I'm sorry, I didn't mean to leave anyone out or anything weird like that. :( What happened was, I didn't realize that I would be going on winter break this week, and so I wanted to do one last stream with my uni internet speed because I'm not sure if my parent's internet can handle it. I'll definitely make an effort to plan ahead in the future!

    ~Flashback~

Elvira: Um, Mejojo. I will be honest. I... I think that I like Arles.

    Mejojo: ....Huh?

Elvira: Excuse me. No matter what, I cannot suppress these feelings... It is not possible... to spend my life like this.

Elvira: Besides, surely you view me as more like a little sister, I think....

Elvira: I already told my Father about this, and I also wanted to tell you.

Her still youthful features were slightly scarlet with her determination, even though she tried to hide it. To believe. To wish. To hope that would be enough to make all your dreams come true.

Elvira Galland. Mejojo's fiance was a young girl. A Robeira girl. The engagement was immediate, and she was brought to the castle. Castle life continued without any change. A naive, sickly, effete woman. If Mejojo was asked if he loved his fiance, he would surely say no. Even though, you could say a Robeira has a fleeting beauty. However.

Even though she was his fiance, the fact was that she loved a Wolf knight in the royal guard named Arles Vogart (? Sure doesn't sound like Felnoir...) ... It was not easy for her to admit it. Regardless, she was to become Mejojo's property, so how could something that was his possession say such a thing?

    AWWWWWW HERE WE GO *BARF*

~Flash... somewhere to some nobles talking in a hallway~

Nobleman 3: No, Sir Arles seems to be quite generous. In the Wolf Knights, he boasts unrivaled strength.

Nobleman 4: Yea, just and upright, and his attitude never changes... Although a bit awkward, I feel he's a good guy.

Nobleman 3: His Majesty seems to love him as if he was his own son.

    uh oh

Nobleman 4: In the past war, he played an active role in rescuing His Majesty. He was awarded the title, "Silver Wolf of Salvation of the Country".

Nobleman 4: Aah.... His Majesty, too. He wants Julian-sama to be close to Arles.

Nobleman 3: Now that you mention it, Sir Arles and Julian-sama do look alike. Even though they're of different species, Cat-kind and Wolf-kind...

Nobleman 3: Even though Arles is a young man, maybe..... Possibly.

    Nobleman 4: You don't say...

Nobleman 3: No no, not at all. I didn't say anything.

    ~Flashback to Mejojo's room~

Mejojo had finally gotten rid of Julian, but now he's being compared to someone again. Arles Vogart. Even though he's a Wolf, he's a favorite of the king's. Their father barely talks to Mejojo or Auger, but he always talks about Arles. The Silver Wolf of Salvation of the Country. A Knight in the royal guard. A genius swordsman. And now, he's snatching away Elvira, Mejojo's fiance.

Mejojo: (... I wish he was dead.)

(OR Mejojo wishes he, himself, was dead. He didn't specify a subject. But, considering how self-centered he is...)

    Curse.
    Hate.
    Resent.

However, Mejojo can't bring his feelings to the surface, for everyone to see. He's not worried about Father, Elvira, anything, or anyone though. To begin with, Mejojo just hates losing. He didn't love Elvira, and it was a mere marriage of convenience. Mejojo thought Elvira understood that. Is it because of her feelings for Arles Vogart that she can express herself? What a foolish woman, who doesn't understand the meaning of marriage between houses. It's different from mere commoners. There is no freedom. Since the beginning, there's been no freedom. Mejojo has no love for Elvira, however, she should love Mejojo. Because Elvira is his possession.

    ~Flash to the throne room~

Mejojo decided to cooperate with Elvira. It would be unbearable if it looked to the world that Arles Vogart stole Elvira away from him, so he personally asked the king to cancel the engagement. Mejojo was asked why. It was obvious. A person entering the royal family by marriage should not question their feelings, but devote themselves to the family. Mejojo explained that Elvira loved Arles Vogart. Elvira and Mejojo held no mutual special feelings, either. Still, Mejojo thought that he would be opposed. ....However.

King Garibaldi VI: Aye, I understand. Then, Elvira Galland. The marriage between you and my son is cancelled.

