I think that's what sadomasochism is :D
i had a dream about mejojo and auger
a lot of stuff happened that's hazy now, but i do remember that mejojo called me up on my cell after i escaped from the hospital he was keeping me in, saying i would die from stroke if i didn't go back
and then he started this "stroke-inducing drug" spiel like some sort of commercial
his voice in english was pretty hot GET OUT OF MY HEAAAAD
Hahaha WOW. What's this game rated again?
At first I thought Mejojo was the normal one. Then I thought it was Auger. Now I'm fairly positive that they're equally fucked up; it just manifests differently. Very differently. Auger please don't go all Cersei Lannister on us all of a sudden.
It's rated 15+. For whatever that's worth XD They're both pretty messed up, but we haven't really gotten into Auger's head as much as Mejojo. But I guess being on his route will change that!! orz
The group of four had somehow escaped the castle safely, and now they were walking in the forest.
It was really happening. Although, Fiona wanted to have a rest after they left the underground waterways...
They didn't know when Auger would return with more pursuers, and so the group had no time to relax.
(I was thinking Julian should have a little rest, though...)
Fiona passed a fleeting, sidelong glance at Julian to see how he was. He just kept on walking in nothing but silence.
He said no more. Although he wore a melancholic expression, his face was not like a broken doll like before.
Seriously.... it was the face that Fiona was familiar with.
It wasn't just Fiona that was worried about Julian.
Nesso and Zara looked towards Julian from time to time, as well.
You couldn't really say that it was easy to walk in the forest, but Fiona kept at it in earnest. (?)
(Come to think of it... Where are we heading?)
What's up, Fiona?
When Fiona called to him, he immediately dropped his pace from the head of the group to come next to her.
And on the other hand, Zara, who had been walking next to her, walked up a brisk pace to be in the front.
(... They can read each others minds)
Even without words, there was a firm mutual understanding between the two of them.
Fiona thought that Nesso and Zara made a good combination, when seen like this.
Well, errr.... Where are we heading now?
Fiona had no idea at all.
She didn't even know where she was at the moment, let alone the destination. At the very least, she understood they were outside the castle grounds.
Were they still in the capital? Or were they already outside the capital? Fiona did not even know that.
That's right... we still haven't decided on a particular destination. The only thing on our minds was just to get away from the castle.
It seemed Fiona was not mistaken of their progression as they headed deeper into the forest. (?)
Maybe if we go deeper into the forest, we'll lose our pursuers?
Aah. If we head into the forest, there will also be more hiding places.
After all, we have to move away from the capital first, in order to escape the country.
Weblin was a country in the northern area, and the capital was almost right in the middle of it. (?)
Aah, but, what about Father? How is Pearl and Richie?
Fiona thought very much about it, and she didn't want to escape this country just yet because they only had a rough plan. (?)
She wanted the whole family to start afresh, because now, they were all in the same boat.
It's okay. Father has already evacuated with Pearl and Richie.
So.... they are no longer in Shallmessen?
...Aah. Because of the situation in Shallmessen now, it's not safe for anyone of the Galland house to stay there.
(The people in the territory believed I was a witch. So, was it because the uproar became overwhelming...?)
That must have been what caused Nesso and Father to reach the decision to abandon the earldom. (?)
Surely, that must have been awful?
... It's fine. I sent Elza with Father and the others.
Elza Clifford. Haven't I told you about him? He's my vice-captain in the Greyflitter winged knight squadron.
(I might have... heard something like that)
Fiona recalled something about Nesso saying that work was easy because of his excellent vice-captain sticking with him.
Since Elza is guarding Father, Pearl, and Richie, it'll be fine.
Buh. BUH. nesso you're not allowed to be this adorable
do that creepy laugh again so i can hate you
Nesso: Father has arranged to rendezvous with us outside of Weblin, so you have nothing to be concerned about...
As usual, Nesso patted Fiona's head to reassure her. But then, he stopped.
What's the matter?
Fiona seems to have a fever. Could you check?
I GOT A BAD FEELING....
Zara walked from the head of the group toward Fiona, taking Nesso's place.
(... A fever? Me...?)
Now that he mentioned it, her whole body indeed felt a little feverish...
Is it because we walked so far? Since we came from the castle, we must have walked quite a distance.
I'll examine you for just a moment. My lady, can you sit here, please?
Fiona sat down where Zara pointed, on a thick tree trunk that must have fallen over from a storm.
Zara held a hand to her forehead with a grim expression....
Fiona: ... Is it possible that my body temperature just went up from walking?
Zara: ...It looks to me that you have a fever.
Nesso, could you search for a place around here to rest for tonight? We shouldn't keep moving into the night...
It's alright. I can still walk.
...No. First of all, if you overworked yourself until you were unable to move, wouldn't it be the same thing?
Rest your body while you can, to prepare for later. ...Okay?
The way Nesso talked to her reminded her of talking to a child, and so she could do nothing but nod hesitantly.
