Because I imagine Blackadar as being really proud of being able to infallibly detect whether or not any person within eyesight is of African descent (c.f. "gaydar").

YES THIS NEEDED A THREAD WHY DO YOU ASK?

I like Speak With Bread's screen name because I've occasionally pondered it while trying to figure out what it could possibly mean, and the visual imagery is quite entertaining. I don't really want to know though, because it would undoubtedly shatter the fantasy.

Aww, thanks. Reference is here, about halfway down the page. You're welcome to not look, if you wish to preserve the mystery. :)

And I think Neopythia's screen name is fun to say. Say it with me, internet! Neopythia, Neopythia, Neopythia.

Okay, well, I had to look. It isn't what I imaged; which was something closer to a young girl sitting a small table, hosting a tea party for a variety of breadsticks (wearing bow ties, top hats, and bonnets).

I really like Sjofn, just because I have to say it every time in my head to reassure myself that I know how to pronounce it.

You know how to pronounce it? Really? <rapt attention>
  8. Alligator Despondent Fancygator

Syo-fin, which is the AMURICAN way to pronounce it; I think Thoro posted a link to a soundbite of the "proper" way to pronounce it.

But I'm an improper American :)

Heh, heh. Thanks! I know it's not the reference, but your name always makes me think of this:

I really want to use a different name but after 10 years of mostly the same people at very few sites I'm pretty much stuck with it at this point.

The American way is the correct way.

It's not our fault if the Scandinavians don't know how to pronounce their own langauges.

Speak With Bread is definitely the best. I also like SwitchKnitter, so personal and yet punny.

But riddle me this: Does he have extrabags or does he need them? And why can't extarbags spell?

Presented without comment (because you can easily find whatever comments I've made on it in the past if you care to look) save a simple word of context: this picture was taken in my high school cafeteria.

This is me as well; for better or for worse I'm mostly stuck with my old DAOC handle in Internet Gaming Forum circles just through habit/inertia. I use IanB elsewhere (ENWorld, the various D&D Minis forums when I was playing competitively (and the game still existed), etc.)

Same here... I've used EruditeDragon so many times, in so many places, it's pretty much become my default username. That said, it fits me, so I see no reason to change it.

My username is just the three first letters of my surname plus the two first letters of my given name, put together. It was automatically generated when I signed up for a university course that required a computer login, and it's kind of stuck, and I'm too lazy/uninspired/uncreative to think up something more indicative of the real me or whatever.
I'm not even a terribly thorough kind of guy.

I'll let you all in on why I choose CSL.

It was during high school during right around 2000 when I started playing one of those browser based games where you start ruling a star system/whatever. I named my system the Canadian Star League and when I started talking on the team forum they obviously shortened it to CSL. I've used it since.

I love being able to abbreviate Bahimiron to "Bah" because I tend to parse it as "Bah! I'm Iron!" And because when he's in Cranky Mode, it's very easy to imagine a Burgess Meredith-esque "BAH!" prefacing anything he types.
