Really? I played Eternal duelist soul for just an hour and found it boring, I could beat yugi with my eyes closed... my favourite yi-gi-oh game was Stairway to the destined Duel, very challenging. I also played The sacred cards, but that game was totally broken, it added rules like "even if this card has a very low attack power, it can defeat yours with a very high attack power because my card is darkness and yours is light" or something like that O_o

Yep as you all can see I was a lot into yu-gi-oh at the time of the original series, I think that GX totally ruined the fandom for me and I stopped watching the anime :P

When I played this game... I cheated at it terribly. Y'know... savestates. I mean, I would not lose against Chumley.

Oh, Yu Gi Oh! I used to be madly in love with the first series, even if I was just a kid. I would get excited and would endlessly fangirl over Yami Yugi's voice (FYI, it isn't Dan Green where I live. I got to know Dan Green's voice in a hentai movie courtesy of a friend of mine. Now you know) and once I showed an episode to my mom she just said "what is this shit? And why is his hair... like... that?" and then I got adolescently (yes that is a word now) mad at her.

I don't know if I had grown up or the series decayed, but at GX I just stopped watching. I later heard of the plot twists and honestly wanted to watch it, but then I saw the number of chapters and got discouraged.

The only reason I never finished GX is because cartoon network decided it would be a good idea to change the airing time from 5pm to 6am like holy shit cartoon network you need to stop. Then I tried to watch it again two years ago online because I wanted to see what happened to Jaden and all of tha,t but I got bored before getting too far into season two. I'm sorry but once you can accurately estimate how many minutes into the episode they're going to duel then you need to add some variety. I liked 5D's because I didn't get bored one season in (Although I still have to catch up since I only made it to episode 52 before I got distracted by video games).

I didn't like GX not only for the story, but mainly because I think the card game became too much absurd... at time of Yugi there were few cards with special effects, most of the strategy depended on magic and traps...
in GX every single fucking monster card has a special effects, and I remember the fights going like this "I summon this card, and thanks to his special effects I can summon this other one, and thanks to his special effects I can choose a card from my deck and then I use this special card" and I was like "what the fuck just happened?" °_°

That's exactly what happened with me and the Bo-Bo-Bo-therearetoomanybos show, because Boomerang decided to change it's time from 8 PM to 12:35 AM.

Did you start with a deck that the game gave you, or input all yoru real cards? 'Cause I didn't have any cards when I got that game, it taugh tme how to play. And I didn't say it was hard, only that it cheats like hell. I never lose, nowadays.

Well I did have a real deck of cards and already knew how to play, but in game I just used the in-game deck. Only in Sairway to the destined duel I put the real cards I had in the game because it was much harder XD

I at first watched that hentai and was bored, as with all hentai, because there was nothing to make fun of in a meta way. Then my friend says "hey, this guy also voiced Yami Yugi from the english dub of Yu Gi Oh!" and suddenly it was the most hilarious thing in the world. Because in my head, the guy suddenly turned into a ridiculous haired midget.

Re: Yu-Gi-Oh, I haven't watched anything but the original series. I still can't remember how the damn card game works ninety percent of the time, even without all these new rules.

I had a insect... alien queen thing and her minions. I was unstoppable. Don't have the cards anymore, though. I really want to start collecting them again, but I don't want 5D/Zexal cards, and ain't nobody got time for ordering them from EBay.
Also, we should have online card game battles. It would be awesome.

I know how to play as far as GX goes.
I have never owned a real life deck because my parents never liked those things (MY CHILDHOOD IS LITERALLY FILLED WITH TEXTBOOKS).
This makes me sad.
Also, I watched the original series (one of the only series where I actually watched THE FINAL CHAPTER and then was all depressed) I had a crush on Yami leave me alone.
But then Tristan showed up and wow hot a what.
Now that I just ruined a children's show for an entire generation, I'll go back to lurking on this and hopping Dokosu will update soon :D
