My headcanon is that, the King took off to chase after pretty women and the King Mirage right now is her older brother who didn't want to worry her so he took up a fake mustache in an attempt to look older. That's also why all the love interest get sent back at the end of the day 'cause he doesn't want to marry off his baby sister to some random stranger and he actually has a big crush on Nitarou who is his childhood friend that agreed to help so he doesn't send the entire kingdom into utter ruin and-

Nitarou and Mirage are self-insertion characters and both are female. King Mirage in this game is SUPPOSED to be male to my understanding, especially since they'res a rival Queen Mirage in another Zeiva land which is the setting of Other Age 2. Nitarou is confirmed to be female in one of the Genetic Glow games, if memory serves. Yes, I over-answered that question. I do that.
