Of course, the guy I vote for first is absolutely bat shit crazy.

Weblin is the name of the kingdom. It's on some unnamed continent and it's mostly cut off from the rest of the continent because it's surrounded by dense forest. The cats have been in power pretty much from the beginning, but there was friction/power struggles between different cat families. Color matters! The ones in power now, the Garibaldi family, are white cats. They'll explain all this a bit more later.

Konoe is one of the ways they talk about wolves. They were the wolf royal guards. Basically they're saying the wolf guards/knights rebelled and pointed their swords at the royal family.

Originally the cat king was more of a... mediator rather than an absolute monarch, but the royal family got more power during/after the rebellion because they had to make these extreme decisions and people just let them do it. Kind of like how in the US the president isn't actually supposed to be the one to declare war (that's a power of Congress) but then... Well... XD;

The soundtrack is amazing. Well, like in any other Rejet game. Otome games rarely sell their soundtracks, but the fact that BWS actually does have an OST for sale speaks volumes about its quality. Just pop on over to the official website and listen for a bit.

Scene change~ We're now at the castle, I'm guessing? Auger is walking down the hallway. We're in his point of view right now.

He suddenly hears some voices and pricks his ears up. He decides to stop and listen in. He was leisurely taking a casual stroll down the hallway, looking for something interesting, anyway.

: (Hmm... I wonder what they could be talking about at this hour?)

It's a group of three maids chatting. One of them asks if the others have heard about the rumors of the witch. "Witch" is another keyword and it's just a definition.... If it's alright, I'll only mention keywords that are game-specific. They're talking about the Witch of Shallmessan (?), and here we go, keyword for "Shallmessan": The beautiful Shallmessan forest is in the territory of Earl Galland. The people who live here mostly engage in agricultural work, but there is a rumor of a witch in the vicinity at this time.

Another maid mentions that she's heard some of the rumors, and that this witch could be the one cursing Weblin with disaster. The third maid brings up the recent attack by the Wolves in the village to the north, and wonders if the witch is behind these attacks. They have heard that it was terrible, and on top of the villagers being eaten no one was spared, and the buildings razed. One maid was talking to one of the knights that was sent there, and they turned pale and was unable to talk about it. It must have been terribly devastating if even the Knights had to avert their eyes. The maids wonder if it is the witch manipulating the Wolves into attacking, but why would a witch need to steal money from a village? Another maid proposes that in the story she heard, in order for a witch to obtain eternal life, they require a lot of sacrifices. So, maybe the wolves were sent to attack the village to make the sacrifices.

Speaking of scary ideas, the maids move on to talking about the health of King Garibaldi VI deteriorating from bad to worse. He's becoming weaker every day. They wonder, what is going to happen? Wolf attacks, Zodeiba, and now stories of a witch... they hope the king will be steady in these dark times.

One maid voices her opinion that perhaps it's a good idea for Prince Mejojo to ascend the throne soon. Another maid shushes her, and the third chimes in that since Prince Mejojo is the first born, he is the Crown Prince, and it's been decided since a long time ago that he would succeed the throne and anything else is unthinkable. She goes on to say that hoping for King Garibaldi's death would be considered treason. The thoughtless maid apologizes, and for a while the group remains silent.

: (They should be more careful. Who knows who may be listening...)

Yes, Auger thinks to himself, for instance, Prince Auger Garibaldi, the younger twin brother of Mejojo, might be attentively listening in.

: (But, I love gossip~ I'd hate to have to break this up.)

And if the info is useful to Auger, he likes it even more.

The maids start talking again, and one brings up that she recently heard that the King and the two Princes are not on the best of terms. Another maid is shocked, and the third confirms that she's heard the same, and that it was something to do with Elenora and Rayleigh (?). Elenora and Rayleigh were the wives of King Garibaldi VI, and then the maid remembers she had heard the names before. She also remembers that they're dead. They both died many years ago. One maid says that she's pretty new to the job, so she doesn't know the story of what happened, but feels sorry for the king. One maid asks why, and she replies that, isn't it sad to lose your loved ones? The two other maids fall silent. The one maid asks if she said something strange, and the other maids tell her that the names Elenora and Rayleigh are taboo in the castle. Saying them out loud is enough to get your head chopped off. They are the cause for the bad relations between the two Princes and the King. The other maid asks why, and right when they're about to tell her...

: (Is it time already?)

He slowly steps out of the shadows walks up to them without making a sound, and the maids gasp in shock while turning pale. It is not so surprising, since one of the subjects of their gossip has decided to show up.

: Hey, what are you three talking about? Why don't you include me? I like to gossip too~

oh mai gawd his facial expression changes in the middle of dialogue as well.

Auger puts on a carefree expression and a cheerful voice to seem friendly to the girls (?). But sure enough, the girls shake their heads from side to side like crazy.

Maid 1: Excuse us, Your Highness Auger, we were...!

Maid 2: P-Please excuse me!

: Eh, but what about the rest? I thought I was hearing something about chopping heads?

Maid 1: No...! There was no such thing! If... if I have brought some sort of misunderstanding.... forgive me.....

: Nope. I won't forgive you. You'll have to die here right now.

Maid 1 gasps, and collapses to the floor. Auger turns his attention to Maid 2 now, who also begs for forgiveness. Auger finds these loud exclamations to be annoying because he has such good hearing and his ears are sensitive. As a musician of the court, it's required of him. He points out his ears AND TWITCHES THEM hnnnnnnnngh, and claims that humans could never understand. Key word "Court Musician": just clarifies that he's a sort of bard, or jester, and that he plays beautiful intoxicating music. Keyword "Human-kind": clarifies that humans are pretty ordinary and have no animal characteristics.

Auger: Look, see my fine ears?~ I can hear everything.

Maid 2: Y... Yes.

Auger: Whaat~, what else do you want to talk about? Perhaps......... killing?

Maid 3: *gasp*

Auger: Human girl-chan, why don't you answer?

Maid 3: Y-Yes!! His Highness Auger!!

Maid 2: Please excuse us!

The maids get tha hell outta dodge, and Auger finds that they have surprising swiftness.

: It seems there are a lot of rumors going about. Heheh, but it's fun, hey...?