Julian, let's go look for a place to camp around here.
What, you don't want to?
No, that's not what I meant...! But, I....
Nesso stepped closer to Julian.
That's good. After all, it's just looking around. C'mon, let's go.
nesso stop being so cool ARGGGGH orz
Nesso gave Julian his support, and after he hesitated, they both went off to search the area.
...Julian, will you be alright?
...I think it'll be fine.
As long as neither Mejojo nor Auger are around, he seems to be able to be normal....
--...Besides, if he becomes dangerous again, he wouldn't be able to challenge Nesso in that condition.
...Right. Thank you, Zara.
Fiona was worried about Julian in two kinds of ways. Zara was able to see that.
She truly worried about Julian. If Julian broke again, she was worried that Nesso might do something to him.
Apart from that, how is your health?
...Personally, I do feel a little feverish.
...It's not exactly a low fever.
Fiona made a mental note to try to pay more attention to her body.
Suddenly, she felt dizzy and faint.
M- My lady!
As she staggered, Zara tightly embraced Fiona and she rested her head on his shoulder.
Oh, this is an excellent turn of events. *w* Apart from the sickness anyway, but eh sacrifices have to be made... XD
Why...? Suddenly, somehow, I feel....
Her whole body felt as heavy as lead.
She just felt a little feverish, but she was still able to walk normally.
Zara: ...Are you relaxed now? You must have overworked yourself.
...Is that so?
Zara: Yes, that's right. ...I should have noticed earlier.
aww, don't be sad, bunnyman. that makes me sad T_T
No.... that is, I should have spoken up.
Fiona wasn't even able to realize her abnormal condition. Her stupidity must have had no bounds.
Zara: No, it's my responsibility. The management of your health is my job.
Besides... you were injured. I should have considered the possibility of a fever arising..
While listening to Zara's regretful words, the world around her started to shake and slowly sway.
(...This is miserable. After all, I have become a burden)
Although they'll die if they stay in this country, Fiona knew she was the original reason for their escape. (?)
And now that they were trying to run away, she was still holding back Nesso and Zara.
(...Again, it's my fault)
Fiona felt a hot lump rise in her throat. She felt miserable. When she sobbed, Zara patted Fiona on the head to calm her down, using his arm that held her in his shoulder.
(... What a nice feeling)
The cool, pleasant touch of Zara's hand on her forehead lowered her body temperature.
Zara: It's all right. Please, take a rest for a little while. If there is something, I'll wake you.
Fiona gave a small nod.
She gave in to her rapid sleepiness, and slowly shut her eyes.
...I really hope it's not Zodeiba. Can Fiona even get that given that she's a walking vaccine?
Anyway, I am glad that Nesso has other friends now and isn't trying to mack on his sister. So far. I hope he hooks up with whichever adorable animal dude Fiona doesn't and they all live happily ever after and why did I vote for Auger why
Zara is so precious precious baby
I figured he'd be kinda boring and to be fair he kind of is but boring is kind of refreshing given that literally everyone else is various flavors of absolutely fucking batshit. Does he have some sort of yandere bad end because I don't think I could take that.
... you know, that just made me realize that there are no women with sprites in this game. AT ALL. So far. I mean, Elenora and Rayleigh were pretty important, you would think they would have a sprite, but nope. That's pretty sad orz
All the important women characters besides Fiona are also dead. I guess it comes with the otome territory...
But yes, my tolerance for Nesso has 100% improved because he hasn't been proclaiming their marriage like in the beginning.
And Zara might be boring but he's like the group mom, I find that adorable
Zara: My lady... can you wake up?
Fiona felt her body being lightly shaken. Her consciousness surfaced, led by the calling voice, and she gently opened her eyes.
She intended to shut her eyes for a little while to rest, but it seems she had fallen asleep completely.
Fiona noticed that she was sleeping in a bed, in a room that seemed to be in a cabin.
She did not even wake after being carried this far. Was she really okay?
Yes, it is me. Please, get up a little. Drink some water....
Zara raised his hands to support Fiona's back, and brought a container near her mouth.
As the cold water touched her lips, she was reminded that her throat had been insanely dry until now.
...*gulp* ...*gulp* ....*gulp*
Her gulping could be heard as she drank the water like crazy. Some water spilled out of her mouth, but she didn't care about such things now.
Zara: ... Would you like to drink more?
Fiona: Water... is there?
Zara: Nesso found a river nearby, so it's all right, there's no need to worry about the amount of water.
Fiona: Then... can I have another cup?
Zara: Yes, of course.
Please, as much as possible, try to drink slowly. Earlier, you were drinking it all in one gulp.
As Zara instructed, Fiona slowly drank the water from the cup.
....Mm. Thank you, Zara. I feel... comfortable now.
Your fever has gone down. To that extent, you need to make sure you stay hydrated.
I'll keep that in mind.
Could you also drink this medicine?
...I'll drink it. If I don't... my fever will not be brought down.
Oh, is this unusual reasonableness a good thing?
