Hello my lovelies~ Welcome to my harem! This is a thread for Kpop lovers to discuss/spaz/gush about their favorite groups, songs, etc, and for those who are curious enough to see what all of the hullabaloo is about.

For the new comers, don't worry if you have absolutely no idea what Kpop is, because honestly I have no idea what is going on half of the time. I'm not going to go in-depth trying to explain what it is so I'll just leave these here for a sample of what this fandom has to offer. And if anybody wants to give explaining this crazy genre a go, be my guest Now without further ado, let the gushing begin!

That guy raps FAST. I should probably mention that my friend is a huge Tablo fan so she freaked when she heard the second song.

I approve of your friends taste.
(That song introduced me to Yankie, and I know have a few of his songs in my MP3)

You know, Junsu is my mom's favorite singer out of DBSK, and now JYJ. She constantly blasts his music around the house including intoxication. My dad just shakes his head at us and goes back to his classical music.

She's downloading the song as we speak. I'm biased towards Changmin myself, but I have to admit that Junsu's songs are quite addictive.

Is your friend there with you?
Because, I might have a few other songs she'd like.

Changmin is adorable, yes. But I think my mom has converted me to her side!

We're messaging each other but it's basically the same as her being here with me XD I think she would appreciate a few more songs, yes.
Changmin just reminds me of the younger brother I never had that I might be having soon and I just love him to pieces he's so adorable!

I'm really liking all of Tablo's songs so far.

BoA is doing well I believe. I remember that her new album came out a few months ago and the single was kinda of catchy.
I have no idea who H.O.T is, but since I'm not up to date with all of the groups I can't really say if they're still active or not.

Oh! I've been getting into kpop as of late so this thread makes me happy because everyone I know in real life not really judges, but questions why I like it. I only have a few friends to talk to or more like gush to about my favourite groups. But most of the groups I've been getting into are rookies so I don't have much to contribute.

H.O.T isn't TOO long gone. A few of their members are doing other stuff now, though, they'll still be shown on TV.
Bands like Sech. Skies or G.O.D are Long gone and nearly no one but natives know their name.

Ah, Kaimeanogo, I don't know U-kiss all that well. I suppose I should look into them, a bit?

My friend was really into H.O.T. back in '98-ish, so even if you were up to date it wouldn't help much.

I've just recently become interested in U-Kiss but I like what I've seen so far.
Hikikomori, it would be an understatement for me to say that SHINee is my favorite group in SM, so, you know, if you want to know anything about them you can pretty much come to me

Who is your bias in SHINee.

Aww, thank you, that'd be a great help! Um, if you have any recommendations of some of their funny interviews, or any variety shows they've been on I'd really appreciate it. I love their singing and dancing but I don't have a real good feel of their personalities like with other groups.

Alright, Let me take care of the lesser known Korean idols for you guys, then. Ever heard of Boohwal? They're a rock/ballad group. (However, they are more famous for their ballads).

It's pretty obvious that I know more about the guy groups than the girl groups

The only real K-pop artist/band I follow is...B1A4. THEY ARE SO PRETTY AND SO FUNNY AND THEIR PERSONALITIES ARE SO FRESH AND NICE AND AND AND they're SO cute omg. They write their own songs and the leader is so UNF but I like Gongchan the best because he's fluffin' adorable and playful, but pulls off the distant looker thing soo well which is just my type!

But the other guys don't fall short either!

Their recent song is great too! It was composed by the leader Jinyoung and the lyrics were co-written by Baro the rapper.

B1A4 was actually the group that got me to become more serious about kpop! I watched Beautiful Target, fell in love, learned their names, watched interviews/variety shows and it went from there. I know what you mean about their personalities. They just have this great group dynamic and they genuinely seem like good friends which is nice to see. Sandeul is my favourite because that range and his smile is so infectious, d'awww. I love how he's the butt of the joke most of the time too. Gongchan is my second favourite but I just wish he was allowed to sing more because his voice is heavenly. I get chills whenever I listen to his part in Because of You.

I completely agree, Tried to Walk is amazing and the MV is beautiful and it has a good storyline. Not to mention, they all looked so fineeee *drools*.
Ahem. Yeah, the whole In The Wind mini album is incredible from the lyrics to production. I still listen to it a lot. I'm really proud of Jinyoung from Baby I'm Sorry...to this! What a big difference.

Surprisingly, there are a lot of groups that take part in writing their own lyrics from what I've seen as of late. I've noticed that for recent rookie groups, there's always one or two members that are credited for song lyrics. I think this is a really good direction they're going in by taking part in such processes as song writing instead of just singing what's handed to them.

Shoot me, but I only listen to songs (partly because the general way I know about kpop is due to kdramas so ahahahaha...oh and I usually avoid them unless they're something twisty) so I guess I'll wander in and out of this thread to look at other stuff and branch out a bit more.

I do like G'Girl's Gee tho. And I know some Big Bang stuff, since my sibling was kind of into them. Also Epik High's Love Love Love is catchy.

Ooh, thanks for starting this thread! I'm not really into kpop but I have friends that are. I listen to Jpop more (because..anime and jdoramas..and..I'm korean challenged?) I just don't keep up with music in general..er. I listened to really old BoA, Epik High, DBSK and Se7en stuff?

Gee gee baby baby always came up like a year or two ago. IT WAS HORRIBLE. Will go listen to all those songs now. whee.

Though, at the moment, I can't really think of any of their Korean songs (sorry, and this is meant to be a K-pop thread orz), this is probably my favourite of their Japanese ones 'cause it's so sad~
This is actually the official MV, so it has breaks in the song for the 'story' that it's telling (you used to be able to find the whole thing subbed actually, but I don't think it's on Youtube anymore ;~;)

You are going to regret that. Current count: 13 videos, and I still have male groups and duos/unit groups/etc to go through.

Cut into five sections and spoiled to save space. I'm also not going to post videos of some singers/groups who already have one or two up, just to save MYSELF some time. Most of these are links with only specific ones being media because there are too many to embed.

So that's everything off the top of my head, but it's not unlikely I'll think of more later.

I can't believe I forgot about NU'EST! But they are definitely one of my favourite rookie debuts along with B.A.P. I also love how Aron was born in the U.S. got accepted to NYU but decided to instead go to Korea and audition for Pledis. Someone who goes out and chases their dreams despite there being uncertainty in doing so, is really admirable. Plus, he writes his own English raps. How more perfect can he get?

Also, Ren is probably the prettiest maknae I've ever come across in kpop. Taemin's got himself a formidable rival, ehe.
