Though I do think that we're a strong independent wench who don't need no man, I feel like that will just send Cap'n spiraling into a neverending pit of emo-ness that will render him even more useless. Actually it would be kind of funny if Morgan and his brother were both named Morgan. Their parents were probably like, "This way, we'll never have to worry about mixing up their names and it will be much less confusing! Ho ho ho." *clinking of wine glasses*. In fact, their parents were probably drunk when naming them (and Morgan and Morgan must have inherited their parents' drinking habits).

I kinda want a mixture of B and C?! Something along the lines of "Honestly? Look at your life, look at your choices .. it's obvious that I can't leave you alone! Plus I am the Captain of the harem boat now – see the hat?! - so stop being such an idiot and join us again. There's still plenty of room in the harem!"

Then again - A is probably the right answer isn't it? But eh, I don't care .. I vote C - because after all, we have seen in this route, it is clear that Cap'n would be lost without Wench, so why not tell him that? And after all this is over we're gonna make it clear to him that Wench is now the Captain of the Serious Pirates and there's nothing he can do about it ;)

But yeah, I hate how Voltage kind of tricked us? I guess we all thought this would be the "fun" route - and Cap'n is even totally flirty with you in other routes but in hiw own he's just kind of emo and an idiotic coward that runs away from his problems? I am disappoint! Oh well ..

I'm voting for B, because this angsty Captain doesn't deserve Wench's fawning over him! (Yet).

I totally agree with this. I really hope his behavior improves soon. Or else Wench will have to find comfort from Alan and his beautiful hat.

Seconded/Thirded/fourthed/whatever. Alan's route was like this, but then again, he was ALWAYS a crybaby coward so it's more understandable.
Kaptein... um. For some reason I find the whole "emo guy puts on happy mask to hide his feelings" annoying.

Y'know, I'm probably reading too much into this game, but... Cap'n character analysis time!

It's pretty obvious at this point that Cap'n hasn't gotten over losing his brother. Having to assume his identity is probably just constant salt on the wound. He uses booze and women as a crutch to keep the pain at bay as well as maintain this facade of the boisterous, devil-may-care Pirate King. It works well enough that he himself buys into it.

Then Wench arrives on the scene. She gets him to promise to stop the drinking and the whoring (cold-turkey no less) and because he is a Man of Honor he sticks to his word (despite some whining). That's where the facade starts to crack. He becomes more erratic. Wench's trouble-magnet nature is inadvertently picking at old wounds because he's falling/fallen for her and he's afraid of losing someone that close again.

So...

Here we are, faced with this sad, shipwreck of a man. But we shall save him. *dramatic music swells* We have the power. For we are Wench, Otome Protagonist, and nothing can stand before the power of our LOVE!

*music crecendos, flowers burst into bloom, old men weep, etc*

Oh! That anime! I remember on one of the threads I'm watching, I don't remember which, that they started talking about Eru when someone brought up a picture of her, and I needed to look her up and I found it. It didn't catch my interest, but I remember what the characters look like.

Hyouka sounds like a pretty generic show on paper but I would highly recommend it. The artwork is glorious and the characters are really charming. It was definitely my favorite anime from the 2012 Spring season.