It wasn't so long ago that asking you to take medicine would be impossible, and you would throw a tantrum.
I-Indeed, I hate bitter medicine, but this is no time to act spoiled.
*chuckle* That's right. Then, please drink this.
Zara presented a liquid that had a forest green color from the brewed herbs. Fiona could already tell from the scent that it was bitter.
Hold your nose and wash down the taste with water. It's what I do~
Honestly, she was hesitant to taste it.
(But, if I don't drink it)
Even though they kept walking for a little while after they left the underground waterways, they were still relatively near the royal castle. Fiona could not afford to take her time.
It was possible that Mejojo and Auger had already sent people to pursue them.
She prepared herself, and drank it all in one gulp.
....Bleh. It tastes terrible, as usual...!
Good medicine tastes bitter!
lol, that's what my mom says.
....holy sheet, zara IS the group mom! O_O
...I guess so. Uwaa, my mouth can still taste it. Zara, can I have another glass of water?
Yes, by all means.
Fiona drank up the water with loud gulping sounds again.
Please drink the water slowly. Didn't I just say that?
But... it's because my mouth tastes bitter.
Fiona gave back the empty glass, and Zara gave a small, shocked laugh.
After that, he turned around to Nesso and Julian, who were watching them.
Zara: Aah, Nesso, Julian. Would you also like to drink the medicine, just in case?
Nesso: ...Whu? Me too?
Julian: I don't really....
Didn't I say, just in case? Lady Fiona just now drank medicine that suppresses the onset of Zodeiba.
Zodeiba. Also called the Wolf's curse. It was the worst fatal disease.
It was said an infected person will die in less than one week.
(However... I've never heard of a medicine that can suppress the onset of Zodeiba, until now)
(Besides, that I was made to drink it...)
Zara. Is Fiona... infected with Zodeiba?
...Not yet. Honestly, I don't know. This fever could be an early symptom of Zodeiba, but I'm not clear whether it's caused from the injury.
If it was Zodeiba... there should be black bruises appearing on her body, somewhere...
Were there bruises on Fiona's body?
I didn't find anything in my light examination just now. However, it may be a question of time until it appears.
Therefore, I want you all to take the medicine right now.
If Lady Fiona has been infected with Zodeiba.... it is very likely that we will be infected as well.
... So, this is just to make sure?
But... Fiona should have been in the castle. Where on earth in the castle.... Tch. I don't even need to ask....
Nesso looked toward Fiona's bandaged shoulder.
Right. It was said that Wolves spread Zodeiba, and Fiona had been bitten by one.
If Wolves really do carry Zodeiba, then it would not be strange to get infected from the bite.
Arles: ...Don't move. I will not hurt you more than necessary.
Fiona: (More than necessary...?)
Moreover, Fiona was a Robeira, weak to sickness even at the best of times.
Damn...! I knew sending her to the castle was a bad idea...!
Nesso muttered obscenites. He clenched his hands into fists, so strongly that you could hear it.
Just looking at his heart-breaking face, Fiona understood that Nesso regretted that he could not protect her.
(... But that's not because of Nesso)
Fiona held out her arm and gently grasped Nesso's hand.
And... this medicine? Is it true that it will suppress the onset of Zodeiba?
Yes. I've been researching Zodeiba at the Galland estate for a long time.
...Since you're a Robeira, it was not a low possibility that you would never become infected with Zodeiba in the future.
But... I thought you were still in the middle of studying medicine for Zodeiba?
Yeah. When I last spoke to you about it, Nesso, I was certainly still in the middle of research.
Then... in the castle?
...Yeah. I mean, originally, when the outbreak first happened, the castle developed an imperfect medicine to hold it back.
...What do you mean? I've never heard of such a thing.
If there is such a medicine, it's strange that it was never made public.
...... No way.
As Fiona saw the two men fall silent, a scary thought came to mind.
And when Julian and Zara looked at her in the eyes, it affirmed her suspicions.
Fiona: It can't be. Mejojo and Auger didn't publicize it on purpose...?
Wha..!? What kind of thing is that? Please, explain in detail.
Hehe. I kind of like how Fiona catches on quicker than Nesso. It's... kinda cute.... orz
It is as Lady Fiona has said. As soon as I was taken to the basement laboratory of the castle, I was instructed to drink the same thing.
To avoid infection of Zodeiba from Wolves...?
...Yeah. I thought it was strange, to being with.
If they say that Wolves spread Zodeiba, then why would Mejojo and Auger confine such dangerous beings underground instead of killing them?
Well, Nesso is really growing on me, he may be a siscon but at least he's not batshit crazy as half of the cast here :°
Fiona certainly agreed with that. It was as Zara said.
Fiona did not notice through their deception, but those two princes had a strange abhorrence for Wolves.
Why would they bring Wolves into the castle, when they had a fatal disease with no way to treat it? (??)
Mejojo and Auger did not seem to be pretending that they did not see the dangers of infection for themselves.