Auger chuckles, and continues to leisurely walk down the corridor. He thinks over what he's learned. Although it's now under control, Zodeiba has not completely disappeared. Wolves are attacking towns and villages. Coupled together, these disturbing rumors are able to spread quickly.

: (The possibility of the king's death has even become the source of rumors... Un, this should be pretty fun.)

: Since this is special news, I'd better tell Nii-san all about it.

: Nii-san is so serious. If I don't come prepared, he won't play with me.

: You might as well have all the fun you can, ne?



Auger gives me feels. Nervous feels. (;° ロ°)

I don't know if I'm playing this game for the soundtrack or the graphics but I know everyone in this game terrifies me but the story fascinates me (along with the characters), so yep, definitely planning on getting this game.

This game seems amazing. If I could read Japanese, or understood enough to use a translator and fumble, I'd definitely play this. As things stand I'll content myself with fondly regarding Auger. I love the underhanded scheming ones.

Also his ears are pierced and they move and he wears a bell around his neck. Auger, let me love you.

I don't know which prince is better T_T, I mean Auger plays music. MUSIC! I'm a sucker for musicians. At the same time, Mejojo is an egotist and has such pretty hair. I love both qualities. THIS IS SO UNFAIR!

Auger actually just threatened to kill them. :'D He said "If you ever speak of these things again... I'll kill you?"

It seems to me that the non-psychotic love interests are all unlockables. Then again, it looks like the most psychotic love interest is also an unlockable route, so who knows. At this point, I don't even trust the bunny.

The camera pans up this tower, and it sounds like it is raining quite heavily.



Now we're in Fiona's POV.

Fiona: What an unpleasant rain. It's so dark outside, and it doesn't look like it's going to stop.

Fiona furrows her eyebrows and closes the windows. She utters a sigh. She then lies down on her favorite couch beside the large window,and gazes blankly outside. The rain falls heavily on the other side of the glass.

: Haaa....

Pearl: Haaa...

Richie: Haaa...

Fiona hears two other lonesome sighs by her feet, imitating her. She glances down. There were her two dog companions, the siblings Richie and Pearl, lying flat on the ground. Keyword "Dog species": A species with dog characteristics. Pearl and Richie are two Dog children who live with Fiona as her companions and servants.
Fiona wonders if they can't go outside because of the rain. They are usually so energetic, but today they seem gloomy.



Pearl: Hurry up and stop, rain. :(

Richie: Richie wants to play outside. X(

Pearl: *sigh*

Richie: *sigh*

Pearl: There must be something fun to do. Fiona-chan, play with us~

Fiona admits to herself that she doesn't like the weather either, but seeing her two DOGGIES in a slump looks a little charming. Pearl asks if Fiona also hates the rain and she admits that she does, while Richie complains that playing in the rain messes up his fur. Fiona understands the feeling because of her own long hair. Though with Pearl and Richie, their fur would be cute even if it was messed up. It would be fluffily unrefined.

Fiona gushes some more over her doggies, and goes over the hug them~

Fiona says they smell nice and are soft. ;_; They have a gigglefit and a ticklefight and SO CUTE AMG

The two doggies were brought to this tower by Fiona's father as servants. He adopted them from an orphanage. But they're more her companions than servants. Fiona's body is weak, so her father built a tower for her to live in. Her doggies do little errands for her outside the tower. Since they are still young, they prefer to stay in their puppy forms. X3

Fiona squeezes them one last time and puts them back on the floor.

: Hug time is over?

: Don't be so spoiled Pearl, you're like a child!

: N-No I'm not! It's not like that! I'm an adult!

: Heeeh?

: Haha! Hey, hey, don't quarrel now.

Pearl and Richie go back into their slump on the floor, wishing the rain would stop soon. Fiona mutters to herself that the rain affects her too, even if she can't leave the tower. The weather can change the outside scenery. This rainy day gives off a lazy atmosphere.



A door opens, and in walks Zara. He chuckles and comments that the three of them seem so crestfallen. Fiona turns around and greets her butler and childhood friend, Zara Skeens. He is a young rabbit man and a war orphan, who was picked up by Fiona's father. Keyword "Rabbit species": a species that lives in Weblin with rabbit characteristics. There's something about pharmacology and how that led to a war between the rabbits, Garbaldi, and wolves?

Zara was brought into the household before Fiona was born, but she is as close to him as she is with her good brother Nesso. Keyword "Galland": A distinguished human family that helped found the country of Weblin. Fiona belongs to this House.

Zara asks Fiona to not looks so down due to the rain, but Fiona is worried about her long-awaited 16th birthday party tomorrow. Zara looks a bit nonchalant about it, which get Pearl and Richie yappin at him for being insensitive. Zara says that they're outta line and need discipline, but Pearl hides behind Fiona saying they've been good boys. ^_^ To prove this, Fiona does some supa kawaii doggie tricks with Pearl, which gets him all fired up!



Zara laughs and admits defeat, and that he hopes the weather clears up tomorrow. Richie says that Zara can do anything, so he should call the sun for Fiona's birthday. Fiona tells him not be so careless, but Richie says that Zara can cure anything, so he can cure a rainy day.
DOGGIESSSSSSSSS



Zara has been preparing the party for a while, so he really hopes the weather clears up. Fiona comments that he's been really busy lately, and Zara says he sure has and OH GOD THE BUNNY EARS THEY TWITCHED eeeeeeeeee

Fiona notices that he seems to be a little annoyed. Zara continues, saying that Fiona had to plead with her father to let her have her birthday dinner party outside. A lot of the important people of Weblin, like nobles and such, want to attend to meet the daughter of Earl Galland. Not many people have met Fiona since she has to stay in the tower. So, Zara is in a whirlwind of preparations. He's joking, but Fiona admits to herself that she may have been a bit selfish. But tomorrow is still a special day for her, since it's the first time she can go outside. The puppies yap at Zara about being insensitive, and he laughs, apologizing and saying that he understands Fiona's feelings. He's been looking forward to this day as well, and is glad to prepare it for her.



Since Fiona was born, she's always lived in this tower in the middle of the Shallmessen forest. She's never been outside. For a long time, she's only been surrounded by her servants like Zara. Richie and Pearl were prepared as companions, and OOPS I thought they were both boys but I guess Richie is a girl??? Or maybe they're just wearing pigtails IM SO CONFUSED

Whatever Fiona wanted or need, she was able to have it. She had enough room in the tower to grow and it was sturdily built. She had no inconveniences. However, Fiona has longed to step into the outside world for a long time.

