Lol, I'm listening to the Kin no Kuro drama CD while reading through this. Multitasking FTW.

That, or crazy glue. Given how keen Mejojo is on gaining the throne, he'd probably go to that extreme.

Yea on second thought, I'll just keep another save for the Auger bad end and leave Mejojo's for the stream or whatever. I'm guessing that as long as he doesn't have 100 points by the end game then I'll get the bad end, so I'll just spread around the end choices and close my eyes for anything with Mejojo.

And updates have been slow because of christmas and family and playing other games :D I'll try to get the next part up in a couple days~

I feel a bit guilty that updates have come to a standstill. I tried to press on through my fever/flu, but when I realized I was calling Auger "orange juice" it was time to stop. I don't know if I'll have time during this week to make an update either, so I'm planning on having a stream this Friday (1/11) at 5PM EST. Come for the crazy laughter and Auger... uh.... being Auger.... ( ._.)

I'm messing with this again because of stuff I've read around, and I've been getting browser slowdowns when I load image-heavy pages so... I'm thinking I'll keep the smaller sizes, but how do you feel about the JPG quality? Personally I don't like it, but if people prefer being able to load the pages over image quality, I can switch to that. Or should I stop fussing and git goin on DAT DERN UPDATE!!!!

The PNGs are slightly better quality and I like the look of them, but the difference is not overwhelming, so you could get away with the JPGs. I'm not fussed either way, but I seem to only get slow loading when the images are huge.

The small JPG looks worse, but I can't see a big difference in the big pictures...
Seems that only the big ones are a problem, anyway.

How about you have large JPGs and small PNGs? You reuse the small ones a lot anyway, so it's not like it has to load 80 of them per page.

They spent the night in the mountain cabin to see if Zara's medicine would work. The next day, her fever had gone down.

It was thanks to taking the medicine that the Zodeiba was under control, but wasn't it only able to suppress the condition?
Or, was the fever that night due to the wound on her shoulder? They didn't know.
There was an incubation period for Zodeiba. Therefore, Zara examined her every night.

It was the fatal disease that had spread across Weblin. There was still no way to treat it. If you are infected, it was said that you would die in the course of a few days.
Even if Fiona was sick, though, she didn't really feel a sense of impending doom....
Since she was a Robeira, there was always the case where she could die of sickness at anytime.

(Ever since I was born... Everyone said that it wouldn't be strange for me to die from an illness.)

She never heard it so directly from family and doctors, but she heard her servants talking about it.
In that sense... For Fiona, death was never a distant prospect.

(Maybe it's better to think about it without panicking?)

If Fiona was infected with Zodeiba from the things around her, wouldn't she surely feel flustered and cornered? (?)
However, thanks to Zara's medicine, even if Fiona really had been infected with Zodeiba, Nesso, Zara, and Julian would not catch it.

On the contrary... now that the coronation had ended, maybe it was a matter of time for the pursuers to appear.

Honestly, Fiona thought that it would be difficult. Their abhorrence for Wolves was abnormal.
Even if it came to a small compromise, would they still calmly choose to destroy the Wolves? (???)
And, surely.... for them, if many people had to lose their lives to Zodeiba in order to destroy the Wolves, that would be a trivial sacrifice.

Your finger would go through the hole in the center, and would be thrown at enemies with centrifugal force.... was it a weapon?
What would happen if you were hit with this circular knife at high speed.... Fiona didn't want to think about that.

These were the division of roles for this trip. (?)
Julian was not as confident in his sword-fighting abilities as Nesso and Zara were, so if combat were to come, he would protect Fiona.
According to Nesso, Julian's “sword skills” were to protect Fiona, and not to worry about anyone else. Just to stay in one spot. (?????)

Fiona snuggled up to Julian as he drew his sword, and then she looked around to see what was going on.
The Wolves howled and snapped.
Nesso went against the young man, who seemed to be the leader of the Wolf pack, and Zara went against the other Wolves as support.
When Nesso was still needed in Scharlmessen, Zara would usually be his training partner.
Fiona knew that Zara was somewhat strong, but...
Seeing him actually fighting really sunk in for Fiona that they were fugitives now.
Fiona didn't know it, but the cane that Zara usually had in his hands was actually a sword. He could fight now by unsheathing it.

The young man continued to not listen, and laughed as he hurled his blades in earnest.
Nesso was probably injured by now, but he didn't look like it....