(Now I understand. They can't be infected)
I had been ordered to complete the medicine that suppressed Zodeiba... to make a specific drug to cure Zodeiba.
...And you're making us drink that medicine here....
...Yeah. The wonder drug is still incomplete, though.
...I see. How far do you think this medicine can work?
Mejojo and Auger went near the Wolves with confidence... you could expect it to be effective as preventative medicine.
...What if you're already sick?
...That record was lost. Perhaps, when Mejojo and Auger disposed of all the doctors.
...The ones same as me. Rabbits.
.... This fever, I hope it's not Zodeiba.
How are you feeling?
I feel much better than earlier. It seems resting for a while was a good thing.
Is that so. As far as you are concerned... you had an extremely busy night.
...Yeah. But, not only me. Also for everybody.
Wolves invaded the castle. Fiona was bitten by a Wolf. And they were all saved by her elder brother, who sneaked them out of the castle in order to escape.
(...It was certainly hectic)
But... why did His Highness not announce the Zodeiba suppression medicine?
Even if the treatment of the sickness is difficult, it's possible to head off the infection. Wouldn't that make the people feel at ease?
I think they didn't.... want people to feel relieved.
What he says is not wrong, Nesso. They want the people... to fear the danger of Zodeiba.
Why? This fatal disease has plagued this country, right?
Why would the prince leave such a thing alone?
...The Wolves. Mejojo, and Auger too, they both want to destroy the Wolves.
...Are you lying? Oi....
Just for that... they chose not to announce the preventative medicine in order to destroy the Wolves?
Like that, that's crazy.
Yes, they are mad. I saw the terrible plight of those underground. Their hatred against Wolves is abnormal.
Mejojo.... I don't think it's just about killing Wolves for him. Surely, it's...
The blood of the Garibaldi house is cursed. It's probably because of us...
not you, julian! It's gonna be okay!! T____T
Fiona was unintentionally at a loss for words at that detail. (??)
In this country, it was assumed that the most frightening thing was the fatal disease, Zodeiba.
Mejojo and Auger, who were the princes of the country, had a near-completed medicine to prevent that disease, and they hid its existence.
It may have been to turn the Weblin's people's hatred and fear of Zodeiba onto the Wolves.
(Such a thing... it's so strange)
It was strange, no matter how you thought about it. Those two people... Mejojo and Auger. They had gone wrong somewhere.
Attacking the Wolves would not drive out Zodeiba.
But rather, they used Zodeiba to kill the Wolves.
What a state of affairs.... Ha. Haha, while trying to get out of the country, we've learned such an unexpected story.
... That's not all.
There's still more?
Earlier, I said the Zodeiba wonder drug was not completed yet...
Have you completed it?
No, it's not yet complete.
...Yet, you have a rough idea of what to do?
That's amazing! So you're close to curing Zodeiba?
I don't have positive proof yet. But.... I have a lead on one hypothesis.
What hypothesis? Please, tell us.
After looking over everyone, Zara slowly opened his mouth.
We..... So far, we thought that Wolves were not affected by Zodeiba.
Aah, that's right. While the other species died from Zodeiba, the Wolves were not.
That's not so.
Then... Wolves are also affected by Zodeiba?
Yeah. I witnessed many sick Wolves underneath the castle.
Most of them were thin as skin and bones, had lost their eyesight, and could not take human form anymore.
Well... are you sure it's Zodeiba? ... Those seem to be different symptoms than what we know.
Yeah. They were infected, even if their medical condition had deteriorated to such a ridiculous state that they could die....
If they can't take a human form, then they won't die easily.
Wolves... have strong bodies.
(That reminds me...)
Although there were many sub-species that lived in Weblin, it was written that Wolves had particularly excellent physical performance.
Therefore, we were mistaken. Wolves do not infect others with Zodeiba. To be precise, they are infected with Zodeiba as well.
Is there any evidence? If the symptoms are different, then you can't prove that they are also suffering from the same Zodeiba.
The young Wolf man who was brought in yesterday, although he was weakened by Zodeiba, he kept his human shape. On his arm... there was a black bruise, the kind peculiar to Zodeiba.
Then... Zodeiba is not caused by the Wolves...?
The general concept was like a building in her mind crashing down. She had grown up for a long time in the tower, and she only knew about the world through knowledge and her studies.
Zara actually believed that, so for Nesso and Zara, who have actually lived in the world, it must have been quite a shock. (?)
(Julian.... did you know?)
Earlier, he seemed to know about Mejojo and Auger's almost-completed medicine.
Well, we can't completely deny the rumors.
What do you mean?
Unlike us, they do not die immediately when infected with Zodeiba. They suffer for a long time.
In other words... they carry the disease for a long time.
So, it's not necessarily a lie that they spread Zodeiba.
Thus, the tragedy of Wolves attacking villages could further generate Zodeiba.
So that's what happened...
Then... Mejojo and Auger applied false charges against the Wolves for Zodeiba?
