Something is wrong with search, then. I searched for a thread with Archer in the title and got no results. Though it's still embarrassing, since I seem to have posted in that other thread.
It's the last few episodes coming up. I think they've actually wrapped on production. And while it's not as good as it was in earlier seasons, it's still pretty damn funny. Not "terrible" by any stretch.
Thought tonight's episode was a pretty solid start to the season. And a great concept for an episode.
Is this available on iTunes or Amazon or somewhere, or just FX? And yes, I did check, last night, to no avail.
Only thing I didn't like about the opening was that the kids didn't talk. That was weird. It was funny to hear Linda curse, though. Also,
I'm not spoilering this. Yeah, I hope Barry doesn't stay through the whole season, we don't need a big plot. They can do a few episodes with him though. How long do we think Malory's going to stay married? I mean, the guy is the best Chevrolet salesman in New York, but still. Mallory killed a guy in cold blood. I know Jon Benjamin really only has one voice, but the opening really highlighted how different Bob and Archer are in my mind. Maybe it was the animation, but he didn't sound like Bob. Was it just me, or is there something to this?
He has a bit more range than given credit for. For a while I didn't realize he did both Coach McGuirk and Jason on Home Movies, I thought he just did McGuirk.
I don't watch Bob's Burgers, so I thought the opening more clever than funny. If I watched the show I'm certain I would have appreciated it more. I did notice a difference in Archer vs. Bob. It's subtle but you could hear the changes depending on what he was talking about in the opening scene. Archer was peeking through from time to time despite the fugue state. And the "What the shit, Lana?" After she wanged him with the frying pan was pretty clear cut: Archer's back!
Technically, the entire tri-state area. . Yeah, I noticed it too. They're the same voice, but different cadence and inflections. He's not a master of different voices, but you could tell that the character was Archer and not Bob. Which was confusing at first, but then they brought the audience up to speed.
Watch a few episodes and see if it clicks. For best results, watch one that heavily features the kids. Especially Tina.
Cadillac salesman. They'll pass anything on the road, except for a gas station! Fun fact: the guy voicing her husband is Jessica Walters' real-life husband, Ron Leibman.
Not that it hasn't been there in the past, but Archer is getting to Arrested Development/Community levels of meta.
I'd put it on the same level as those shows in regards to how "Smart" I think it can be, so that's a-okay with me.
And now that show is canon. That's pretty terrific. Fair warning - early reviews indicate that the next few episodes aren't as funny as the opening gag. Not that I care much. Because I remember thinking that the last season wasn't as out-and-out funny, but I just rewatched it, and it gets better on the second run. Ron Cadillac apparently also plays a role.
Does Archer show up on On Demand ever? Thursday nights aren't a good time to watch TV for me and I'm a heathen without a DVR.
Yeah, I thought that might be the case. Back when I was watching Wilfred they were always a week behind.
