been playing alot of support Zyra with a friend that will play Tristana bot with me as our adc. We generally rape our lane. Elise is doing some incredibly damage these days too, I've seen her do well as a high harass support.

What I usually see: start boots + pots, get two doran's and a vamp scepter, then build an IE, possibly upgrading your boots after the BFS. Zeal after IE, then some armor pen.

Boots is still worth starting with even after the nerf?

This is sensible enough. It is really just a question of whether you want to play for a strong late game or try to prop up her mediocre mid-game with something like BT/zeal.

Also, Trist has a fairly strong early game, it just requires knowing your strength and going all in with her rocket jump. There are good reasons not to do this, though, especially against champions like Draven/MF who will snowball and destroy your lane if they gain even a small edge.

I'm liking Vi a lot as a jungler.

Every time someone has jungled Vi in a game I've been in, they've been totally unable to gank effectively. Super sadfacery.

The 3/2 game I was forced to go top after i already picked Vi with smite, but amumu had to have jungle so...

I think I'd played her in Dominion once before, but I tried it again, and yeah, she pretty much sucks. Slow and no defense. I went bot against the insect guy, and wasn't doing horribly, and then they swapped in Teemo most of the time. Teemo was wrecking me (once I got range and a frozen mallet, it wasn't that bad), and then at the end after we won he complained that I was always running away from him. Well, duh. She was starting to get competent near the end, but it's rough going for the 15 min before that. Another problem is that you pretty much need your ult up all the time, and the cooldown isn't quite short enough.

They seem to be adding more Dota style call outs. Playing Vi, when fighting Jayce and using the ult she said "Hey Jayce, powerslam!" (not my game)

Vi also has lines when she blocks Caitlyn's ult.

Unlike Tristana, Lulu is a fucking boss on Dominion. Went 11-2 and 8-0 in my last two. Surprisingly decent 1 on 1 and fantastic in team fights.

I wasn't here for that, but if you are doubting the fact that me as Zyra, and a friend as Tristana do not get into the lane, and physically hold down male champions while we forcefully thrust our hips upon them, well I guess you misinterpreted what I said. Cause we are totally thrusting in that bot lane.

In my first ever game as Maokai in top lane, I went against Yorick and made him sadface so hard he had 150 MR at the end of laning. And nothing else. Ended up realizing I had no idea what to build after my first trip back. What do people think is a decent build for lane-Maokai? Started with boots, grabbed a Philo on my first trip back (with FB gold, mmmhmm, those minions really do hurt you, Yorick, especially when I root you on my wave with none of your creeps around), got a Blasting Rod, Merc Treads, built the Rod into an RoA, built Sunfire, and was almost done with my Frozen Heart when the game ended.

(Someone else on our team built an Aegis.)

I was thinking that building more AP was silly as Maokai, so I shouldn't go for DFG/Deathcap/Zhonya's. After the Frozen Heart, I have no clue what I'd have made... maybe Abyssal Scepter? Or Randuin's Omen?

I still kinda like Rylai's on Maoki, but heh, I love Rylai's on lots of champs. Having a slow on those damn seeds turns you into a sort of ranged mushroom tossing teemo. Surprised you did so well as Maoki top though, I've found it to be rather lackluster. Mainly because when you try to snare them, if they are smart, they will just flash into their tower when they see you coming mid cast, and force you to eat tower shots.

Ooh, Rylai's, I hadn't even thought of that. That would have been a much better choice than the Sunfire for an HP item!

Yorick only died to me in lane once, and only because he stopped to throw his ghosts on me when I came up to last hit the last of his minions in a wave. I had a full wave of minions on hand, he had none, and I rooted him in front of my wave. I don't remember why he didn't flash; either he didn't do it in time or didn't think he was in much danger. People seriously underestimate how much the creeps hurt! But I was mostly going for a super safe lane, one where I could survive and prevent him from pushing, rather than one where I could kill him. And I managed that in spades, because his ghosts just sit there doing nothing if you duck into the brush, so I would stay at full HP from Maokai's passive and the regen on my Philo.

Do the creeps hurt more in Season 3? I didn't see anything in the patch notes about it, but it sure seems like it.

I think they changed masteries around, so you might have less armor or less flat reduction to creep damage?

Or did they nerf flat armor runes?

And this is a bit late but yes they did buff jungle creeps to prevent mid lane APs from taking all the farm on the map.

They took away all the masteries that reduce creep damage.

They also sometimes include youtube versions which can be easier to view. It's not the same as watching "live", but since I'm a casual viewer I like being able to scrub past the downtime.

The dominion tournaments are so much more fun to watch!

Yeah I once played with a premade far far above my elo. The whole game was just farming and then in the last five minutes the better farmed team steamrolled and won. It was the most boring game I ever played.

I honestly don't know what tournament you're watching where people farm for 30 minutes. That's the exception rather than the rule these days.

Just start playing again, mostly with my coworkers, my first game back today, Malzahar mid(go MAAAL)..

we barely squeeze out a win, did pretty decently, 20/10/9, but I'm totally confused with the new items. I figure R Cap is still #1 for AP. then after that I'm like "hmm now what".

any suggestion for good AP items, here is the game. they had a lot tank with magical damage.



I ended that game with MR boots+, void staff, Rcap, Zhonya, some goblet thingie that give me MR/MP5/AP, oh yeah I got the new visage mask thingie, figure it stacks well with my pool or something..

Sorry for the somewhat incomplete thought above. New hardware arrived that required immediate attention, so I hurriedly hit post and shut down. :)

What I intended to say is that with the rise of asian pro teams (Koreans in particular) there has been a new focus on the early game, lane swapping and hammering down towers very early. The action is typically very intense, very early, and with few exceptions these games are all but over by 20 minutes. If the old plodding pace of tourney games put you off, I'd recommend taking another look. Or not. SR isn't for everyone.

edit: and of course the very next match (SK vs Fnatic) is 50 minutes, but holy crap what an ending. I have never seen anything like it.
