You know when you lurk Other Age, I wake up with 125 alerts?

Anyway, this game isn't Atashi no Riri, purposefully trying to scare and scar you. It just blindsides you.

You go from, 'Aw, look at this cute art and kids game!' To, 'Wow, that's dark. Is this seriously happening? I don't want my kids playing this.'

And then the epilogue gives you a huge middle finger and trollface and I don't know why.

Doubly entertaining because I know what a Suzurin is. Monster Rancher kicks ass.

God, I miss Monster Rancher. I used to play the crap out of MR2!

That might be one to throw on the Request thread, though I don't know how it would work out. It's a different dynamic than Pokemon.

I think 2 was my favorite but I couldn't find it anywhere. I have I think 3 and EVO.

I love the 'insert a disc to make a monster' dynamic. Sometimes it KNEW what you put in. For example: The Major League movies give you one of the guys who look like a nutshell, but he's a baseball and he has a catcher mitt and baseball cap. xD

Ahhh, that's such an interesting series.

I remember playing Monster Rancher DS, and I liked the drawing to make a monster.
Maybe I should replay it. Hm.

Although admittedly, I'm still meant to be playing Magical Starsign again and I still haven't gotten that far in.

I think I enjoyed MR4 the most because I liked the dungeon exploration part of it and the plot was fairly interesting too. But I'll be honest and say that I was pretty bad at playing all of the games. They were hard (at least for me).

Wweh. On a slightly on-topic-y note (shocking for me!) I finally tried playing Magical Starsign. I'd forgotten how annoying the mostly-touchscreen based gameplay was. And I lost my stylus. GAHHH---

But Mefus* is an adorable badass dark magic girl and she is totally going to not-fail because her controller will find a stylus darn it!

I've been thinking about getting this game after all of you have said how disturbing and fun this game is...

however I've lost my stylus as well.

Does the gameplay need to be precise? I've been making do with a hairpin for these past years.

It's been a long time since I played, so honestly, I'm struggling to remember touch screen parts except interface. Hairpin as long as you're not destroying your screen sounds good enough. DS just isn't made to make precision touches with your fingers, I would say.

If any of you are wondering why I am showing all the pictures of dialogue, I am going ot do so until the whole introductory part of the game is done so you get it in your mind which character is which. Later, I'm going ot cut down screenshots in favor of writing out dialogue.

I have this game! It's actually sitting about two feet away from me right now. I got stuck at one of the early bosses, though, so it never got to the childhood-destroying level. I'll have to pick this one back up.
Also, Mokka is the best.

Ah, that explains it. I was older when I had it, and I actually really liked the crunchiness of the taste, though I usually now have something with it because sometimes it's a bit too hard to eat otherwise. :C

If not for what he does in game, then definitely for all those god awful boss fights he puts you through!

Guys, I have bad news. I was screenshotting tonight to get a few updates qued up, and something not good happened.

When I originally downloaded this game, I played past the tutorial tomake sure it was working correctly. It was fine. I got to that point today, and got through the first piece of the tutorial, but then the game stops. I've tried like 5 times and cannot get the game to progress from black screen.

I use ideas and not Desmume, because Desmume has never downloaded correctly for me. But if I cannot find a way around this problem on my ideas program, I cannot finish this LP since the game will not progress.

I'm so sorry...

Desumume is an open-sourced project hosted on SourceForge, which has many mirror servers. Perhaps you can try downloading from a different server, or find another mirror online - if that's your current problem.

The problem more likely than not with my computer or otherwise on my end, and not the download of Desmume itself. There are a lot of problems with my computer and I've had issues downloading files more than a few hundred KB for... A very long time. I've only been getting game files through help from others' computers which is not an option right now for Desmume.

Thank you for trying to help! I'm going to keep trying to either get the download to finish, or get ideas to process the game again.

Could it be a copy protection thing? Some games deliberately screw you over by waiting for you to invest some time into the game before the copy protection kicks in.

Oh, it might be something glitching with your rom. I mean, I played it on my R4, and I have two DSes. One of them works fine with an R4, but the other crashes and glitches everything on the R4 eventually. (I have no clue why it does that though.) And when my Magical Starsign rom got glitched up, it would always crash in the tutorial, and I gave up playing it.
So maybe you could try redownloading the rom?

I'm not sure if that'd work, but it doesn't hurt to try, I guess...

Could there be an AP patch that's needed?
I could search around if you haven't already.
