that I thought was interesting:

DISCUSS or not.

So what ending do people think is the saddest? Forgotten Portrait, Together Forever, or the one where they don't remember each other at the end?

Also, what about the ending where you go off with your mother (or Garry, depending) at the end? Is it Mary herself fooling you and does she replace you, or is it something else? It's the one ending that ends the game immediately, iirc, with absolutely no explanation of what happened next.

Well you never really stick around with him in any of the endings (even Promise of Reunion). And he is a Garry Stu...

I've actually only watched the best ending - but from what I've read, I think the Together Forever is the one that hits me the hardest. Garry dies and Mary gets away with it - it's so full of injustice. The Forgotten Portrait one is a close second though.
Basically, I am really attached to Garry and I just want to take him home with me make sure nothing bad ever happens to him ever.

I'm okay with Together Forever because I can feel sympathy for Mary. She's completely alone in this fucked-up world (which I'm pretty sure is the artist's fault, not hers; I think she's just another piece of the puzzle, not the reason the whole world exists), and all she really wants is a friend. Of course the scene with the lighter/candy at the end shows she might still be a Yandere, but I don't mind knowing that at least someone besides Ib survived the nightmare instead both Garry and Mary dying.

My one disappointment was the lack of explanation about the creepy little cake story and why the last world is all crayon drawings. I was thinking that those were things the artist might have drawn as a child, and that's why they wound up here, but it never comes up, and I was thinking since they were drawn in the same style they might be related, but nope.

I always figured the crayon world was actually created by Mary's psyche. It would explain the drawings of Ib and Garry that you find there. Since she's a portrait herself it makes sense that her world would be made out of pictures, but she's not as good as Guertena, so it looks like that.
Makes sense since there are also many drawings of the blue dolls, which Mary thought were cute.

I agree with Jacquelle: Mary's not inherently evil: all she wants to do is be a real girl and live out the experiences she's read about. The problem is that she has to kill to achieve this (and yes, I'd argue she's fully aware of how she will kill Garry, and she just doesn't care). It's a dangerous childishness.

Still, Memories' Crannies broke me the first time I got it. After everything they went through, they can't remember? That they get so agonizingly close but they both end up resuming their previous lives? Why are you two walking apart? Grab him! Grab her! Where are you going?!

That makes sense! So she's trying to make her own world to trap people, just like the world she lives in...

Memories' Crannies is especially depressing when you're trying to go for Promise of Reunion but missed something, and you think you're going to get it and then NOOO GARRY GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE AND REMEMBER ME.

"Get your ass back here and remember me" might be the most honest reaction to that ending I've ever heard.

I saw Cry's playthrough of the game (and I need to finish reading your thread, Ozzo) and he got the Together Forever ending.

It broke him.

It broke me.

I just. I feel bad for all the characters. But at the same time, I just. Someone has to die. All my damn pain.

Oh god I can't watch the end of Cry's playthrough once I realized he was going to get that ending. In fact, Ozzo's playthrough is the only one I've ever seen that got the Memorie's Crannies, ironically the most common ending.

I-I kind of want to watch Cry's playthrough again, all the way through this time. Even though it's probably going to make me cry.

His reaction to the ending is heartbreaking.

I am so pissed that he never went back and got the good ending. Goddamnit Cry! Why do you do this to yourself? Why do you do this to your viewers?! WHYYYYY???

Can't blame him, though. I mean. That is the worst slap to the face ever. He broke too many mannequin heads.

B-b-but.... fine. Excuse me, but I'm going to go get my heart broken into a million different piece but still going to laugh because I find Cry funny. Ny emotions are going to be messed-up for the next couple of hours.

Between Ib and his Walking Dead playthrough, I'm getting so emotionally pummeled lately.

I will be joining you on this odissey, as I never watched the last of those videos either.
I'm already regretting this.

I.... I finished Cry's playthrough. I just... Cry.... I kept smiling because I love how he actually cares about the story compared to other players but kept crying because...

Go to the other link in the blog post and go to the Shimeji-ee thing at the bottom of the description~ Then download the Mischievous one or whatever, go to the "img" and then "Shimeji" folder, and replace all the pictures with Garry! Now you can have infinite* Garrys!