Zara asks Fiona if she resents her father for keeping her in the tower. It's because he's worried about her health. Fiona knows that, and knows that her father cherishes her very much. But, it's a painful understanding. Zara mentions that it's because Fiona is part of the rare "Robeira" (?) species, so it's obvious that her father would be worried about her. Keyword "Robeira" Roberia is a species with weak health from birth. They have weak immune systems, I guess? They are very susceptible to illnesses. They can be born from any race, but they are often human women. Most Robeira's die as children. Because of this, not much else is known about them. They don't have any other special features.

Pearl says that he's always nervous about Fiona, and Richie pipes up that it's because he thinks she's cute. Pearl calls Richie cold. X3



Zara mentions that Fiona has gotten sick from even simple colds many times, and it always got to the point where she would be on the verge of death. Fiona mumbles that that was a long time ago. These days, she can sleep off a cold (?). Zara says even if that's so, that doesn't mean that there's no chance of it happening again. Fiona reluctantly agrees, and Zara adds that he's harping on her because he cares about his OJOU-SAMA~

Fiona and Zara have had these conversations many times before. She says she wants to go out, and Zara shuts her down. But, Fiona understands that everyone is just looking out for her. So, Fiona is working hard to overcome her weakness as a Robeira. She tries not to be a picky eater, and to take all the medicine that she's given without complaint. She also works on her stamina (?). Zara says that he's heard about the races Fiona has with her maids from the bottom to the top of the tower.

Fiona is shocked that Zara knows, and looks away from him. Pearl and Richie pipe up that it was a lot of fun, and Fiona let's out that she won. Zara is a bit put out, asking if Fiona wants to be scolded. Fiona mutters, asking why she was born a Robeira, and Zara simply shrugs his shoulders. Fiona thinks to herself that the only reason she's still alive is thanks to her father's resources. Keyword "Earl": I think it means 3rd rank below the throne? Zara was chosen to take care of Fiona because of his skills in medicine. Keyword "Pharmacology": Knowledge of herbs and herbal medicine. Fiona feels that her father is overprotective though, and keeping her in a bloody tower is going too far.

Pearl tells her to cheer up and look forward to tomorrow. Richie calls Pearl simple-minded. They have a widdle puppy fight ; w;

Fiona sighs as she watches them argue. Fiona thinks to herself, her Father decided to isolate her from the world in order to protect her from dying of illness at an early age. Fiona has lived in this tower in Shallmessan for as long as she's been alive. Her family, half-brother, and her father visit her often, though. Besides Pearl and Richie, Zara has been at her side for a long time too. Fiona wonders if her nagging at wanting to go out may have been way too selfish considering her state. Still.... she longs for the outside world. But, having a garden party is a big step. Zara congratulates Fiona's persistence.

: (But if the rain doesn't stop... the party will surely be cancelled.)

Or, maybe it will be moved into the hall of the Galland house. But Fiona is really looking forward to the party being outside.

Suddenly, a door opens, and to everyone's surprise..........

Nesso: Hey, my princess! Happy Birthday!

INCOMING SISCON DUCK AND COVER

A tall man stood by the door, holding a big bouquet. This is Nesso Galland, Fiona's half-brother.

: Please, won't you accept my present?



Fiona: R-right!

Nesso hands Fiona a big bouquet, a friendly smile on his face. Fiona wonders if he came here even in the rain. There are large water drops on top of the flower petals.

Fiona: Thank you Nesso! These flowers are very beautiful. But wasn't it hard to travel in the rain?

A "CG Click" button appears on the text box. This activates specific dialog for each person that you can listen to by clicking on them in the CG (except Fiona), which is voiced but textless >_> Wellllllll from what I can tell, the doggies are like "OMG FLOWERS", Nesso talks about his wonderful present.....?, and Zara comments that Fiona looks so happy. Efffffff i dunno.

Nesso: Haha, it was no big deal. It was for a cutie like you, so I'm happy that you like it.

Nesso's laughter was refreshing, and the bouquet smelled sweet, if a little wet.



Fiona: (They smell so nice.)

Nesso hopes Fiona is happy with with them, as that would make him happy as well. He saw them in a flower shop on his way over, so he bought them. But his "proper" present will be given tomorrow, and tells her to look forward to it. Fiona is happy with just the flowers, but is glad that there are more presents. Nesso says that Fiona will definitely like his present tomorrow.

Pearl and Richie demand presents for them too, because they've been working so hard protecting Fiona. Nesso laughs, and says he has special snacks for them, on the condition that they've been behaving. Zara and Nesso greet each other, and Zara takes the flowers to put them in a vase. Fiona hands over the armful of flowers, and Zara leaves the room

Fiona suddenly remembers that she forgot to welcome Nesso home. So, she does. Nesso looks Fiona in the eyes due to this greeting, and his face relaxes and he smiles.

By the way, the characters so far have left a pause or just left out Fiona's name in their dialogue. Nesso replaces Fiona's name in the script with ohime-sama. sisconnnnnnnnnnn

Though, I think Zara does this too with ojou-sama ("honorable young lady" I think)

: I'm home! Will you embrace me as usual, Fiona?

SISCONNNNNNNNNNNNN

: Yes, of course.

BROCONNNNNNNNNNNN

Inspired by Nesso's mischievous voice, Fiona goes over to hug him. Nesso extends his arms to her. Nesso squeeeeeezes his lil ohime-sama >_> Fiona thinks Nesso smells of flowers, maybe because of the bouquet. Fiona returns his hug to welcome him back.

: How was work? Anything dangerous?



Nesso: Not really. There's not much to say.

Fiona: Is that so?

Nesso: Yea. This time, we were sent to a small village to the north that was attacked by Wolves. I was sent along with the men....



Nesso: But the village was in a deplorable state. Everything was gone or destroyed.

Pearl: Uh....

Fiona: Really...

Richie: Why did they... do that?

Nesso: It was a small, peaceful village. When we arrived.... there was nothing left.

Fiona: Scary...

Fiona wasn't feeling fear for the Wolves that attacked the village, but rather that Nesso had such a potentially dangerous assignment. Maybe, in the future, Nesso would be sent somewhere in the midst of an attack....