Elvira: .... Thank you so much. This will be good for Mejojo, too. For your sake, I wish you all the best.

    Mejojo: --.....

King Garibaldi VI: Your father may not be happy... but Arles is a good man. I'll try to convince him.

King Garibaldi VI: He's just that kind of guy.

    Mejojo: ......

The king did not oppose it. Elvira so easily slipped through Mejojo's fingers, and the king allowed it. Mejojo couldn't believe his eyes. The king must hate them. He must hate the two brothers that were born from the second wife. He must hate them for surpassing Julian. Therefore, Mejojo starts to think about revenge. Revenge against a father who didn't care about their mother, Elenora's, worries, and the one who deserted her. Because Mejojo was that kind of son--..... that his father keeps getting in his way.

Mejojo: (..... Anyhow, no one is by my side...)

From the bottom of his heart, the light of a dim candle flickers, and then goes out. But from the beginning, the light was useless.

That's right, from the beginning, the light was not needed. He can only hear the sound of a tightening rope. *Gichiri..... Gichiri....*

Mejojo: (For me, only Mother..... only Auger....)

After that, several months passed. Then came a report from a subordinate that there was something strange with Arles.

    Mejojo: (Disease, huh.)

A peculiar disease specific to Wolves. It seemed Arles was sick with it. A rare disease that was out of the hands of any great doctor in Weblin. A certain doctor reported, "This might be the start of an epidemic. It could be a black stain on our history." (?)

Mejojo: (Rather, I hope he dies from this soon.)

Just as Mejojo was thinking this, the subordinate that he ordered to watch Arles reported that Arles had succumbed to the peculiar disease and attacked Elvira. In the confusion, he turned into a mad man. (?)

    Aah. It's only natural.

okay things get really weird here. iIm not sure if it's my shit translations, it's supposed to be weird, or a combination.

The wound on Mejojo's forehead begins to ache.

Mejojo hears Arles growling (in his mind?). Arles attacked Elvira. Why? His memory is flying away. He doesn't want to admit it.

In the next moment... Mejojo draws his rapier. He points it toward Arles' throat.

    But--.....

The rapier went through. The point of the sword pierced through.

    Elvira.

    Elvira: So....rry.....

Mejojo: You.... got in my way.

Arles: ....What, you.... what are you talking about....

Mejojo: ....Shut up. It's all your fault!!

Mejojo drew his rapier intending to kill. His plan worked, but the only mistake was the target. Elvira is.... dead.

However, the memory was cruel and vague. Mejojo can only hear that sound of a tightening rope.

Mejojo: You will die as well, Arles...!!

Arles roars, and slashes at Mejojo. He cries out in pain.

The wolf's claws slashed between his eyes, leaving a deep laceration on his face. The world was dyed crimson red. Arles had turned into his wolf form, staring at him with eyes that burned with hatred. Mejojo was also filled with hatred, but just hatred. His body melted into muddled feelings that he couldn't understand. He screams. (And let me tell you, he sure does scream..... O_O)

Mejojo can only see a stained, crimson world. Arles growls at him once more, but smashes a windowpane and escapes the castle. It's a vague memory for Mejojo, but when he tries to recall it, his wound aches.

Aah. He hears the sound. The sound of a creaking rope. For some reason, even though he's grasping his rapier, he instead feels a rope tightening around his hand. Nausea welled up inside him, and he began to gag. Elvira is not anyone's now. Because she's dead. But, you could say, now she belongs to Mejojo for eternity. The wound on his face was proof of it.

    Mejojo: Ahahahahahahaha, hahahahahaha! Hahahahahahahahaha!!

Mejojo: I'll kill you dead!! If you want to take this Wolf's place, I'd be glad to oblige!

I'm not sure if Mejojo is actually saying something dumb like "I'll kill you dead". He's gone off the deep end though, so maybe he's not thinking clearly...

    *kick*

    Rath: Gukh....!!

Mejojo: Filthy wolf...!! How dare you...!! How dare you!!! I'll destroy you all, without fail!!

    Mejojo: ....What did you say?

[IMG] : What, you're not dead yet? Is that okay to say?

