Let's get brutally murdered by B-movie aliens in XCOM: Enemy Unknown!

Xeno Biology because interrogated aliens will give us research boosts. Also, a Foundry for Improved Scopes (more crit, baby!) and Aggression as my skill.

((It's unfortunately rather difficult. The game randomly assigns a class once a rookie is promoted. Of the four classes, the closest one to being a medic is the Support. However, depending on the skills you pick for you support soldier, they could veer more towards medic side, or more towards an aggressive support side, or a hybrid of both))

((Also, just some house keeping stuff; confirming Sprinter for Anabanana and Agression for Sofaer. Also Kaneda, there aren't any generic female soldiers left in my reserve, but I've got a few more troops coming in a few in-game days. Yep, give me Sprinter please! I'll probably be taking on all the medic-y skills when they come up too. If I can survive long enough to get promoted, that is.

I am voting for tougher armor. It is important to the mission that we not die; it is not as if there is a steady stream of dispensable soldiers who could come into play to replace us, after all.

Ugh, I don't want to wait on drunk soldiers. Just give me the bottles directly.

Even though we're dispensable, keeping soldiers alive is advantageous because they can get promoted to higher levels and unlock more skills though. :>

Anabanana and Sofaer have begun their specialist training. Hopefully this will help them become even more effective in battle as well as serve as inspiration to the more inexperienced soldiers.



Unfortunately, both of them were still recovering from their injuries when three more alien attacks were reported! Unfortunately, we the higher ups refuse to get us a new, frog sized Skyranger, so we can only respond to one of these attack sites. As always, I'll leave it to the troops to decide which country they want to get shot at.

Landis isnot happy. Oh no she's not. She is frowning so hard, crackign her stoic face.

The mission in Sao Paula promises more help to our cause though.

Not happy about this decision at all, but as usual, she's willing to forsake happiness for the more logical response.

While I do think it would be interesting to travel to America, I believe a new recruit would be most useful to us.

And I believe I would like to accompany you on this mission, if at all possible. It is probably best if Grantaire comes with me as well, seeing as how he is liable to drink himself dead otherwise, though it is of course your decision. I would not blame you if you did not want such a useless drunk fighting for you.

Landis accidently lets a quiet growl slip as she balls her fist so tightly to her chest you can see a vein popping out.

I have no objections! Matterfact, Commander, if you send Landis and Enjolras it might be a good idea I go, too. Just in case you like your friendly fire accidental and aimed at people's asses as opposed to guns stuffed down throats. I may not be a good shot, or very reliable, or sober, or useful in any way, but I am entertaining. Surely that's merit?

And Sofaer won't be going so he would be safe. If you manage to shoot him in the ass again while he's not even there I will be highly impressed.

Operation Sleeping Princess Stockholm



The base's so called Terrible Trio of Enjolras, Grantaire and Landis all volunteered for this mission. However, as amusing as it would have been to see the three of them bicker as aliens shot at them, I wanted to give some of the less experienced troops a chance to experience live fire. Enjolras, Grantaire and Wakatsuki hadn't seen action in some time, and so were chosen to accompany Wellington, who is on his maiden sortie.



The troops had voted overwhelmingly to deploy to Brazil (though Dee was strongly in favour of the US), so that's where we're going.

A group of aliens had been spotted in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Mission objective is to wipe them out.





I have to say, I appreciate the aliens attacking cities as opposed to creepy ass forests and graveyards. They might be trying to destroy the human race, but at least they aren't being jerks about it.



According to Brazilian authorities, the military had engaged the alien forces with both sides suffering casualties. The surviving aliens had barricaded themselves inside this building, and we're to storm it and kill any X-rays inside.



I order the team to approach slowly. There's no telling what we'll find in there.



Enjolras spots four aliens at the back of the diner.





Unfortunately, they spotted us to, and darted behind the building, outside our field of vision.



Except for this guy, who got left behind. He's probably the jerk that all the other aliens hated.



Apparently this loser was trying to shoot Grantaire, but his shot went nowhere near him. Ha! Not only does nobody like him, he can't aim for shit either!





Eager to earn his first kill, Wellington bursts into the building and puts Loner Alien out of his misery.





Enjolras attempted to breach the building as well, but a sneaky alien tried to fire on him as he was moving. Luckily, the shot didn't connect, but it destroyed the wall separating him and Enjolras.



Luckily, there's enough wall left to use as half cover. However, the X-ray is too far away for Enjolras to reliably hit with his shotgun.



Meanwhile, another alien closes in on Wellington, hoping to make the rookie regret rushing out so far ahead of the team. And to grudgingly avenge that other guy that no one on his team liked.

This doesn't look good, at that range, Wellington won't survive a shot!

But wait! It looks like one of the vets has his back! It's...Grantaire...?



Oh god. From the corner of my eye, I can see Sofaer clutching his ass...

*stares wistfully off in the direction of Brazil*

Landis just punched a hole in the wall when they left on the transport.

I am so very serious. She's bleeding and probably broke a few fingers and she doesn't even care. Her stoic exterior is totally trashed for the time being. She's fuming through her teeth.

"KILL IT! For fuck's sake, WATCH OUT!"

"YOU'RE TOO FUCKING RECKLESS! Dammit! Why am I not there to cover him?!"

"AND YOU STILL CAN'T HIT THE BROAD SIDE OF A BARN!"

She's gonna be hoarse by time they get home. I'm sure all the staff loves her screaming at the screens, but god save them, don't say a word and don't touch her.

"OH GOD. Grantaire. PLEASE."

She looks like she's gonna tear her own hair out.

Over the din of shouts and alien chatter about leet explosives, you can faintly make out a few words.

"Ass shooting time."