Nesso is a Knight in the service of Weblin. He is in the "Winged Knight Squadron" (?), and is their leader. Keyword "Winged Knight Squadron": Name of the squadron that Nesso belongs to. The origin of the name comes from the wing design on the Knight's Crest. Nesso is their leader at the moment, even though he's young. Nesso fights for the country, and so Fiona understands that he can be dispatched to places in a state of emergency. Nesso can handle it due to his training. Fiona still has some lingering doubts, though.

Fiona: Please, stay safe.

Nesso: Ah, I know. Don't worry.

A door opens, and Zara comes back into the room.



Zara: Good grief, there's no end to worrying about you.

Zara has returned from arranging the flowers in Fiona's room. Nesso says that he's fine, since he's the best swordsman in Weblin. Keyword "Top Knight": uhhhh I think it's just Nesso's a really famous knight?

Fiona: Yeah, I shouldn't worry.

Nesso gets in close to Fiona and calls her a good girl, and sweeps the hair off her forehead to kiss her.



Zara: Hey, hey! Nara, please do not cling to the young lady.

Nesso: Eh? Why?

Zara: Because you're all wet. Here, use this towel please.

Nesso: Ah yea, that would be bad. Sorry Fiona. Are you cold?

Fiona: No, I'm fine.

Nesso begins to wipe his hair and clothes with the towel.

Fiona: So, the rain outside is as bad as it looks?

Nesso: That's right.... the ground was really muddy. It was troublesome to make the horse run.

Zara: You should have just waited for the rain to pass.



Nesso replies that the rain wasn't so terrible as to prevent him from wishing his sister a happy birthday. But Zara makes a point that if Nesso was injured, it would be bad for everyone. Nesso says that everything's fine, as a knight he knows how to handle a horse. Zara still wants him to be careful, anyway.

Since Nesso joined the Knights, he's not around as much as before, but he's still the same. Zara is about to prepare dinner, so he invites Nesso to stay. Nesso agrees, as he's wanted to eat with Fiona for a long time. Zara says that he'll alert the main building to include one more guest, and Fiona adds that Zara should invite Father as well. Nesso laughs, saying that Father will fly over here if invited by Fiona. Zara thinks the same.

Usually, the only inhabitants of the tower are Fiona, Pearl, Richie, Zara, and some other servants. Father lives in the main building nearby. Fiona is never worried about Father, but rather is worried that he's controlling her life so much. Fiona can't live in the main building because so many people come and go, and she may catch something. Fiona thinks her Father is ridiculously overprotective to build an effing tower just for her. But, Fiona says to herself that she can't deny having a good time. Nesso worries about Fiona too.



Fiona is looking forward to having dinner with her family like old times, and glances outside the window at the downpour....

Is there a route where we can just kind of stay inside and frolic with puppies? That would be the best route.

As Nesso predicted, Father was delighted to receive the invitation to dinner.

Edgar (?): So, Fiona will be turning 16.

Fiona: Yea! I won't just be a young lady anymore.

Edgar seemed unaffected by Fiona. With a smile, he still looked at Fiona like she were a child.

Fiona: (It's the same look that he uses for Pearl and Richie...)

Fiona: Father... don't you understand what it means for me to turn 16?

At 16, it's normal for people to get married. A daughter of a noble should have been wed by now, as well. People start to treat you as an adult. Keyword "Noble": Honorable position, social privilege. Humans, Cats, and Wolves were originally the majority of the aristocracy.

Edgar says that no matter what, Fiona will always be his little princess. Nesso butts in, and adds that Fiona will also always be his cute princess. seriously, nesso, plz, just, plz. On the other hand, Pearl chimes in that they're wrong, and Fiona is his princess. But no, Richie says that Fiona is her princess!!!!



Fiona: ...Good grief.

Zara is a bit surprised, and wonders when Pearl and Richie shapeshifted. It's because everyone's having dinner sitting at the table, and they felt left out. Nesso, Pearl, and Richie get into an argument over who claims Fiona as their Princess, and Zara chides Nesso to not act like such a baby. Fiona mentions to herself that it's just like old times.

Then, the others go over once more that Fiona is finally turning 16. Richie adds that at 16, Fiona can now kiss people..... or maybe it's Richie that can now kiss Fiona?



Zara: Oi Richie, where did you hear such a thing?

Richie: Nowhere in particular~ It doesn't matter anyway, I've been licking Fiona-chan in my dog form~~

Pearl: ...? Ah? Ah!! That's right!! That's a nice way to think about it!



Nesso flips the fuck out. Zara points out that his opponents are children.

Nesso: But.... but, licking....

Fiona: Ummmm, everyone? Hello?

In her heart, Fiona acknowledges that she's grateful for everyone valuing her so highly, but she still feels embarrassed at their attention. Some part of her feels she doesn't understand them (?). Since she is a Robeira, when she was young she slept a lot. In all cases, Zara, Nesso, and her Father fretted and took care of her. Fiona thinks she must have been a difficult child to raise. She must have been able to live this long because of everyone's care. It's not possible for Fiona to express her full gratitude. But even with all that everyone's done, Fiona longs to be free of the tower. She wants to walk in the garden, feel the wind on her face, and her feet on the ground. Everyday, she thinks of outside. So, she felt that she had to whine to have an outside party for her 16th birthday. As Zara said, her persistence won out. Fiona asks her father if, after the birthday party, they could spend more time together, and Edgar finds this such a cute idea that he'll move into the tower immediately. Fiona goes "BLAH DAD NO i wanna live in the main building"



Nesso laughs, and says he thinks Dad is just playing dumb. Nesso and Father laugh together, but their looks soon turn serious. Father is happy that Fiona is getting better, but is still nervous about her leaving the tower. Since she lives high in the tower, she's able to breathe the pure air (?). If she lives on the ground, it might be easier for her to get sick. Nesso adds that Zodeiba is still around, and that the world has become a cruel place in the last ten years.

Fiona wonders how much trust she should place in her body. Is she healthier because she's older now? Did life in the tower improve her health? Or was it something else? It's a difficult situation. Even though she wants to go outside, she's afraid of going out there alone as well.

