d_a_renoir, you did a good job copying the coloring style and an excellent on job on individual art. I'm confused did they attempt to American-ize all the guys? The original looked like Alan, yes, but that wasn't really necessary. I do like the sprite art for the guys in this version.

Btw, I think your coloring on your ''fake'' CG was fine. The only things that seemed off were Wench's hair (it was kind of messy like she'd been attacked by rabid corgis) and the positioning. Wench's hand position made sense but looked awkward.

Naw, just Eduardo (Shin) and Christopher (Soushi). Eduardo was seriously hot, so I wasn't complaining, but now that they've lost the artist who did the original art... We had to make do with the shitty edits.

The hand... Not sure how it's awkward. Tested the pose via mirror and that's how it looked like to me, so that's how I drew it.

And so what if Wench's hair is a mess? Got a problem with messy hair? Pirates don't have hair products! >:D Snark aside though, I think this is a YMMV thing. Hair's got a lot of "choppy" strands, yes, but I don't think it looks messy. It just has a lot of strands. In Alan's CG that's how her hair looks like, and in Eduardo's Fairyland. Lots of thin, choppy strands. I guess the original art is inconsistent too *shrug*

I just went back to look at it: The hair isn't as messy as I thought it was; just that there were more strands in the front so it kind of looked like it. Clearly I should make sure i have the art next to me before I start critiquing. Maybe the hand just awkward to me because I think that would an uncomfortable position to be in?

Well... She was being pinned against a tree because Patchy is such a horny bastard. It definitely ain't a comfortable position XD

That being said, it probably isn't an accurate pose because I wasn't being pinned to a tree by a horny bastard, but it's the best I can do. I don't see much reference for such situations.

Hm... looking at it, I don't think it's that awkward of a position, but I would expect to see some creasing of the skin at the insides of the joints of her fingers, rather than the clean, slightly rounded angles shown in the picture - it makes her little finger look unusually long and stiff. I also wouldn't expect to see so much of both the side and the palm of the hand at the same time. So that may have something to do with why it might look slightly awkward?

Not that I can draw a hand anything like nearly that well. Your artwork is very good!

Wait, I thought I already did? The pointer finger and middle finger are covered by the other fingers, so no creases are showing. On the pinky and the ring finger, which are slightly more open, did have the creases. Unless you meant the thumb, coz that one I totally forgot.

I'm referring to the pinky finger. You have a tiny little bit of a crease shown at the middle joint, but when I curl my fingers like that, the skin creases much more than in your drawing - the creases end up defining most of the inside line of the finger, rather than there being a straight line from joint to joint, and there's not that much space between pinky and palm, since even with the hand loosely curled, the pinky just isn't long enough. Like so.

Obviously since this is anime-style artwork it's more stylized and the fingers are longer and more slender than my stubby ones, but I'd still expect to see more creasing on the inside of the joints, especially at the base of the finger where it meets the knuckle.

Take with a grain of salt, though. Like I said, I definitely can't draw half as well as you!

Maybe we should just stop fussing over details and bask in its general glory.

I wouldn't have said anything, but I know at least when it comes to my writing that as happy as I am to hear people say they like it, I can never, ever get people to go into as much detail as I'd like about what did or didn't work for them. "It's good" is always wonderful, but specific information about what I could be doing better is worth its weight in gold.

Yeah, I made the crease shallow on purpose because that's how the Voltage artist drew it >.< Since I was attempting to pretend that the CG is legit, I can't draw in things the original artist didn't.

I just love how everyone finds Alan to be a nuisance, I really do.

We gave the magical UNSTABLE super weapon to the crazy.

It's only hinted at, but if the Rain Stone affects the weather by creating storms, it could feasibly destroy an ecosystem if over-used, or even upset the natural balance of the entire world. Who knows how weather magic works? It's got to get that water from somewhere, though.
Or cause global warning or melt the polar ice caps or I just dunno BAD THINGS.

Having steered us in the right direction for finding Cap'n, Alan resumes his usual posturing, declaring he'll defeat Cap'n, take the title of Pirate King, yadda yadda.





Oh yes, I will be looking forward to it~
I like how even the characters feel like they can't be mean to Alan right now. He was pretty helpful, so they can't dismiss him like they usually do, but then they don't have any idea how to deal with him.

With his usual bravado, Alan laughs raucously and swaggers away towards the center of his ship to call orders to his waiting crew.



As the Comedy Pirate crew springs into action, I catch a brief glimpse of Fuzzy across the water.



Ah! Fuzzy! I miss you! You're welcome anytime!!

But unfortunately, the Comedy Pirates have other obligations, and while I stare longingly after their entertaining crew, they depart while Alan's laughter still rings through the air.

Once they were out of sight, the crew gathered once again in the navigation cabin to plan our next course of action.



Russell suspects that this may be a ploy to lure the ship of the Pirate King into a trap.



But Alan's probably not bright enough for that.
Also, as a major competitor, Alan wouldn't be in a good position if Cecil won the war. He probably wouldn't live very long if Cecil got his way







The crew is split about evenly about whether or not to believe the information Alan gave us.
While the others continue to debate the pros and cons of trusting Alan, Nathan quietly watches me. I haven't expressed an opinion yet, and he's obviously noticed, because next time there's a pause in the conversation, he softly asks me:





I like how at this point, all the choices we're getting are just different ways to get to the same conclusion. [/sarcasm] What happened to choices that impacted events?
Oh well.

They can go off and be happy together with Fuzzy (OT3? Y/Y?) while we take on the rest of the boys in our mighty floating harem and run the ship ourselves.

All the choices are the same damn thing, so I'm not voting this time around. I will say, though, that it took me a good five minutes to get the Inuyasha reference.