Fiona couldn't fight, but she could try to convince him.

Fiona was pulled back with a strong force. As she almost fell backward, she heard a metallic and painful sound explode right by her ear.

Nesso: Fiona, you okay?!

Fiona: Y-Yeah...!

Nesso strongly embraced Fiona's shoulder with his right hand, while blocking the young Wolf man's knife with his sword in his dominant hand.

Guillan: Tch. You're pretty quick with that huge body of yours.



Once Nesso confirmed that he had prevented the blow, Fiona jumped behind him.
Nesso made sure she went behind him. (?)

Nesso: Fiona, get back.

Fiona: …....

Fiona felt a shiver down her spine as he said those words without even a glance.
He didn't raise his voice. It was rather quiet, instead.
However....

Fiona: (...It's scary.)

Should Fiona have said that she felt Nesso was out for blood? From his back, she got a chilly feeling.

Nesso: You. You dare screw around...? Just try to put one scratch on Fiona. I'll beat you to death.

Creeeeeepy., his voice got all quiet and low. Thanks for reminding me how creepy you are, Nesso, I was beginning to sort of tolerate you.

The young Wolf man's ghastly expression drew near.

Guillan: Heehh? Then I'll try!!

At Nesso's blood thirst, the young Wolf man raised his voice, egging him on, and again leaped at Nesso.

Nesso: Avoid or protect?

Nesso clashed his sword against the knife the young Wolf man brandished, making a sound that Fiona has never heard before.
It was a metallic, jarring sound. It seemed like the kind of sound that would only arise from the young man's blade cracking.

Tte. Looks like your bad swordsmanship has suddenly sharpened from nothing!
(???? guillan why do you talk so weird)

I was determined to go easy on you, so I just chipped it...!

Although Nesso was being nonchalant, he then let out a slash attack.

Fiona: (Hey, is he really going easy...?)

Although the young Wolf man was somehow handling Nesso with the dagger in his hand, he was completely under pressure.
Now he understood what Nesso meant by “avoid or protect”.

The sword swung down, but stopped to slightly graze the man's scruff of his neck.
Drops of fresh blood emerged on his white skin.

??? A: Guillan, what's all this fuss about?

Guillan: Arles...!!

Nesso looked away from the young Wolf man toward the sudden deep voice of another man, to see where it was coming from.
Taking this chance, the young Wolf man speedily escaped from Nesso's reach.

Near the tall man, Fiona recognized the boy with the bandages.
He was the one hunted in the forest that day. Fiona remembered his sad, deep blue eyes.

(He's safe...)

Although she heard from Zara that he probably was safe, seeing him again filled her with joy.

Arles, I've been under attack from these guys here!



Zara: Not at all, we just wanted to talk to you!

Arles: ...And, is it as they say?

Nesso, do you know him?

Arles.... that's the name of the Wolf knight who instigated the rebellion ten years ago. It's the same name as the Wolf knight who was subjugated by His Highness Mejojo.

Fiona had heard of that tragic story that happened ten years ago. It was a sort of fairy tale.
The Wolf knight with villainous fangs. The beautiful princess who was sacrificed. And the prince, who was wounded, but defeated the wicked knight.

(...But now, I know better.)

The prince was a liar. He lied a lot about the Wolves to make them into bad people, and to expel them from the country.
So, what the prince said about the tragedy ten years ago... Fiona wouldn't be surprised if that was full of lies too.

What's the matter? Follow me.

Suddenly, the Wolf boy opened his mouth.

...Will you come? I would like to talk to you all, too.

...There isn't really.... a reason. But, all this senseless death is.... I'm sick and tired of it.

Fiona nodded at Nesso, and so, they were invited to the hideout of the Wolves.

Look at all of these handsome and reasonable fellows. (Okay Guillan does not seem terribly reasonable but he shows off enough thigh to counteract that.)

And even flashback Mejojo seems sorta together. TWITCHY EAAARS :3

Why did we decide on Auger why

Hahahaha, oh god. I didn't expect Guillan to ACTUALLY TRY AND KILL EVERYBODY.
And as soon as Arles appears he tries to appease him (by lying and pointing fingers) and gets chastised for killing so many people instead.