And so they attack villages out of revenge?
(If that's true... I think I understand why that man at the time had such sad eyes)
Perhaps--..... perhaps not.
No? Aren't the Wolves attacking in opposition to the crimes pinned on them?
It's different. Although I noticed Wolves were also infected with Zodeiba...
When they are infected, and when they gradually lose their ability to turn into human form, they become feverish and lose all reason.
In other words? They attack people because they become brutes? I can hardly believe that.
...I never meant to tell this story in front of you.
Nesso furrowed his brows. He looked troubled... but after that, he continued.
As a knight, I've visited many villages that have been attacked by Wolves.
In some of them, we sometimes came across the pack of Wolves still retreating.
Brutes wouldn't be able to withdraw in a pack like that.
They are obviously being commanded. They attack villages with a purpose. I just don't think they're running wild.
Surely, it must be that man I helped. Their leader came to help the Wolf boy who had lost all his senses. Right.
So. In other words, they have enough sense to listen to their leader's instructions?
Their leader should teach them how to hunt normally, not to aim for the people of Weblin in their villages.
That's the point.
Wait. Do you mean... there's another reason to attack villages?
Reasons other than revenge?
That's right. I studied the blood of infected Wolves, and now I understand what happened.
What did you find?
Their blood has mutated. It's insufficient in iron and minerals.
Aaaahh.... please explain so that we can understand. What are they missing?
They develop allotriophagy when infected with the illness.
Allotriophagy means that they develop a kind of sickness due to a lack of necessary nutrients in the body.
And even if you supplement the insufficiency, the brain still demands it... and so their appetite turns toward odd things.
Soil and stone, chalk and glass. Normally, a person would not try to eat these things, but they develop an appetite for it.
And that desire cannot be stopped by reason.
i dont think anemia works that way
So... they attack villages? They attack Weblin's people....?
To compensate their insufficiency...? So the result of the sickness is that they lose control of themselves and follow their instincts to attack?
...Yeah. Perhaps that is the reason for the Wolves' aggressiveness.
So.... if you can compensate that insufficiency, the Wolves will stop attacking people?
Not only that. I don't have positive proof, yet....
They may be instinctively trying to cure Zodeiba.
...In order to cure it, they attack villages?
That is a possibility. Please try to keep that in mind.
Weren't there several eye-witness reports of a man accompanying the Wolves?
There was. We heard several reports of a human figure, but I always thought that was the Wolf leader....
It's no mistake. But, there must be reason how he can maintain a human shape.
They... there is a possibility that he has already overcome Zodeiba.
What...! Then, why do the other Wolves still suffer from sickness?
If you say that the Wolves have already overcome Zodeiba... isn't it strange that not all their members have similarly recovered?
They would run the risk of breaking into the castle just to rescue a friend.
They didn't abandon their companion.
Why don't they try to cure Zodeiba for all of themselves?
Suddenly, Fiona noticed that Zara was looking at her. There was meaning behind that stare.
They... instinctively attack people to heal their sickness?
They have attacked many villages, and surely eaten a lot of people. But they have only cured a few.
...Well? Do you know anything, Fiona?
Arles: ...You, too. You are also a Robeira.
Fiona recalled the words of that silver Wolf. He was talking as if he had tasted the blood of a Robeira before.
And he--...... was not affected by Zodeiba.
Nesso, it's me! A Robeira...! Wolves can be cured by the blood of a Robeira!
That can't be...!
Oi, Zara. Is this the truth?
.... This confirms my hypothesis.
If Wolves are searching for Robeiras, then that explains it. They attack villages in order to fufill their desire for Robeiras.
Only those that have been able to find Robeira's have been able to take their blood and recover.
Robeira's have alwasy been rare. They were unusual cases of human women.
There is a low incidence in the first place, since Robeira's were sickly, and would die before they became adults.
They were not easy to find.
So... That Wolf bit you in the castle in order to cure his Zodeiba?
...I was a little suspicious. He was very rational.
So that means, rather than trying to harass Mejojo.... he was just confirming the taste of a Robeira.
Then... can Wolves really be cured by the blood of a Robeira....?
Although it is uncertain... it is a possibility.
So, if other species drank Fiona's blood, what would happen? Would that cure Zodeiba?
That possibility is low. The other species do not have the same desires that the Wolves exhibit... they do not have symptoms of allotriophagy.
Then, infected Wolves can be remedied, but it's impossible for others?
No. I should be able to produce an antibody using the blood of a Wolf that has overcome Zodeiba.
And if I had that... I could make a specific medicine for Zodeiba.
Ha..... really. This is unexpected.
In trying to run and throw away this country, they had found a way to save it.
The four of them looked at each other.
Up till now, Julian stayed in shy silence. But as to be expected, no one could ignore the posibility to save this country.
I wonder, how likely could this work?
....It's worth a try. The chances of success are high.
...*sigh* However, we would need the cooperation of the Wolves to test it.
(.... Won't that be difficult?)
