Okay, league, who has the better starting QB tandem: Me (Luck and RG3) or Bill (Super Manning Bros.)?
At least I didn't get the team the Watergaters wound up with! Those guys have so many damn question marks, in every league.
Yea, missing all the drafts will do that to you! Should be an interesting year for my teams, but I'll take it. Just a year with troubles making the drafts. I like a good challenge! Plus as I win over everyone I'll just sit back and laugh at my excellent strategy of letting a computer do my dirty work while I direct the troops!
I have no idea what Bill is doing dropping Pierre Garcon for Leonard Hankerson, but I hope he didn't just trick me into making a huge mistake.
Redskins' 2011 third-round draft pick, missed all of last season with an injury, expected to play in the slot this year and compete for playing time with Josh Morgan and Santana Moss.
I corrected a scoring mistake today; I had it set to give 4 points for 3 tackles instead of 1.3 points per tackle.
Man I thought I had no shot at winning this week after Peyton's first half performance. Luckily he did some things in the second half and I had some other players contribute.
Thank you Brandon Clements for the first, and quite possibly only, win of the Watergaters this season!
Going to go ahead and whine after the fact over Shmtur trading Alfred Morris to me for Eric Decker. Wahhhh!!!
Going back to this discussion from the start of the year, we'll be moving the league to a new fantasy football provider next year. For me, the important thing is what sort of options are offered with regards to keeper leagues. NFL.com seems to be best with ease of use and options available, so I've decided on that one. With that said, I'm leaning toward a reboot of the league! NFL.com allows the option to set keepers to be drafted in the round you originally drafted them. We'll be going with that system. I know this would change the process people have used to draft - you might be more willing to take a risky pick earlier that could pay off, pick a previously injured player higher in hopes of getting them as a keeper later on (ex, taking Adrian Peterson in the 3rd round this year because HOLY SHIT ADRIAN PETERSON AS A THIRD ROUND PICK IN PERPETUITY IS AWESOME) and so forth. I am also somewhat lazy and have no desire to try and import all of the old draft results and rosters to NFL.com because I do not have nearly enough free time to do and check over all of that. I am horrible, I know. So with all of that said, I am open to ideas or rule changes for next year! This is, of course, dependent on what options nfl.com provides me. We could, for example, change the WR/RB slot to a full position flex, so you can place your best bench player in the slot. Three great QBs? Play all three! Two great TEs (why?!) - play em both! And so forth. Is there any feedback people would like to give on this? Lay it on me!
I am also really against making the FLEX spot another QB. RB/WR/TE, yes. Another QB, no. A coworker of mine is in a league with that setup, and all it means is that everyone starts two QBs every week.
...except we already have two QB's, which is part of what differentiates this league (to its benefit, imho). Third QBs would wind up being guys like Sanchez and Kolb -- ie, you could easily have a WR or RB that would be comparable. Heck, make it totally wide open, so you could start a second defense or IDP :)
I wouldn't mind this at all. The way the league is set up, you can get IDP's getting higher than QB stats.
If this is possible through NFL.com I'd definitely consider it. I played around with commissioner settings previously and liked the extra options they have available compared to ESPN or Yahoo. It's blocked at work, sadly, so I can't verify this until later. I'll check on it! As for QBs, I'm going to stick with the current setup - two starting QBs, and a 3 QB limit. I don't want the QB hoarding situation we had in year one; this way there's always at least two starters available, and some turnover at the position. Oh, and Bowyer? If we're going retroactive, then I want Arian Foster to be a 3rd or 4th round pick every year, since that's where I took him in our very first draft. I AM THE LAW
What if you pick a guy off waiver, how does that work? Well since this is the last year on ESPN it's time for me to go out with a bang and finally win it all after coming close last year. Also you should retroactively change it to add another flex spot so I can run a four RB set with my current team to guarantee my sweet sweet soon to be championship.
Works for me! I just want to have keepers available this year in the keeper league. 'Cause I have people I want to keep!
Wall of text inbound on your position. I'm not enough of an asshole enough to do that, sadly! I would be open to allowing one or two keepers (to be designated as your first, and then second picks, as with ESPN) if enough other people want that, although my preference is to start fresh. My reasoning is that since the keeper rules are changing, I'd like us all to start from an even footing. So let's take a quick vote! Do we transition with keepers to the new league by carrying over the ESPN rules for one more year? (1st keeper is your first round pick, 2nd keeper is your 2nd round pick.) Do we transition with keepers using the new rules? (Designated keeper would be drafted in the same round you originally drafted the player.) Do we start fresh with no keepers? Good question! From what I can tell, the NFL.com settings are pretty flexible. The closest thing I can find to an answer from NFL.com is this: So, in short, it looks like my I AM THE LAW joke earlier is actually true. My first inclination would be to make waiver pickups equate to a pick from X round in the draft, so if you designate, say, Jordy Nelson as a keeper after picking him up on waivers like I did this year, he'd equal a 3rd round pick. Or a 5th round pick. Or whatever we end up deciding - I'm open to ideas on this one. I'd probably go with a 4th round pick if I had to make a decision right now, but I'll admit I'm just picking a number out of a hat.
Sounds like we'll be going with that option. Also, we'll be switching the flex spot to an "any offensive player" option - putting defenses or defensive players isn't an option from what I can tell.