Edgar mentions that he's lost two of his wives already to illness, and couldn't bear to lose Fiona. Pearl tells Fiona to not have such a sad face, and Richie reassures her, saying that she has them to protect her. Fiona says to herself that she must remind Father of her mother. So, that's why Father is so overprotective. Fiona has heard that people in the aristocracy call her "The Princess of the Elegant Birdcage", due to her father's pampering. She feels a little shy about that. She reassures herself, saying that people are just curious, since only family or servants come to the tower.....



Fiona suddenly recalls something, and Nesso asks what's up. She tells him she was just thinking about when Mejojo and Auger would visit the tower, and she wonders how they are.

Fiona: Are they coming to tomorrow's party?

Nesso: Oh.... you mean His Highness Mejojo and His Highness Auger?

Edgar: ...

Fiona: (...Ah?)

Suddenly, Father and Nesso's faces become cloudy. Fiona wonders if something has happened, and glances to Zara for help, but he releases a troubled sigh as well.



Zara: It seems he has still has not given up on you.

Fiona: Ah...

Nesso says that he's rejected him several times, and Father has written many official letters formally declining the offer, but Mejojo is still persistent. Edgar encourages Nesso not to quit, and tells Fiona that Mejojo has taken an interest in her.

Fiona: Ehhh??



Their interest in Fiona started many years ago. One day, Father was summoned by King Garibaldi VI, and asked if his sons could have an audience with Edgar's daughter. The tower was in a fuss getting ready for the visit. And since then, every few months Mejojo and Auger would come for a visit. If it is true that Mejojo is trying to woo her, then Fiona thinks it should be a great honor. Wouldn't it be wonderful? A normal noble would be overjoyed that the Crown Prince favors his daughter. However, Father and Nesso were scowling at the thought. Fiona thinks it must be because she's a Robeira. She thinks that even if she lived at the palace, they are worried that her body would not adapt and she would weaken.

So far, Fiona has had a lot of benefits from being a noble's daughter. So, if she had to be married off, she could accept that.

Fiona: (There's nothing wrong with Mejojo, but...)

Fiona's image of marriage is with someone you love.

Fiona asks why Mejojo is so eager, and Nesso replies that if he gave up, he would lose face. Edgar tells him not to say something so callous, but Nesso says it's alright since they're in private. Nesso goes on to say that the Royal Family has become increasingly arrogant, and they look down on the other species. So, sending Fiona to people like them...

Edgar reminds Nesso that he's a Knight sworn to serve the Royal Family and country, and on top of that the leader of the Winged Knight's Squadron. Nesso replies that he's performing his Knight duties well, but the story becomes different when Fiona is involved.



Nesso: To begin with, Fiona is my bride.

Fiona: What?

Zara: Not this again, Nesso...

Nesso cracks up. Fiona realizes that he was just joking, and Edgar sighs. While Nesso is being chided, Edgar still looks a bit tired. He must be anxious that he keeps refusing the Crown Prince. Fiona pipes up, that as the daughter of the Galland House, she'll willingly go into marriage. Nesso quickly rejects this, and Edgar nods along with him, so Fiona just nods bitterly. But, she accuses them of being too overprotective. Nesso says that Fiona doesn't understand because she's still a child, but then the PUPPIES interject that Fiona should marry them~ It seems they were quiet so far because they were busy with their food. Fiona finds them suuuuupa kawaiiiiiii

Zara sighs, telling them not to be so familiar in front of Edgar. But the PUPPIES tell him that Fiona-chan told them to call her like this~

Zara throws a disapproving glance at Fiona. Fiona mumbles out that she found it cute. Even though Pearl and Richie are her servants, they are also her companions, so she thought it was fine. But Zara is always so proper.... Plus, Pearl and Richie are still just children. Pearl adds that outside of the tower, they call her Fiona-sama. Edgar says that everything's fine, since they're been left in Fiona's care.

Nesso comes in to say that it doesn't matter that they want to marry Fiona, because the only one who can marry her is someone who can beat him. Zara tells him that's dumb, since he's the best swordsman in the country.

WHICH IS THE POINT

Fiona feels like she'll never be married. Nesso laughs, and says that he'll always protect her. Fiona blushes, and when she glances at Nesso she sees that his face is casual, as always. Their blood is only half-connected, and among nobles, mayrying your relatives is not uncommon.

Fiona goes on to say that her heart races when she looks at Nesso. U BROCON

Suddenly, a strong wind blows against the windows. They're at a high altitude, but it's stronger than usual... is the storm coming near? They're reminded about the party tomorrow. If it is postponed, Fiona says that she will eagerly wait for the next chance. Edgar starts to apologize, when suddenly....



Nesso orders everyone to be quiet with a serious expression, and everyone shuts up immediately. The sound of horses can then be heard, and Nesso says that the wind and rain must have been covering it up. Edgar has heard nothing of a visitor at this hour, and neither has Nesso. He stands up quickly to look out the window. Nesso's face become severe, and Fiona asks if there's something wrong. Everyone leaves their seats to look out the window as well.



It's pouring outside, but they can see Knights surrounding the tower. Edgar reveals that they look like Mejojo's or Auger's bodyguards. Nesso wonders what the hell they want, and Zara adds that things don't look good. Nesso suggests that Fiona and Edgar return to their rooms, and that he'll meet with the guards. They head to their rooms, but some maids burst in because the people outside have already invaded the tower. Sounds of armor and footsteps can be heard coming up the stairs. Nesso orders them to go, quickly, and moves his hand to his sword. But, the footsteps eventually stop outside the door to the dining room.

Cat Knights bust open the door and start to rush into the room. Keyword "Cat species": Species with cat characteristics. They have excellent agility and a wiry physique. They are one of the founding species along with Humans and Wolves, but now are the source of repression for Weblin.



Richie and Pearl react and get in front of Fiona, as they are her guard dogs. They transform into their beast forms and start to bark and jump at the knights. Zara calls for them, but Fiona isn't sure if it's to encourage them or hold them back. Pearl and Richie might be able to overpower a common thief, but these were knights of the Prince...

Effortlessly, they kick Pearl and Richie ACROSS THE ROOM ;_; MY BABIESSSS

Nesso is about to BEAT THEIR ASS for animal cruelty but the guards say it was in self-defense. No one makes a move, and when they deem it safe, they motion for someone outside to come in.