[IMG]: Such a mouth, I'll beat it off of you...!!

Mejojo strikes at him, and Rath, bloodied, lets out one last gasp before completely collapsing. Mejojo looks at him, groveling on the ground. The Wolf is vomiting blood. He should die already. Not steal anything, not obtain anything. He only has to die in vain.

[IMG] : Ahahaha! That was fun, it feels good to go crazy. Hey, let's play some more!

[IMG] : How about some music, Rabbit-kun? I'll play some happy music!

In stream chat, we (meaning the 3 or 4 of us) decided (I think) that if we were in Fiona's shoes, and if we really, really, really had to, we would prefer to deal with Auger's craziness than Mejojo's. We came to the conclusion that at least Auger doesn't try to deny his horribleness, so he's just the teeeeensiest bit less insufferable.

We only say this for this point in the game and the segment that comes after, by the way. Auger could turn out to be even worse than we thought!

    WHAT SAY YOU THREAD

Edit: oh wow i swear my vocab is more varied than "came to the conclusion"

Oh gawwwd. Um... I don't know. As far as I can tell, they're both equally insane. But Augur is perhaps the more intelligent of the two, and also seems to be more lucid than Mejojo. So yeah, I guess their madness manifests itself in different ways? But I bet Chamomile has a lot more interesting stuff to say about this than I do.

Anyway, if I were in Fiona's shoes, I think I'd also choose Augur over Mejojo... Simply because Augur seems to be more in control of himself. However, I would also be scared shitless of him. So there's that.

    Oh my god

DID HE WHIP OUT A VIOLIN

He's the worst so much that he's actually the best.

...I think the most surprising part of all this is that the sickness was just a thing that happened to Arles out of the blue and Mejojo didn't engineer it himself. Me, I'd take Jojo if I knew upfront what his deal was. He seems really easy to manipulate, in a way.
  11. CuteCat Already Beat BF's New Expansion

I thought Mejojo caused the disease, too. Well, I guess even he can't unleash a plague...
Surprised that Elvira survived that first wolf attack, even. He must've come to his senses before mauling her too bad.

But, good LORD. Yeah if I had to choose here, I'd pick Rath because SCREW YOU MEJOJO. HAH, SECOND WIFE ALSO STOLEN BY WOLVES!

But aside from that, Auger seems a BIT less crazy. He's sadistic as all hell but he's not... crazy. Just a troll.
That and he can play the violin. This isn't the best time to find that out, but...
... I wonder if we can create a rift between Mejojo and Auger. Saying "they can only trust each other" and then Auger steals away Mejojo's new wife-to-be... Ahaha... That thought is uplifting~
  12. maniskumquat Already Beat BF's New Expansion

That whole part with Arles catching the disease and Elvira dying was really confusing. I'm guessing the sequence of events was: Arles gets sick, Mejojo takes advantage of his weakness and heads over to kill him, Elvira protects Arles and dies, Mejojo covers it up by blaming it on Arles' madness. OR Arles went mad from the sickness and lashed out at Elvira (but not enough to kill her), Mejojo goes over to take advantage of his madness to kill him, Elvira protects Arles, Mejojo covers it up blaming Arles had gone mad.

And I think the translation Umazes gave in the chat was a bit different too, but.... I can't remember what it was D:

That said, I think the disease was specific to wolves when it first surfaced. It could just be that it mutated to affect everyone... OR DID IT?!

I have been summoned! :0 Sorta. Haha all I can say is that if you think Auger is less crazy than Mejojo or that it'd be better to be with him, you'd better finish the game/his route first. XD I actually wrote an essay about the twins and psychopathy that you can check out if you don't mind spoilers or whatever. Or you can save it for later~ Think of it this way: at least Mejojo has a reason for what he does. It might be a stupid reason, but he has his own moral compass that he sticks to. Auger, on the other hand...................... _(:3」∠)_

    A while back, I also translated an official short story about the twins and Julian playing chess with Fiona which you can read here. It takes place before where the thread is now, so it's nice and spoiler-free. In it, you can see that Auger is actually a whole lot smarter/more cunning than Mejojo. (Mejojo does beat Fiona, but it's a pretty normal match; Auger beats Fiona in like a single digit number of moves or something) I have a bunch of theories and thoughts about this, but ahaha as I've said, my analyses kind of require knowledge/understanding of the whole game and I'd rather not spoil you guys, so. ;;