Weblin's people and the Wolves had been mutually killing each other for ten years.
Really, could they join their hands now? (??)
(... What to do?)
1. Think of Mejojo
**2. Think of Auger**
3. Talk to Nesso
4. Talk to Zara
5. Talk to Julian
(Auger --> 60)
Fiona thought of Auger.
As Mejojo said, the prince Cats were committed to driving out the Wolves from the country.
(Why? Why does he do whatever Mejojo tells him to?)
He should be able to notice that what Mejojo was doing was strange.
Nevertheless, he doesn't try to stop Mejojo. He followed Mejojo's orders with obedience.
(And, he enjoys it)
For some reason, Auger never went against Mejojo. (?)
Clearly, it's because Auger found it fun.
(Then.... possibly, if I could persuade Auger, then we may be able to save Weblin)
aw DAMMIT i KNEW this would happen!!
this is the worst idea of all worst ideas!!!!
DONT EFFIN GO BACK TO THE CASTLE unless you have like, a friggin army at your back
and if by persuade you mean dangling him over the ramparts
Auger could stop Mejojo.
I.... before we leave and give up on this country, I want to go talk with the Wolves.
I know, it'll be difficult. And I know we should be leaving now. But....
(I will not desert the people of this country)
The long-awaited solution to Zodeiba was in their hands. If Fiona were to leave now, she would surely regret it.
Who's cabin IS this, anyway? Shouldn't you all be worrying about some crazed mountain lumberjack goatman chasing you all out??
I... I object. It's too dangerous.
Wolves are dangerous, of course. Even though we understand their circumstances now.... It's still a fact that they attack villages.
Going to meet such Wolves is too dangerous.
(...Nesso is quite right)
Even though, for Fiona, she doesn't think it'll be so dangerous, since she has already met the silver Wolf.
She was certainly bitten, though it wasn't for the purpose of giving her pain.
(If anything... I felt like it was a message to Mejojo)
When Mejojo saw her bitten shoulder, it was like he couldn't help but become deranged. (?)
However, Nesso and Zara still did not know about that situation. Are Wolves still called dangerous because they are stronger compared to everyone else? (??)
After all, unlike Fiona, the both of them had lived in the outside. Up to now, they had been fighting, and saw the damage that the Wolves caused.
It must be difficult for them to simply trust the Wolves.
(And yet..... and yet. I still want to talk to them)
With that silver Wolf. With the man with such sad eyes.
Until now, they had only heard the story on their own side. Fiona wanted to know the story of the country through the Wolves' eyes.
Nesso and Fiona stared at each other.
They conveyed their thoughts through their eyes, with no words. (?)
Fiona stared straight into Nesso with no intention of backing down.
.... Nesso. I agree with Lady Fiona.
Zara opened his mouth in support of Fiona.
This was unexpected.
Zara used to be as overprotective as Nesso, but he chose to meet the Wolves as well.
Is there some reason that you have to do this?
...Yeah. Since I've come this far, I'll say it. The young lady might have become infected.
But you just said that wasn't the case!?
It was so you all wouldn't worry. I didn't have conclusive proof, so I couldn't say it with certainty. But when it comes to this, I had to say something.
If Lady Fiona has become infected, then we need to get in contact with the Wolves.
If we leave the country, what will you do if Lady Fiona does fall ill?
But... what about that medicine you made?
The medicine just prevents it. It's not a cure.
Besides, the implications of making a cure are rather strong.
Suppose right when we left the country, and she developed full-scale symptoms...
We must find a means to help Lady Fiona. Or else, we might lose her.
Nesso groaned regrettably, and deep wrinkles set into his forehead. He was deep in thought, but didn't say anything more.
Eventually, he uttered a sigh, and the group looked at each other--....
Reluctantly, he was convinced to go search for the Wolves.
And, Nesso convinced them to also plan for an escape, just in case.
He's got some of the crazy, I mean there was that part where he was all "bwahahaha fiona is MINE!!!!!"
I'm going to just stay over here with Guillan and pretend I am not watching everything go downhill. Yep.
Yeah I'll sit here right with you.
So, Fiona's gotten herself infected...
Her heart's in the right place, at least. It's funny how she thinks "I should go see Auger" and then says she wants to go meet the wolves. Railroading to the max!
Darn! I'm nine pages too late to vote...I would have voted for Nesso, obviously :3 Nesso's a nice bro, so protective of her, but not Cage!protective<3
I am a massive bro-con, after all. Takashi, Wabisuke, Kyle, nyahaha. Although I didn't like Toma. Never Toma.
So we are going after Auger? Can't wait to see the utter craziness that his route will soon give way to. His name is pronounced as "OJ", as in "OJ Simpson", and I totally think Auger was named after him, given his story.
Gillian~ What I read about him made me like him. Plus, as someone said, he reminds me of Axel with his chakrams.
The sheer amount of nuttiness in the game just makes me want to sing~"Everybody in this game is craayyzaaayy, hey, hey!"