As for his weird saying, he means "man you were pretty shit at this fighting thing but now you suddenly got awesome!".
Not surprised in the least that he instantly decides to exploit Nesso's weak point(Fiona). Surprisingly logical reason to not listen to her though, I wonder if his loved ones were killed ...?

How would Fiona fall in love with him, exactly? He must've made a terrible first impression.

I will be sincerely shocked if Mejojo was actually embarrassed in that flashback, and not trying to put on an act or something. Wait, no, he is a bit of a manchild, so it would sort of fit.... I'm not sure. XD

Yea, I think the english *cough cough my english* made Guillan's dialogue sound pretty awkward though. >_> It sounds better when you hear his slurs and screams. Heh.
And yea, his whole "YOU CAN'T HEAL THE PAST!!!!" was pretty sad. Maybe he's so messed up because of what happened to him... （；へ：）

So yea, this thread. Uh. This thread....

I have been trying to make an update, I swear. Really! But I've come to some conclusions:

1) I don't think this game is for me.
2) I'm starting to dread opening up the game.
3) My "translations" leave much to be desired. I'm just not comfortable with what I'm doing anymore.

So.... I'm sorry, but this will probably be abandoned. I do intend to at least try and see it to the end, but I can't devote this much time to it, or do it alone. So I'll probably stream the rest of the game sometime. I could record and upload the stream just so people can see the end, but I have reservations against that. I probably won't, so catching the stream would be best. Again, I'm really sorry if you were looking forward to this.

Personally I don't think this game is for me either. I appreciate all the work you put into it and I'm glad to have seen as much as we did so that I have some idea of what it's all about, but...

If you're not having fun with it, don't force yourself to carry on, you've given us plenty already!

On the other hand even shaky translations are a lot better than most of us can do so I hope it doesn't discourage you from doing LPs of games that you're more enthusiastic about. Even small samplers of games we can't normally play are fun.

If it's getting to the point where you dread opening the game, please don't feel like you have to continue! No one wants you to be doing something you really don't want to. :(

(I know exactly how you feel about the translation thing, by the way. That was why I abandoned my LP of an untranslated Japanese game...)

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement. <3 It was probably a mistake to get into it blind, because it's really turned out to not be my cup of tea. Even though the flailing reactions were sometimes funny.... maybe? Also, my flip-flopping on how to LP probably didn't help, either. "Summaries? Blargh my summaries suck!! Transcription? Blargh this is soul-draining SHUT UP NESSO!!"

All things to take into account moving forward, at least. The Sims should be a nice break and help me with my writing.

Aww... Well, if you don't wanna play it there's no point. I can imagine that "crazy assholes: the game" would take a toll on you after a while.

Your translations are generally fine (and I'd be all too happy to help you with the parts you're unsure of), but the game does go into things way darker than we'd expected. I mean, I'm not sure Guillan is the craziest person around and that's saying something.

It doesn't help that there haven't really been any real choices, so even if we decide to go after Zara who's adorable and fluff and bunny we'll have to go through torture and suicide and craziness. This game would probably be more tolerable if there was an option to just ignore all the horrible stuff, like a mousey knight route that has Fiona so focused on snugging and talking to the little guy that she tunes out everything else around her. And the conflict of the route can be "but ma'am I am a mouse and you have a weak immune system, what if I make you sick?".

Hey, don't worry about it, maniskumquat. Definitely don't force yourself to continue this if it's something you dread! I think you did a really good job with this LP though. Yep, the game is worse off without a completely separate, cuddly mouse route. But then, it wouldn't really be the same game, would it? You can laugh at the horribleness of everything and everyone in the beginning, but then it just doesn't stop... It has been a new experience at least. I've found something that can actually drain me. It's quite enlightening, in a way.

Awww, maniskumquat you shouldn't have to force yourself to continue LPing if you're not up for it. The whole point of an LP is to have fun playing a game and showing it to everyone on the forum. But, if you're not enjoying it, then no one else will be able to either. You did a great job on the LP and your translations were fine! Much better than what I could have come up with. So you should puff your cheeks in pride at being able to translate as much as you did, especially with the confusing vocabulary used by the game.

I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts though! I'll try to make it to one of the streams too, and cheer you on.

I'm actually going to stream today, staring with Gakuen Handsome though at 4PM EST. I don't know how long it will take, maybe 45 minutes- 1 hour? Then I'll move on to Black Wolves. I'll post the stream details here when the time gets closer.