JUST KEEP GOING, THE BEST (WORST?) HAS YET TO COME.
  14. maniskumquat Already Beat BF's New Expansion

Yea, having to choose either of them would be terrible no matter what. It could be just me, I've dealt with people who would not take responsibility for the shitty things they do so Mejojo really grinds my gears. And that whole yandere "property" thing, that's a huge button for me. My preference for Auger is miniscule, but really I would not want anything to do with either of them.

if i were in fiona's shoes, i would probably be thrown in their dungeon for constantly cussing them out, ahahaha orz
.... i wish, more likely i would be deathly afraid and just keep to myself. ergh, this is not nice to think about...

So, please still let me know how you want to see Mejojo's route, and also tell me whether I should speed through a stream or go through it normally.

I can't wait until we've gotten the full story of the cats, because I find them to be so interesting even if they are quite terrible. I agree that Auger comes off as a lot more intelligent than Mejojo. I think we decided that we preferred Auger's brand of crazy because his crazy seems very slightly less violent. I'm sure Auger will find a way to change our minds very soon.
I wonder though if Mejojo's behavior towards protag-chan is a bit better on his route. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

    *shudder*

Here's a little update for you all~ Me? Procrastinate from studies? Nooooo.

Two shadowy figures are lined up on a small hill, a little ways away from the city.

Arles: ... Is Rath over there?

    Guillan: Really? Is that so?

Like a scrap of garbage, they carelessly dragged a moaning knight behind them. The knight can only groan, no longer making any sense, but this seemed to be enough for Guillan.

    [IMG] : Do you know~?

    [IMG] : Hm...

Arles threw a fleeting glance at the knight. This was urgent.
Did the knight understand? Guillan, in his impatience, would only continue to torment him. (?)
Guillan had gradually torn his body from the ends, causing the knight to lose blood while suffering from severe pain.
Did the knight lose too much blood? Or, perhaps it was because of the pain. The knights limbs looked like minced meat, and his face was as white as paper.

Yea, torture can be a pretty inefficient method to get information. Yep. Yep.... *doesn't really know what to say because what the hell, Guillan*
And Arles, you might have a sad and sympathetic past, but you're not really winning any points. What with the killing, and eating. And enabling Guillan's torture fantasies.

[IMG] : Speak in detail. Besides the one that was caught, are there any others?

    [IMG] : Because!

Guillan mercilessly crushed the knight's hand underfoot... Crack, crunch. The knight cried out in pain, his hand covered in blood and stained red.
The knight was unrecognizable already, but he still seemed to complain about the pain. (?)
His hoarse scream resounded around them, but no one was there to help the knight.
The knight began to sob and whimper in his agony, begging for death.

Guillan: *giggle* Du~mmy, I won't kill you yet. Heeey, I still have questions.

Guillan: C'mon, answer alreadyyy. Who else have you caught?!

Guillan continued to dig his foot into the knight's hand, and the knight can only scream. Finally, he begs for him to stop, and the he'll tell them what he knows.

[IMG] : Look, you better talk fast. Is the place I've crushed already gone?

Guillan spoke with a pouty tone, while he continued to dig his foot into the knight's hand. The knight keeps asking him to stop, until he groans incomprehensibly due to the pain. He begins to sob like a child.

Arles orders Guillan to stop with a glance, and Guillan shrugs his shoulders.

[IMG] : This is a hassle. Quickly, speak. Time is precious.

[IMG] : Hey... Because you were so slow, Arles is ANGRY WITH ME!!

Guillan calls himself ore-sama, by the way. Ha. Ha. Ha. orz

Guillan kicks the knight near the pit of his stomach, and he rolls around on the ground in agony. If the knight still does not say anything, more violence was only waiting in the form of Guillan.

Knight: ... Most.... O... Of the wolves.... Were killed on the spot... *gasp*....

Knight: One guy that was still breathing..... carried him... took him...!! Took him to... the castle....!

    [IMG] : Well, then!