Oh, anyone play Cafe Rouge? Just played it today (yes, vampire horror is the normal programming for Christmastim). It was pretty good for freeware.
I still have to play the last chapter, but I think I lost my save codes. I think I was going for the teacher...? Mostly because vampires were never really my thing. They are good games, but I suck at the cooking mini-games....
and oh wow if auger does turn out to be oj
LOL THE IRONY
How do I get your dreams? Seriously. They're way more interesting than mine, which consist of taking exams. EXAMS. If I have no life, I'd rather have some interesting fantasies than...that.
I am of this view as well. What is the point? It's clear that Auger's true desire is to be his brother's personal do-M slave and they were clearly doing fine until Fiona messed that up. No wonder he hates her. I'm not sympathizing, just empathizing.
This is why you can never be truly happy with any of the cat twins. Because they're hot for each other. And yet Mejojo x Fiona seems to be one of the OTPs. Maybe it's like Hana Awase, where the OTP is ProtagxEndless Emo Pit of Despair and Angst?
maniskumquat: thanks for posting the vid of insane!Julian. I honestly broke down with him right there and then. You should have seen me, cowering in my chair and actually screaming in fear: "AAAHHH!!! Make it stop, MAKE IT STOP!!!"
You knew I just had to click the posted video, didn't you? ;_;
Leonidas: Sir Mejojo, Sir Auger. The preparations are complete. Kindly make your way to the throne room, please.
Auger: That's that, Brother. It seems everything is set.
Mejojo: ...I see.
Mejojo slowly rose from his seat when they heard the voice of the CCK outside the door.
It had been several days since Nesso broke Fiona out of the castle.
They had sent a party of pursuers after them, but there was still no report of their capture.
(After this, we're going to have to move out all the soldiers in full-scale. Well, it can't be helped)
Since they said that Garibaldi VI died due to the Wolf attack, everything around them had been very busy.
True, they wanted to move their soldiers at once after Fiona, but...
First of all, there was the matter of the coronation.
Finally.... the time for Mejojo to be king of the country had come.
Finally.... finally, Brother, right?
aw snap they drew in his scar, AW SNAP
...Aah. Finally, the time has come.
At last, this country has become mine. Once I obtain the throne... there will be nothing to threaten us anymore.
No more... no one can oppose us.
Aah, that's right. If anyone interferes with Brother, I'll bury them all.
I am Brother's ally. The only one in this castle... I am Brother's ally.
Ahh, that is right. In this castle, we are our only brothers. We have no allies but each other.
When Mother suffered from unjust treatment, no one came to help us in out grief.
You helped me, and I helped you. And now... no one will interfere with us anymore.
Now, Brother. Let's go and take this country. We'll deprive that foolish man of his throne!
Auger urged on Mejojo with a smile.
Now that everything was ready, the CKL came to call on them.
Will the audience for the coronation be all those powerful nobles?
(To swear fidelity to Brother, they'll have to kneel before him. In order to congratulate the ascendance of a new king.)
The powerful people of Weblin have surely gathered.
There will also be the people mixed in there who did not accept them before.
Even those who did not help them before will be gathered there as well.
*ear twitching* (Aah, what euphoria)
Have you ever felt guilt mixed with disgust? Yea, yea that's auger distilled
Now they could make those people kneel before them, and make them obey.
It will be completely different from when they were princes.
Mejojo will be the king of Weblin.
Everything in the country will belong to Mejojo, and Mejojo will become the country.
...Here we go, Auger.
Mm! Let's go, Brother.
With flutter of his mantle, and already regal bearing, Mejojo began to walk to the doorway where the CCK were waiting.
Auger walked behind him, unable to hide the obvious joy in his voice.
~Weblin royal castle~
As Auger had imagined, the audience of many nobles had already gathered before their king. They were powerful nobles from around the country.
They looked toward Mejojo, walking in front of Auger.
The sounds of their murmurs was pleasant.
(Now, watch. Only Brother, walking before me, will become the king of Weblin.
Auger was proud.
The day for his Brother to sit on the throne had finally come.
Looking away from the lords and ladies, Auger glanced at the empty throne. (??)
Auger thought he could see the figure of a man sitting there.
A long time ago, that man would sit there, looking down on Auger and Mejojo.
They wanted to be accepted by that man. How long had their paltry childish hearts worked for that? (???)
No matter what they did, even if they showed that they were better than anyone, that man still would not accept them.
He could only love their incompetent elder half-brother. He did not even try to see them.
That damn man merely looked down on them from the top of the throne.
He let their mom die.
He left them to die.
*fade to throne room*
Therefore... they decided to gain power on their own.
*ear twitch* (Aah~ I'm really in the mood to sing)
Auger wondered what that old man sleeping under his grave was thinking about this.
The son that he hoped would succeed the throne lost his title, and now was no longer even in the castle.
Mejojo plundered his throne. A man who was not his son.
What was that man thinking on the verge of his death?
