I'm intending to start up an LP of this game soon, so I thought a discussion thread would be a good idea.

Let's discuss about Rin!

She's one of my favorites 'cause she reminds me a little about myself. So I had a lot of wonder and ponder during her route.

Do we still need to post spoilers under the spoiler tags ?

Ironically Rin's route is incredibly uncomfortable for me for the exact same reason. Love her as a character, want to hit everyone else in the route with a shovel with varying degrees of strength.

I'd kind of prefer it since I have no idea which route I'll be LPing, but I'm not going to say you have to.

I appreciate the fact that they let you censor the adult scenes in case you're uncomfortable with that kind of thing.

I think my favorite route would be Hanako, I just..usually like characters like that.

Okay ! Well I loved Rin. She got me very involved emotionally and it motivated me to start painted again (I should replay the game then, I've been procrastinating for a while). I love the very sad and pensive feel her whole path had.

From my least favorite to my favorite : Shizune, Emi, Lily, Hanako, Rin.

I would totally romance Mutou if the game let me. Best teacher !

Yeah, it was uncomfortable, but really good. Exactly because it did give me feelings that's not like any other feelings I normally feel while playing VN's. Is not like "ooh, a lot of terrible stuff happened to her, that must be horrible this is so sad" kind of feeling. Is something I can relate to, and it pokes me personally. That's why I totally loved this game.

I liked Hanako a lot too. Both because I usually like those mysterious characters, and because when we get to knew her a little bit, she reminded me of a friend of mine when she was depressed. Now she's well, but she was once just like Hanako.

Played this once, got all of Hanako's endings. I liked how they tried to show how white-knighting isn't healthy, but I thought it could have been developed more. At the end I didn't really feel like the message had hit home at all and I still wanted to protect her. Also, awkwaaard sex. I know she was only doing it for him but I wish they had made the consent more obvious.

It was really awkward. The only thing I didn't got in this route is why did she do that for him, if she obviously didn't want that at all. It felt like kicking a puppy.
Was there a reason for her to try to "make him happy"? Maybe I just don't remember.

It's not her trying to make him happy, from what I remember, but to make him see her as an adult perfectly capable of making her own choices.

Still one of the most awkward and uncomfortable scenes in the game.

It felt like trying to repay him for something or I dunno. Maybe I was thinking other stuff while reading the explanation of that and it got confused in my mind, I tend to do that sometimes.

was in Emi's path. It was quite realistic and surprising for an eroge.

This game is pretty neat~ My first path was Rin, but I think my favorite character was Emi. I'm a little proud that I avoided the white-knighting on Hanako's path, too...

It's a fun game.

I noticed people don't mention Lilly's route that much. Why is that?

I loved Rin. I loved Rin because I can identify with Rin.

I don't know. They don't say they like it nor that they don't like it. They just don't mention very much.
I liked her route, but it didn't really touched me so much. But I liked Lilly herself, her polite manners reminds me of a friend I don't see for some years now, since she left the city.

In my case it's an attempt to control my fangirling because something about Lilly just hit all of my 'let me love you' buttons.

My favourite was Rin as well, it's confusing, thought provoking and wonderful.

I love Lilly as well, but her route just wasn't overly memorable. I think every other routes had a point that'll get bought up in discussions, but Lilly's didn't. It was mostly a really normal relationship. I like it in the sense that it's realistic and probably relationship I'd want, and also because Lilly is totally my type.

On the other hand, a lot of people loved Emi. I like Emi well enough, she's energetic and just very driven, I admire that. But I think I just don't do well with very outgoing or active people, because I was kind of meh throughout her route. That said, I like how they handled the relationship in it?

I really really wish there was a Misha route. Misha was totally adorable.

There was a time, back in the day, where a friend and I would have conversations that consisted entirely on "Wait... I'm Misha!". Good times.

I think that my favourite route/character was *gasp* Rin. I loved, loved the character and was rather ambivalent to her route, but it was really well written! More than the others, anyway. Her route is... it's pretty much a love it or hate it kind of deal; most of the people I know (...before I looked at this page, it seems) don't care much for her and would instead go for, I don't know, Lilly.

Second would come Emi, whose route I found most entertaining. It's definitely the one I'd recommend for a LP, or at least for a first run. As a character... uh, I have to say I identified a lot with some aspects of her personality and because of that, I both loved and hated her. It's complicated. Overall it was pretty good though.

videetcredere, you're planning to start an LP of KS? I would never have thought of that mainly because of how big it is and how I think inserting commentary would be difficult for this. But hey, if you're going for it, I'd be totally on board!

I was introduced to this by a friend a few months back. There was much sadness, happiness, contemplation and a lot of those things mixed together.
Just so you know, I have done everybody's route and have seen all endingsincluding the bad and neutral ones GAH
My favourite of the girls is probablymaybe Emi and my favourite route to go through is definitely either Rin (gaaaaaaah) or Hanako.
I'd go into more detail but everything I would say has been said by someone else, I'm sure.

I like Lilly. Just, not that much. Her route, in my opinion, seemed the most like something out of a romance novel, the kind where it's kinda corny throughout but you still feel for everyone.
I uh... didn't dislike Shizune's route? I don't know, I think I was rushing for it to finish near the end of it. Character wise, I do like Shizune and Misha but oddly, I think I like them better on other routes when they were just "those two friend gals who bother you but you still love them for it".

Holy shit we ARE mind twins. That's how I feel about those two routes EXACTLY. Except for the identifying with Emi part; I could identify more with Rin myself, but other than that, total agreement.

Lilly's part was so corny I literally spent a few minutes after the confession scene silently screaming at how horribly written everything was. Also, Lilly herself is incredibly boring. Nice, but boring. Totally a friend I would want to have in real life, but man, no entertainment value whatsoever.

I think I got over-hyped for Hanako's route so when I actually played it it didn't really leave too much of a deep impression on me. Probably was expecting too much.

I identify with Emi on a few, rather prominent defects, but I'm otherwise really really different, hahaha. But holy shit, that's amazing! COME TO ME, SISTER, AND LET'S FOREVER RAVE ABOUT RIN IN A BIN FOR THE WIN.

I liked Lily as a character, she was very sweet. But her path couldn't compare with the others. I mean, I hated Shizune's while I loved Rin and Hanako, but all of them made me think about quite a few things. Lily's path is very realistic and mild... Which means there's almost no drama and most of her choices go like this : "communicate like adults" or "be a childish dickface and hide the issues you might have".

All in one, it was a nice path that made me smile, but couldn't compare with the fuzzy feelings Hanako and Rin gave me.

I think the major problem in Shizune's route for me was the fact that it have only one (obvious) choice, so it's a lot of reading. When there's too much to read an almost no choice at all, my mind wonders and I don't pay attention to the story. That's why I can't take kinetics at all, 'cause suddenly something's happening and I'm like "what? what happened? how did it come to this?" and get confused and don't understand the story.

I am well known for my stupid ideas. At the very least I am going to make an attempt.

And that is why I love her route because holy hell the ability to actually talk shit out with a character like a sane and sensible human being. The rarity of that makes me gleeful. I get irritated over communication issues in fiction I have enough of those in real life.

Eh, I liked that too, but since almost nothing bad happened in the path, it felt a bit... too easy ? I mean, it's great to be able to communicate but I would have liked some more drama, not caused by misunderstandings but by the outside world. I'm not saying it was bad (that would be a gross lie) but it lacked tension.

My main problem with Shizune is... Well, Shizune.