While bouncing on the end of his words... Guillan creeped along the ground toward the squirming knight, and swung downwards the foot of a club towards the knight's head.

There was a sound, like when a full fruit is thrown at a wall with great strength. The knight stopped moving.

Blech. I'm kinda glad that they're left these descriptions to text instead of CGs, I don't think I could stomach it if it was illustrated. I can barely stomach the game as is, hah.... orz

Arles: The castle... they merely caught him?

Guillan: Nooo way! It seems they've done a buuuunch of stuff to him already.

Woah, was that guy's head a water balloon? Eugh.
And... wait. So, they already got all the info they needed from the knight, but yet still continued to torture him? Yea, maybe he couldn't speak just now, not out of loyalty, but because of indescribable pain.

[IMG] : We'll turn those guys in the royal capital to PULP, eh? It's nothing to me!

    [IMG] : Then..... --Let's go!

At Arles' word, the darkness began to shake.
No. It was whatever was assimilated in that darkness. The wolves, who had been keeping to one spot, began to move.
Could they have amounted to several hundreds? (?)

[IMG] : We will return my family from those Cats. Like a storm of death... blow through and lay waste!

[IMG] : Rob them! Burn them to ashes! And then kill them all!

Arles: We are the proud wolves. Burn that royal capital in the hellfire of our anger!!

    Good lord, Guillan.
How did you even MANAGE to get that bloody? Did your doggy aspect kick in and you rolled around in his guts after the deed? (Which is an adorable, if terrible, mental image.)

I think they had figured out Rath was gone on their own, but the problem was they had no details whatsoever. He might've been one of many wolves captured, he might be dead and his corpse burned, they really didn't know anything other than "at least one wolf was captured and we have not found Rath's corpse". Thus, asking their hostage for details so they know how many to rescue etc. It's fully possible that up 'til then the knight just kept refusing or kept pleading for death instead of telling them anything (or they were just trying to incapacitate him by destroying his hands and feet, NOT torture him).

Guillan might have gone a liiittle bit overboard though. "Stop and I'll say" doesn't mean "keep going", li'l buddy.
Hahaha, "Because you were so slow, Arles is ANGRY WITH ME!!"... He really wants Arles to like him, doesn't he~

~Royal Weblin Castle, in the underground laboratory~
    ~In Zara's POV (thank god)~

    *continued sounds of beating*

It was like a nightmarish scene. Mejojo had lost his mind, and kept kicking the wounded young Wolf.

Nah, I'd say he lost his marbles a long time ago.

Moreover, Auger continued to play nonsense on his violin, matching the rhythm of the beatings.

Wait, wait, wait. This is still going? How long has it been?? Aren't you guys bored or something yet?! And there's still CG click with nothing to click, argh. Pixel hunting makes me go loco.

Laughter, groans, rough breath, and Zara's restrained voice mixed round and round the room, in a harsh cacophony of sound.

    Zara: (Like this... they're mad.)

    Run Zara run!
And, because of how the rest of this scene goes down, I'm assuming Zara has left the room at this point.

Originally, Zara had already started research into Zodeiba.
Even though they imprisoned Fiona at the top of the tower, she still had a non-zero chance of becoming infected with Zodeiba, due to her weak body.
Therefore, Zara had been researching Zodeiba at the tower for a long time. Coming from his Rabbit nature, he has always had a peculiar affinity for pharmacy and medicine.
For the sake of Fiona, he wanted to do everything he could.

    Awwww, Zara. You're a sweet bunnyman :3

When he was appointed to the castle at that time, the despotism of Mejojo and Auger upset his plans. However, Zara also thought that this might be a good chance.

That wasn't the only thing they upset.... *sob* orz

When Garibaldi VI ascended the throne, the Rabbits were shut out of the political sphere.

uhhhh I wouldn't call "mass murder" the same as "being kicked out of politics" but okay, this is your narrative Zara, whatevs.

Since Zara had been appointed to the castle, he was thinking that he could look up the Zodeiba research of the Royal Family.

    [IMG] : (... I was naive. Right.)

Only torture that was called "research" had been conducted in the castle. It was only used to torment the Wolves. Idle, useless inaction.

