I remember I ragequit pokemon crystal because I couldn't figure out how to get through that one cave right before blackthorn gym. Black and white are so much easier than the other games. They even give you a pokemon to help you defeat the very first gym.
  6. Davian Korran Hatoful Pigeon

I am so directionally challenged going into a place like Silph Co in Red was genuinely terrifying. I'd ALWAYS get lost and then spend hours and hours limping along with ever more wounded Pokémon trying to find that kind lady who healed them, trying to remember what was where based on grunt banter....

I think I actually cried with relief when I beat that place the first time. Then I went back in Fire Red many years later and wondered if they'd made it easier or my memory just made it out to be worse than it really was.
  7. Eboby Already Beat BF's New Expansion

The older games are fantastic. I think they hold your hand in B/W so that the player has room to focus on the plot, but that's just a guess.

And if you run into a Pokemon dumber than a rock can you name it Jude, Kaimeanogo?

And you don't even had to walk that much. Sure, there is a huge bridge, but that's it. I remember going to Cianwood city at night and that huge mountain in another game, and the woods in Ruby/Shappire.

And that thing about giving your a pokèmon is just...it sounds wrong. Like having the killer saying leaving clues around for Sherlock Holmes on purpose because the killer has to be caught.

Exactly. I never used the pokemon they gave me because I felt insulted. So you don't think I can win using strategy and the other pokemon on my team? Really?

Plus it's a bitch to train. I dumped it as soon as I got Munna.

I don't like training in general. After they removed the versus seeker I realized how long it took. I have no idea how I did it in emerald. I had so many pokemon on level 100 and yet I can't even get one to level 80 in black 2.
  14. Antiqua Magister Mundi Elyscape

I'm not that good at training, but I liked it in the previous game because there is a lot of walking, so it's nice exploring and training. I often go back to the first city and walk the region all over again because I love training pokémon from the lowest level possible until they're good enough.

In Pokèmon Black I just run over and over the same short route. Which is a pity, because there were pokémon that I would have liked to train, but it was hard enough training my party.

This. I think G/S/C will forever be my favorite games. They let you travel to two different regions and it was never hard training your pokemon either. I really hope none of my pokemon get knocked out because training in the grass is such a pain and the gym leaders tend to be a lot higher leveled than the wild pokemon.
  16. Davian Korran Hatoful Pigeon

I agree. It was such a cool feeling to visit Kanto, too, and see how things had changed, though what happened on Cinnabar was a bit saddening.

I was more concerned over what happened to Blaine than anything else. He just hid himself away after the incident and I'm pretty sure he had something to do with it.
I like the timeskip they did in Black 2, it was very refreshing and cool to see what happened over the last two years, instead of them pulling an emerald and just adding a few new arenas or something.
  18. Eboby Already Beat BF's New Expansion

This. Wee Eboby knew about volcanoes, so I was both sad and disappointed. Volcanoes do stuff before they explode, and I felt like the folks on Cinnabar weren't very vigilant or they caused it.

I love G/S/C for the same reason. There was so much things to do, and it was just awesome.

  24. Antiqua Magister Mundi Elyscape

I nearly reastarted Sapphire bacause my brother played with it too so I missed all the "fighting on a vulcan!" part of the storyline, but then I thought "...Again?" and move on.
And I didn't want to lose my pokémon.

It was a rushed game. The manga made me really care, the game makes me want to just get over it. I couldn't care less. I didn't even liked the pokémon that much. Pokémon Black was insulting with that all "I' WILL help you" stuff going on, and nowhere to walk, but I cared about the characters and I liked the storyline. I had a bad relationship with my starter however, for some reason I deeply resent Tepig and his evolutions.

After teaching Fontaine cut, I headed back towards the Dreamyard. I didn't know what the hell dream Mist was but I could at least say that I looked and couldn't find any. I felt like something was following me, but whenever I turned around I didn't see anything.
"You are never truly alone." My mother's words resonated in my head. "Never."

I heard her voice before I saw her. I swear Bianca, if this is another pokemon challenge I'm going to--

Mysterious what now? No, I'm looking for some Dream Mist, whatever that is. I'm not going to question these things anymore.
We walked forward and suddenly heard...something.

Yeah, it sounded like a cry.

    [IMG][IMG]

...very good Bianca. You say let's go and then you just stand there. Whatever.

As I walked forward I spotted a strange little pokemon. It looked tired and scared, like something was hunting it down. Bianca ran up behind me. "Huh, isn't that a Munna?"

It's cry was weak. I tried to get closer to it but it was looking at me with fear. It started to run away when Bianca called after it.

Before it could go anywhere, though, two people appeared from the shadows. Who the hell are you guys? And what, what, what are you wearing?

[IMG] They kicked the little Munna and it let out a painful cry that made my heart ache. I was too shocked to move.

It screamed with each one of their kicks, the screams getting louder and more painful as time went on. I finally broke out of my trance.