Prince Auger enters the room with a radiant, but out of place, smile. There's another "CG Click" mode, where I can click Auger's face and..... chest. I don't knowwwwwwww but he sounds amused ;_;

Fiona finds Auger's smile to be a bit scary, considering the circumstances. Auger greets Fiona, saying it's been a while. He's sorry that he had to interrupt such a nice dinner, but he came here to catch a witch. Fiona gets a bad feeling. There are no other women in the room (so Richie IS a boy), and Auger is looking straight at her.
Edgar tells Auger to explain himself, and Nesso asks that the guards leave. It doesn't fit the behavior of a knight to enter a lady's room like this. Auger says that it's fine, because he's not a knight or a prince. He's a musician of the court, and he has no other choice but to enter this way. Nesso tells him to explain.



Auger calmly tells him to cool his jets, and Zara informs Nesso that he should be quiet. Auger agrees, saying that Nesso should listen to his rabbit friend. He continues, saying that Zodeiba has begun to spread in the area. It seems that the cause is the work of a witch living at the top of a tower. Fiona catches on as to what he's getting at, and Zara call this preposterous. Auger mentions that Mr. Rabbit just told everyone to shut up, and look who's talking now? People in the area have been directly appealing to the castle, so they had to investigate. It wouldn't be good if it seemed that the Royal Family was ignoring this, so.... here he is.



He's come to arrest Fiona. Everyone in the rooms tells him to stop joking around. Auger loses his shit and starts cracking up, saying that they're all so easy and simple-minded. Nesso starts acting up and Auger acts all coy, but Zara tells him to stop.



The storm starts to rage outside. Among the sounds of the wailing wind and torrential downpour, Auger stands laughing with a wide smile in the middle of the room.

By the way, I'm going to stream Black Wolves from the beginning, up until what I've posted. If you're interested in seeing it in motion and the voice acting, come and watch. :) I'll start in about 15 minutes. My info is in the stream thread.

Wow. That was a disturbing beginning.

The song that plays on the website is so beautiful. All songs should stick a string instrument in, it just sounds better. I can even listen to rap (though enjoying it is another matter) if there's a violin in the background.

The spottled effect (regarding the art) is overused. I assume they did it for texture but the colors the artist used are all similar + the spottled effect = everything blends together. He just threw salt over all of the sprites.

As long as I get to go through his route first~ For research. Yes.

The music is reaaaaaaally nice. Sometimes I just let the game run and listen to the music while I do other things *_* And I can see what you mean about the art. I've come to appreciate it, but it can be off-putting. The blue effect would be nice, but it feels overused. Or maybe it stands out too much? >_>

Back in the castle hallways, and back in the POV of Auger. He yawns, commenting that he's so bored, and that he could die from the boredom. He tried to leave his room to find something interesting to do, but so far, nothing. The Royal Castle is peaceful today.

Auger: *sigh*.... this peace is boring.

Auger thinks that castles should be full of gloom and nefarious schemes, and that this recent peaceful atmosphere is just tedium. Uh, okay, whatever you say man O_O

Auger walks around aimlessly, then stops.



Auger: ... I'll go and visit Nii-san. With Nii-san, I might find something fun to do. Mmhm.

Auger changes direction toward Nii-san's room, and briskly walks down the corridor. Even though they're twin princes, Auger and Mejojo never fight and have a pretty good relationship. So, Auger hangs around Mejojo's room on a daily basis. Auger has made it clear that he has no interest in the throne, but he has an interest in interesting events (?). Otherwise, he doesn't care. In this sense, Auger loves his Nii-san because he doesn't bore him.

: (Let's see what fun can be had with Nii-san today.)

: Hmm hm hmmmm~

Auger hums to himself while heading into Mejojo's room.

: Yahho, Nii-san. You busy?~

Auger didn't knock. He knows Mejojo doesn't mind, and Auger doesn't care either. They have nothing to hide from each other, as they're brothers and understand each other. Auger expects him to be busy with work as the next king, and didn't want to disturb him by knocking.



Mejojo: .............

Auger sees that his Nii-san seems to be in a sullen mood.

Auger: Huh? Is Nii-san in a bad mood?

Mejojo: ...Ah, Auger.

Mejojo looks up from the document in his hand, and mutters Auger's name so unpleasantly.

Auger: (This is unusual.)

Usually, if something offends Mejojo, then there is no mercy. It's also the usual case that once Auger entered the room, he would be ordered to take care of whatever is bothering Mejojo. Nevertheless, this case seems unusal, and Mejojo has a thoughtful look on his face.



Auger: (Is it something that cannnot be easily resolved? It's hard for even the next king to deal with?)

Mejojo: It's the reply from Earl Edgar Galland.

Mejojo slams the letter onto the desk, clearly irritated.

: Ah, is it perhaps another refusal? While we're on the subject, I'm curious Nii-san, how many has it been already?

: Will you give up soon? Please, forget about the marriage. You'd be much happier playing with me!



Mejojo: Be silent.

Auger: I don't understand why you're so obsessed with that child~

Mejojo: I told you to be silent.

Auger: Ye~s.



Auger realizes that Mejojo is being serious. He shuts his trap before he angers him further, because if Mejojo really became angry, then he wouldn't play with Auger for a while. So, Auger resists the temptation to speak as much as he can.

Auger: (At any rate... Nii-san really hasn't learned anything.)

The source of Mejojo's moodiness lies with the Galland family. Auger doesn't completely understand, but Mejojo fancies (I don't think this isn't the right word, more like "is pleased with") the young girl of the Galland family. Fiona.

Fiona Galland.

Every time Mejojo requests her as his fiancee, he is refused every time, on the basis that she is a Robeira and thus has a weak body. Auger doesn't think she's that pretty anyway, maybe above average. He has been taken by Mejojo to play at her tower several times already. Suddenly, Auger realizes that maybe it has something to do with Mejojo's ex-fiance. 10 years ago, Mejojo was engaged to another member of the Galland family. Fiona and this lady are blood related. Even though she was engaged, she fell in love with another man. So, Mejojo is still chasing that lady's shadow even after all these years...



Auger: (When you say it like that, it seems like a tragic love...)

However, Mejojo did not love that woman. Auger thinks that it hurt his pride that something that was "his" was taken away from him, and instead was gained by some low-ranking Knight. Basically, the woman did not choose Mejojo. It's like Mejojo lost one of his toys (?), and Auger understands that feeling. Even so, Auger thinks Mejojo is placing too much importance to that girl. Mejojo needs to calm down and think a little.