If this is all they've been doing, at this rate, they're never going to overcome Zodeiba.

[IMG] : (... As long as Mejojo or Auger are not down here, this would be the perfect time to examine a Wolf infected with Zodeiba.)

Yea, I suppose whippings would sort of impede the scientific process, huh.

Until now, Wolves were not considered to be infected with Zodeiba.
At least, as far as Zara knew, it was supposed to be like that.
Therefore, Wolves were considered to be the main cause of Zodeiba, and it was said that the Wolves spread Zodeiba artificially.

    Wait. ...What??
Hold on. Hoooold on, back up. Let's gather what we know so far:

    1) The Wolves came down with the sickness first, as shown with Arles, and it was specific to Wolves.
    2) Rath told us in his narration, waaaay in the beginning, that people started to blame the Wolves for the sickness. This was the cause for the Wolf genocide. And we hear it again here, from Zara.

So, if the sickness suddenly stopped affecting Wolves but started to infect everyone else, then I could see the general populace blaming the Wolves. But how did Zodeiba go from "only infecting Wolves" to "infecting everyone BUT Wolves?" Hm.

This is going to end with me flipping tables, I can feel it.

    However...

[IMG] : (This Wolf boy, he is obviously infected. Besides... most of the Wolves who have been captured here cannot take the form of a human anymore...)

Is it because of Zodeiba that they can't take human forms anymore? Rath would be an oddity, hm...

The Wolves are kept in such narrow cages that they can't even move. All they can do is repeat their feeble breaths. Originally, Wolves and Rabbits shared the same existence as a sub-species, but now they can't even understand each others language.

[IMG] : (Wolves are also infected with Zodeiba. ... When it comes down to it, what does that show?)

[IMG] : (Ten years ago... when Zodeiba first appeared...)
(It's too much of a coincidence with the passage of the Wolf Hunting decree.)

Mejojo and Auger hate Wolves? The Wolves are being killed? Nope, nothing to see here officer!

[IMG] : (Certainly, there must be something there. Some hidden truth.)

Aw, at least the guy's putting two and two together. Like I said, a good bunnyman :3c

Zara thinks about it. His purpose for being in the castle is to find some way to cure Zodeiba.
It's not for the matter of Auger and Mejojo's madness. It's to save the people of Weblin.

    [IMG] : (Oh...?)

Twitching, Zara shook his ears. (eeeeee) Rabbits ears can hear better than the other sub-human kinds.
Small footsteps came running toward here. Perhaps it's one of the CCK?

    [IMG] : (Something... was it?)

Although, they probably came to call on Mejojo and Auger...

    *sound of door opening*

[IMG] : It is grave, Mejojo-sama...!!

    Mejojo: ...What?

Auger: He's been waiting a long time to enjoy himself like this. To disturb him... you're pretty inelegant, Rat-kuuun.

[IMG] : P, Please, excuse me...!! However, we have a serious situation!!
Wolves...!! Wolves have come pouring into the Royal Capital...!!

    Mejojo: Wha-...!?

    Auger: Hehh?

Their tone says it all, right here. Mejojo is pretty shocked at the news, while Auger is just intrigued and amused. trollcat gonna troll

    [IMG] : Huh..?!

[IMG] : (Wolves... Wolves are pouring into the Royal Capital!?)

Zara continued to strain his ears.
From far off, he could hear the emergency alarm bell that rang violently.

[IMG] : (... Is it that serious...?)

The tough bodies of Wolves were feared for a reason.
They had bodies of Knights and warriors. Before, they were the ones acting as mercenaries in Weblin.
And now, these Wolves are invading the Royal Capital. At the very least, the fighting strength of the Wolves per person was beyond the guard's standard... (?)
Could there be extensive damage to the Royal Capital?
If that's the case.... you could say that. (?)

Mejojo: Hahahahahaha!!! So they've come to be killed voluntarily; did they finally go so mad?!! Let's go... annihilate them all!!

Auger: Yeah yeah!~ We'll do away with 'em all~

Mejojo and Auger seemed to be absolutely happy. They did not seem to care about the damage their own army would cause.
They were earnestly, genuinely pleased with the opportunity to kill Wolves.