Team Plasma. You mean the Team Plasma that was preaching about liberating pokemon? The Team Plasma that said we trainers were hurting Pokemon? That Team Plasma?
It was all I could do to not run and strangle one of them. Putting aside them being part of Plasma, what could they possibly want with the Dream Mist? What did it do that they would go so far as to hurt the pokemon that they were supposedly trying to liberate?

    [IMG][IMG][IMG] Are you guys serious?

The Munna slowly got up, eyes teary.

And then they started to kick it again. Bianca said something but I was too busy looking at the Munna that was on the verge of death.

I felt something I had never felt before. I could feel the blood rushing through my veins and my heart beat faster.

The man gave me a devious look as he walked closer to me. Bianca just stood there, too afraid to move. I wasn't scared. I made a grab for one of my pokeballs, my finger on the release button. I wasn't going to let them take my friends. I wasn't going to watch them kill that Munna.

At first, I'll admit, I thought that even though you weren't going about it the right way, your goal of trying to help pokemon was noble. But I can't let you do this. I can't let you hurt this Munna and then claim that it was all for the greater good. I can't let you go around stealing pokemon from trainers and then do Arceus knows what to them and claim that you are liberating them. More than anything else, though, I can't let you realize your dream. I'm going to personally make sure that I shatter that dream to pieces.

I didn't win because he wasn't serious, far from it, he just wasn't strong enough. And you know what else? I'm going to break you as well.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

You can't say that I didn't warn you.

Fontaine walked to the Munna, daring the Plasma grunts to so much as lay a finger on him. I watched their horrified faces as they recalled their pokemon. I wondered if they 'liberated' those pokemon, too.

    [IMG][IMG]

The male grunt moved towards the Munna that was still lying on its side. Fontaine hissed at the grunt as he got closer. I put my hand on Gulliver's pokeball.

Fontaine stood before the grunt with his claws drawn; he mumbled something that I couldn't hear. I had already enlarged Gulliver's pokeball when a booming voice startled me. The grunts seemed just as confused as I was. Then, a figure appeared out of nowhere.

    [IMG][IMG]
    "from foolish people!"

They appeared one after the other in rapid succession. One person in two places at once. Something wasn't right. Then they disappeared.

The grunts seemed terrified in a way I hadn't seen before. Their leader, Ghetsis I recalled, couldn't possibly have done everything he just did. He couldn't teleport, he couldn't be in two places, and he certainly wasn't in front of us. And yet, they were quivering with fear.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

They pushed past us, knocking me to the ground. Bianca seemed to finally snap out of her trance. Tears streamed down her cheeks and I stood slowly, trying to piece together the broken snippets of conversation I had heard from their hushed conversations. Fontaine came to my side, rubbing against my leg.

I looked at the Munna again. It was looking at me with those same tear-filled eyes. I took a potion out of my bag and walked towards it. I was sure that if Munna had the strength, it would have fled. But it couldn't. They made it so that the Munna couldn't move at all.

I leaned down and sprayed it a few times with the potion. It flinched at first but once the potion started taking effect, the Munna quickly got up. Munna stared at me confused, it almost seemed like it was asking 'why'. Fontaine bounded up next to me. He gave a quick bow. "You no longer have to worry, my master does not hurt pokemon. She is very kind." The Munna looked back up at me and it's eyes were different now. They lit up. "Thank you." Munna smiled at me and I smiled back in response.
Bianca walked up next to me, wiping at her eyes as she did so. She smiled when she saw that the Munna wasn't hurt anymore.

A pokemon that was much larger than the little Munna rushed towards it. The little Munna moved in circles around the bigger pokemon to show that it was no longer injured. I smiled at them. Bianca turned back to me, her face serious.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

I looked back to the larger pokemon and raised an eyebrow.

A female voice resounded in the distance. I was almost 100& sure I knew who it belonged to.

    [IMG][IMG]

Fennel practically pushed me out of the way. I immediately remembered that she wanted me to look for something. When I looked back at the pokemon behind me, they were gone. In their place stood a tiny vile. Fennel made a quick A-line towards it.

You're the expert here, you should know.

I was glad to know that the Munna was safe, but the cuts on my knees decided that it was finally time to make themselves noticed. That, and my annoyance with Fennel, was making me anxious to leave.

I wanted to refuse, I was going to refuse, but she ran off before I had the chance to say anything. Dammit.

Bianca laughed nervously. I was a little ticked off that she hadn't helped me out at all during the Plasma incident, but I decided to let it slide this time. I didn't have enough energy to be angry anymore.

[IMG] Haha, no. Why don't you go?

You mean Munna? No offense, but I don't think you're exactly the most qualified trainer to take care of a pokemon that Plasma wants. Especially not when instead of taking heroic action you break down into tears. But um, ok, you do that.

I decided to call it a day and head back to the pokemon center. I wanted to treat my knees and give my pokemon a good rest. Tomorrow I would finally be able to leave Striaton City, and hopefully not have to worry about Plasma, at least, not for a while.