Auger: Come on Nii-san, do you want to take her by force? I can help.

Auger offers his service. Brutal, violent service. Mejojo asks him if he thinks he hasn't already thought of that? The Galland house is favored by their father.



Auger: Ah............ Indeed.

The Galland House is an old line of human nobles. Their lineage is related to the founding of Weblin, and they have a deep friendship with the Royal Family. You might say that that's how the marriage proposals came about. With a more trivial family, to topic of marriage would not even be brought up. Mejojo mutters that Edgar and Nesso have high positions due to the King. It's rather annoying. Auger wishes the Galland house would be more foolish so as not to be so troublesome. Truly, stupidity is a virtue for subordinate people. Independent thinking just leads to trouble.



Auger: (Ah... If that's the case...)

Auger: Nii-san. I just had a good idea!

Mejojo: You?

Auger: Wa, you wound me. I just want to help you, Nii-san.

Mejojo: I'm listening. Speak.

Auger: Nii-san, you're so cold. There are various ways to execute a plan, y'know.



Mejojo: Your spirit is wounded just like that? If that's the case, wouldn't that mean that the main point you're bringing up is simply worthless?

Auger: .....Mm.

Mejojo: No matter, speak quickly.

Auger: (To be ignored is painful, Nii-san.)

Auger: As I said Nii-san, you're being unfriendly.

However, that indifference is his nature.

Auger: So, recently, I've been hearing around rumors about a witch.

With a sweet smile, Auger proposes his plan to capture Fiona Galland....

After listening to your stream, Manis, I really want this game to have an English release. The voicework, it pleases me. Not to mention the art and music. The story is disturbing, but I can probably deal with that in a 15+ game.

There would probably be a better chance of a fan patch than an English release. But both of those probabilities are pretty much non-existent. :(

I don't know how well it sold, but if it is/was popular in Japan there might be an anime.

Fiona is in chains, and thinks that this must be a lie. Up until a little while ago, she was having a happy dinner with her family. Even though the storm raged outside, the dining room was warm and safe. Everyone was laughing and smiling, having a good time. At the same time, they were also discussing about the party tomorrow, and about how it's such bad luck that it would have to be postponed due to the weather. Despite that, however, Fiona was able to pull herself together and enjoy her family's lighthearted conversation. That is, until now.

Fiona: (... I was arrested.)

Her hands were chained behind her back.

Flashback...



Nesso: Stop....! Why are you chaining Fiona?! What do you intend to do?! Don't touch her!

Edgar says there must be some misunderstanding, since Fiona has never left this tower. She couldn't have committed any sort of crime. He asks Auger if he could at least remove the chains, since Fiona couldn't resist the Knights even if she wanted to. They'll follow Auger's command, so he asks Auger to not be so cruel.

Flashforward....

Fiona sighs. Nesso and Edgar asked Auger many times to remove Fiona's chains. Nevertheless, Auger just kept his ruthless smile.

Flashback...



Auger: I'm sorry? But this is one of the basic customs regarding witches. We're scared that she might be the real deal.

Flashforward...

Fiona: (He just asserted his radiant smile, without intimidation.)

In the end, Fiona obediently allowed the chains so as to not cause a conflict. But, they're heavier than she expected. Her wrists really hurt. Fiona knows that she hasn't done anything wrong, so she thinks she'll be okay. But it's more miserable than she imagined it would be. She has become depressed very quickly. Is it because her freedom has been taken away, or is it that the chains make her feel like a criminal?

She rode in a locked wagon to the capital of Weblin and to the Royal Castle. Fiona has always dreamed of leaving the tower, but not like this. What brings her back to the reality of the situation is the weight of the chains hanging from hands. Then, she is escorted by a Knight, and brought to the throne room for an audience. Fiona looks around, and sees that a fair amount of people have gathered in the hall as well. Nesso, Edgar, and Zara are here too, but Pearl and Richie were left behind to guard the tower. Fiona is relieved to see the three of them. A guard announces the entrance of the King accompanied by fanfare, which startles Fiona. This is the first time Fiona will meet the King.

Some tense as hell music starts to play, holy shit the music is so goooooood

The King starts off addressing Edgar, saying that he's heard the rumors that his only daughter, Fiona, may be a witch. The king asks if this is true.



Edgar: Your Majesty...! If you call me a dear friend, please, show some compassion...!

Edgar: This is my only daughter. Please, Your Majesty, see the truth and save her!

Nesso: Your Majesty, this story of Fiona being a witch is just some unfounded rumor!

Mejojo walks in.



Mejojo: Earl Galland, Nesso. I understand your anger, considering the circumstances, but know your place.

Nesso: Your Highness....!

Mejojo then calls Nesso an ugly bastard. His own top Knight of Weblin, leader of the Winged Squadron, of all people, is talking back to the King.... holy hell Mejojo you petty ass. Fuckin lolz, but still... XD

Nesso: ... However, your Highness...

Mejojo: "However" is not enough. You should be grateful that you are even receiving an audience.

Mejojo: Earl Edgar has contributed much to Weblin, and so, we shall repay the favor.



Auger: Yea yea, that's right~

Mejojo: And yet, this bastard dares to intrude? You are in the presence of the King, are you not? Bow your head and kneel!

Edgar: ...............

Nesso: ...............!

Fiona: (Mejojo....?)



Nesso and Edgar came here to defend Fiona's innocence, and yet Mejojo only has cold words for them. Fiona feels that it seems like they've entered Mejojo's domain.

Auger: That's right, your dad has done so much in the past. You should restrain that unsightly behavior.

Auger seems to be hanging back, behind Mejojo, and only jumping into the conversation when he can.

Mejojo: Here... we have brought several villagers who live in Earl Gallands territory. They have raised the accusations against you.



Fiona: (They.... think I'm the witch?)

Mejojo motions towards some villagers standing by. They look out of place in the castle, but they raise their eyes and glare at Fiona with hatred. Not just hatred, but also fear. They were afraid of Fiona.

Fiona: (.... Really, they really think I'm a witch.)