[IMG] : (What is it... How can you hate a species this much...?)

The young Wolf man was limp and senseless. Mejojo and Auger had left immediately.

    [IMG] : Hm......

Zara made sure that he could no longer hear their footsteps, and when it was enough, he dropped his gaze to the young Wolf man who had fallen to the floor.

    [IMG] : .......

[IMG] : (...So much, what could be the reason to hate a species... so much?)

No matter what reason the Cats had, Zara, a Rabbit, had a greater one. (?)
Decades ago, in order to take the throne, Garibaldi VI wiped out a faction descended from his predecessor. To do that... Garibaldi VI used the Wolves as his pawns to hunt down the Rabbits.

Oh. Okay. I guess I was wrong, the Cats didn't completely wipe out the Rabbits, just Zara's house. Who were politically powerful at the time. Great.
    da gemu, etc.

[IMG] : (That was how--... I became a war orphan.)

At the thought, Zara becomes deeply emotional.

    Zara: ...... *deep breath*

    Rath: ....Kill, ...me....

    Hey Rath, you still have your knives.... you could have fought back, or something.... ;_;

When looking down, the young man looked miserably beaten up. In addition, his one eye stared straight into Zara. There was still strength behind his one eye.

[IMG] : Killing you is unthinkable.

    [IMG] : ....W,h....y.....

[IMG] : Well... What shall I do?

Zara sighed while he muttered to himself, turning around to treat the man.

Look at this bunnyman. This is the bunnyman we could be pursuing. BUT NO

I'd leave the room too if I were Zara. Not only having to witness torture, but being threatened with torture if you speak up against it...

I wonder if he really knows all rabbits were massacred? It doesn't... really seem like something you'd tell the surviving orphans, and since he lived in the tower he might be sheltered from that reality.
Either that or he's just unwilling to think about it; I know I'd be. "Every rabbit in this building was murdered for no reason ..." is not a good mindset when you're being forcibly held there.

*Edit* Oh Zara... You're doing God's work, helping that poor thing. Even if he's gonna hate you for keeping him alive.
And I think they mentioned that Rath's hands were tied down? Then, even with his knives, he can't fight back.
  30. maniskumquat Already Beat BF's New Expansion

Yea, I wouldn't be surprised if Zara doesn't have the full picture on what happened to the Rabbits. Sleeping on it, the king had to enlist the Wolves and Humans (or at least the Galland House) to kill off the Rabbits. Those nobles in Mejojo's flashback called it a war. So... I think the king really did kill off all the Rabbits.
Zara's life has revolved around Fiona, the tower, and researching Zodeiba, so finding out what really happened to the Rabbits it probably not the most pressing issue in his mind right now.

And yea, I was just poking fun at the sprite. He's chained by his neck, I believe.

    On a more recent note:
Auger looks so happy when he plays the violin... Crazily happy. Then again, he looks that way all the time. Where did he pull that thing from anyways?

BG2 is eating my mind, okay, I need something to comfort me from this VN.

Also, finals are finally over, and apparently I can't read calendars. So this LP is going full steam ahead! Hopefully.

Edit: Actually, could you guys tell me if this format of transcribing text and the picture sizes are all right? I've been reading the LP discussion thread in the Kawaii sub-forum, and I didn't realize that large screenshots could crash browsers. I know that I've been messing with the format since the thread started, sorry about the inconsistency.

I went from summaries to this because a) I felt that my summaries were pretty bad and detrimental to the story and b) The walls of text weren't very... pretty. The downside is that while I'm sort of sure the general meaning of the lines are right, I've had to take "artistic liberty", so again, these aren't 100% translations.

The pictures load fine on both my laptop and my horrible work computer (it gets really slow if there are too many images, but it's never had a problem with this thread), so I think what you're doing is okay!

And I like the transcribed text! I think it's easier for people that have never played the game to get a better idea of what characters are like this way, since they're reading exactly what the characters are saying (or as close as you can get) instead of a summary, which might cut characterization a bit for brevity.