Fiona is shocked. They weren't joking, and there's no misunderstanding going on. They truly have no doubts about it. Mejojo orders the villagers to, once more, describe the witch's crimes. One villager says that he saw a black crow land on the outskirts of the village, coming from the Shallmessan forest. Immediately after that, his grandpa, who lived on the edges of the village, became sick and died. It must have been because of the crow, and the witch must have cursed him.

Fiona: (What... !)

Another villager adds that that's not all. As a shepherd, her sheep were attacked and killed by a Wolf. The witch must have ordered the Wolves to do that. Also, she heard from a nearby village that there was a woman seen walking with the Wolves. Another villager chimes in that he heard the witch makes her medicine by digging up people's graves. When they were taking victims of Zodeiba to be buried, they found the graveyard completely ruined.

People begin to murmur, and Fiona can't believe people are seriously taking these ridiculous claims as proof. These are unpleasant things that happen in everyday life, but they want to blame it on a witch.

Mejojo: Now, then.... Fiona. These people have voiced their side. Do you have an explanation?

Fiona: ...!

Even Fiona can see the inconsistency and holes in their claims... but Mejojo doesn't seem to notice them. Nevertheless, he orders Fiona to explain her defense as if nothing was wrong. Fiona feels like he's harassing her.



Fiona: I am not a witch! I am a human, so I can't become a bird!

Fiona: Besides that, everyone know that I've never been outside my tower.

Fiona: There's no way I could have done any of this, or even to go near your villages. I don't control any Wolves, and I don't know how to make medicine!

Fiona: ...Why has everyone pinned me as a witch, in the first place?



Mejojo: Hmmm... I certainly agree with you.

Mejojo traces his jaw with his finger. He looks deep in thought.

Fiona: (If they want to say I'm a witch, they need some better evidence.)

Mejojo: Do you all have anything else to add?

Mejojo: What basis do you have for claiming Fiona is a witch?

The villagers hesitate and fall silent. They look at each other.



Fiona: (After all, there is no reason.)

Mejojo: What's wrong? There is no need to have reservations. You are in the presence of His Majesty Garibaldi VI.

Mejojo: You will not be punished for testifying against the daughter of Earl Edgar. Do not worry, and speak your mind.

The villagers still hesitate little, and one stumbles on his words, but eventually points out that Fiona is a Robeira and shouldn't be alive. Even though ordinary people around the country are dying of Zodeiba, why does a Robeira get to live? Fiona is shocked at their words. The villagers conclude that Fiona must be a witch, and that is how she has managed to survive. Fiona must be using the Wolves to attack people for her rituals to extend her life span. Also, the Earl has been buying a lot of strange medicine. A rabbit man has been seen talking around about making medicine.

Zara: ......

The villagers conclude that it must have been for making the witch's medicine. And, maybe the Gallands kept Fiona in the tower to hide away the fact that she was a witch. People start to murmur again. Fiona is at a loss for words.

Fiona: (They know I'm a Roberia, but yet they still testify that I'm a witch?)



Zara: I was buying the medicine for the Earl, in order to find a cure for my Lady! In addition, my Lady has to live in the tower to protect her from illness. There is no other reason!

Nesso: It's as Zara says! Moreover... how dare you say that Fiona being alive is proof that she's a witch!

The villagers flinch at the intensity from Zara and Nesso, and falter, though they soon get loud again. Fiona starts to raise her voice, but Auger tells the Princess of the Birdcage to calm down.

Mejojo: Now then, Father. These are the appeals of the villagers. What will you do?

Garibaldi VI: Hmm....

Edgar: Your Majesty...!! Though Fiona is a Robeira, she has survived till now because of my care! It is not because she is a witch...!!

The villagers get into an uproar, and tell Edgar that he's lying. He needs to produce evidence that she isn't a witch. Fiona finds this absurd. She realizes that the only proof that she's not a witch would be to die from illness. Everyone continues to argue, Fiona is at a loss, and the King looks troubled.



Auger: Hummm. Everyone looks stumped, Nii-san. Don't you have any good ideas?

Mejojo: ...That is right. Your Majesty, may I speak openly?

Garibaldi: ...What. Go ahead.

Mejojo: As the villagers have said, it seems the misfortune stems from a witch.

Mejojo: In that case... shall we invite Fiona to live in the castle? If disaster strikes the castle as well, then we could confirm that Fiona is a witch.



Nesso: Wh-...!

Zara: That's...!!

Fiona: I.... to the castle....?

Edgar: But, Your Majesty! As I have said so far, Fiona has delicate health...! If she is suddenly moved to the castle, her body will surely be ruined!

Garibaldi: Let's have you stay at the castle for now. It won't be hard, we'll take care of you. You only have to spend a little while here to prove that you are not a witch, nothing more.

Fiona: (I'll.... live in the castle...?)

Mejojo grabs a hold of Fiona's chains around her hands and leaves the room. Behind Fiona, she hears the voices of her family calling out her name.



Fiona: (Nesso...! Zara...! Father.....!!)

Fiona doesn't know what's going on, or what's in store for the future, but she feels petrified by fear...

Fiona: (Why.... How could this happen...?)

Tomorrow is her birthday. Just a short time ago, she was so excited for it. But now, everything's changed. Now, Fiona can only pray, and trudge on behind Mejojo...





Oh Nesso. If you weren't such a siscon, I might have felt bad for you. So instead, I will give more sympathy to papa Edgar, Fiona, and Zara (ノД`)・゜・。 During that whole separation sequence, there was some pretty sad violin music playing. SO SAD yet SO GOOD

I just want to play with Mejojo's hair. It's so pretty and blonde. This game is gonna drive me insane. So many pretty men!

Haha, your thoughts while playing through this are basically identical to mine when I played the first time. :P (Including all of the "PUPPIES!!!!" and "THEIR EARS MOVE!!" stuff... so cute.)

Mejojo's hair looks weird to me because his hair looks exactly the same as Auger's hair... but then it's randomly longer in the middle section of his hair in the back. o_o So it looks like he gets the sides cut short and leaves a chunk of it long in the back, like a mullet. Mullet prince... no...

Also, as a random thing, I love how both of the cat princes have tiny cat bells by their necks. I can just picture them walking down the halls of the castle and having their teeny little cat bells merrily jingling all the way.

Would it be weird if I said that I have this itty bitty obsessing with mullets for some unknown reason? XD