Thanks for the input! Yea, what made me go with straight text was looking back at the first pages, and realizing that I did a horrible job with Zara's intro. Does anyone even know his character? The impression I have is that he has a bit of a stick up his butt and is an idealist, but that first intro.... man. It's so bad, it's tempting me to go back and redo the LP so that it's all just transcribed text. Ugh.

    ~Outside the Castle~
Actually I'm not sure where this takes place. The game doesn't load the location titles on start up, grrr.

Knight 1: The pack of Wolves are coming straight toward the castle! They're rioting through the streets, and it seems like they've divided into two groups to attack the castle!!

Mejojo: ...Where is the knight squadron!!

Knight 2: Because we thought the group would attack the city first, most of the knights are out there!

Auger: Attacking at different times, eh. Those lowly brutes are using their heads?

Knight 1: Also, Nesso Galland is leading the Greyflitter winged knight squadron to the city seperately, but since they are away from the capital they have been delayed!

I still can't settle on how to say "guraifritta" ahhhhh

[IMG] : Tch!.... Do not rely on forces that are not here!

Mejojo: Make a blockade for all entrances to the castle! Since the rest of the knights are in the city, close the gates and defend the castle!!

I'm not one for tactics, but I guess that makes sense...? We don't know how many knights are out in the city, though. Or even if the knights have been ordered to protect civilians above killing Wolves.
Considering the people in charge, I doubt it.

    Auger: Hurry now!

    Knights: Yessir!

The knights head off to their posts.

Mejojo: ... Tch. Those Wolves have good eyes in the dark, and their individual combat effectiveness outmatches our own.

Auger: We can overcome that difference in violence with our sheer numbers. For now, I'm just puzzled by the surprise attack. But we can counter them immediately.

[IMG] : Aah, that is right. ...Those Wolves really think they can do as they like?!!

Yea, the NERVE of those Wolves, responding to genocide with violence and trying to rescue their people! Pfuh!

As a note, I'm not advocating the Wolves actions. Sure, they're sympathetic, but not to the extent where I can forgive them for eating people. I'm still waiting for Arles to explain that, if ever.
Legate Hyalus, Rot, Darkluna and 3 others like this.
  36. CuteCat Already Beat BF's New Expansion

Well, wolves ARE carnivores... The bunnies are near-extinct, dogs and cats and rats are all sentient talking beings, so there's not this huge difference between humans and animalkind (they may even be considered below them since they can't transform). If the wolves are starved and killing people anyway, doesn't it make sense to eat what they kill?

And yeah, I enjoy the transcribing more than the summaries. Helps give everyone personality~ Pictures are fine too!
... I didn't know big images could cause problems. Oh dear...
  37. maniskumquat Already Beat BF's New Expansion

True, true. I just don't agree that the best course of action is to fight violence with more violence. What can I say, I'm a bleeding heart.
And about the humans, I wonder if they make up most of the peasantry, since like you said they don't have any special abilities compared to the Cats. So I'm a bit curious why Arles attacks peasants instead of forming some sort of resistance movement to kill off the twins. I don't really know what his end-game goal is. Or maybe he's just crazy, with the Zodeiba and all.
Legate Hyalus and Bec like this.
  38. CuteCat Already Beat BF's New Expansion

Well, the problem is that a full frontal assault tends to result in heavy casualties. The wolves wanted to be known and feared, and attacking the castle isn't the best way to go about that unless they want to go extinct for real.

Besides, by attacking the peasants they lure out knights bit by bit, gradually weakening the castle's defenses. Basically, guerilla tactics. They're just forced to attack the castle now to get Rath back.
  39. maniskumquat Already Beat BF's New Expansion

That makes sense. I guess I was thinking that, were I part of an extinct species, I wouldn't want to risk any confrontation. Even with peasants.

  40. CuteCat Already Beat BF's New Expansion

Yeah, me neither. That's the power of pride and revenge, I suppose.
After all the wolves are the strongest...
Being forced to hide and flee, even though they're supposed to be the most powerful... It's got to be painful. A wounded pride goes far, revenge even further. (I mean just look at what it made the cats do.)

That, and it's fully possible the cats are hunting them no matter what they do, so either they can make themselves heard or they can hide and be killed anyway. Anywho~
I enjoy reasoning about character motivations and mindsets, apparently~ Haha.