For a long time, Mejojo and Auger had kept up the appearance of being devoted sons.
Until that man's very last moments, until he was suffocated by Mejojo, was he foolish enough to believe they had the bonds between father and son?
Just before his last gasps, his voice seemed to be in pain. A shiver went down Auger's spine as he recalled it.
Auger was so, so, so happy. He felt an impulse to break out in mad laughter.
(Again, you're no use)
At the same time, in his heart, Auger murmured his ultimatum. The illusion sitting on the throne slowly faded away.
From now on, only Mejojo was suited for that throne. Only Mejojo would be allowed to sit there.
In the recent Wolf raid, my father, who was already cursed with poor health, died suddenly from the stress.
It was tragic. It was heartbreaking.
Mejojo's voice clearly echoed around the hall.
It filled all around. The people's noisy murmurs stopped right away.
My father... however indirectly, his life was severed due to the Wolves...!
The intelligent and brave Valdes von Garibaldi. To all those that have gathered here, please offer a silent prayer for the sake of my father, first.
Mejojo just lowered his eyes. The surrounding nobles followed suit, becoming silent.
A painful silence fell in the audience.
(...Aah~~ I want to burst into laughter)
In this silence, if Auger were to guffaw to his heart's content, would it be pleasant, no matter what? (???)
However, that wouldn't be good. It wouldn't be good, yet.
As the son of Valdes von Garibaldi, I am grateful for your condolences.
And... now, I stand here to inherit the title from my great father.
Oh Mejojo, you ham.
I have not yet attained the greatness of my father. However, I cannot leave the throne of this country empty.
This country has been exposed to an unprecedented crises. Zodeiba, the fatal disease, covers this country. And, the Wolves have become rebels.
LOL I guess that's one way to put the Wolves, you ass
I want to protect this country that my father has defended so far, and protect it as well as him.
Therefore... to everyone gathered, this is why a novice like me must succeed my father as much as possible.
If there are any objections, say them now. Otherwise, forever hold your peace.
Can I object? Please? Pleaaaaaaase?
There was only Mejojo's majestic voice that filled the space.
Nobody interrupted him. Everyone could not help but admit that Mejojo had the distinctive character of a king.
Isn't there anyone who objects?
Then, on behalf of everyone here... There is another person beside me. Another person with the right to sit on the throne. I shall ask my younger brother.
Auger von Garibaldi. Do you recognize your older brother to be the king of this country?
Auger slowly walked before Mejojo, feeling the gaze of everyone staring at him.
And of course, he looked to Mejojo while kneeling in front of him.
It was an homage as his vassal.
I recognize you. You will be the only king of this country. I swear my loyalty to you, Mejojo von Garibaldi.
They were boastful, formal words that only stirred his joy. (?)
Mejojo will reign over him.
Mejojo will be the king of the country.
The surrounding people began to murmur again. Auger glanced up to Mejojo, with a satisfied smile.
The nobles that had gathered followed suit, and kneeled before Mejojo as well. It was their homage to him as their vassals.
Mejojo looked down toward Auger, and they locked eyes.
An accomplice's smile colored Mejojo's lips. (?)
Well then--.... I, Mejojo von Garibaldi, have the consent to become the new king.
As my younger brother.... Would you bestow your blessing for me to become the king?
With pleasure, Brother.
Auger stood up with a silent nod.
Right on time, one of the CCK came up to them and reverently lifted up the crown.
The simple, beautiful crown sat on top of a small cushion.
This was the proof of the king.
Before Auger, Mejojo kneeled and bowed his head.
Auger gently lifted the crown. Although it wasn't very heavy, the feeling of it's existence certainly was.
(...We've done many things to get here, Brother)
Auger spoke to Mejojo in his heart absentmindedly, and quietly moved to place the crown on top of his head.
Their mother was the unloved second wife. But then, they were more superior than the first wife's child.
They felt the enmity in the eyes of that wife, and were almost assassinated many, many times.
Mejojo: Auger, are you alright? Was... the poison used again?
Auger: It seems, so. ...Gk, I was, careless. Sorry, Brother.
...Did I not say that you can trust no one? You cannot trust anyone except me.
...Mm. I made you worry.... sorry, Brother.....
...No problem, it doesn't matter. You're okay now. The two of us will live... absolutely. I'll definitely become the king.
No one will be able to oppose us then. We will take hold of everything.
Auger thinks that he must have tasted most of the standard poisons used in assassinations.
He cannot believe in anyone. He cannot allow anyone into his heart.
Until he etched that into his brain, Auger and Mejojo were betrayed many times. They have so far lived their lives hunted, living every minute like their it was their last.
Mejojo and Auger had thus lived their life like this. And they were able to adjust.
However... their mother was too kind.
After being used as a tool in a marriage of convenience, the love for her husband was not returned. She only lived for that. (?)
Their mother's sickness came from that situation, and that was what affected her heart. Only Auger and Mejojo were her world.
Elenora: My twins, will you never leave me? I love my cute twins.
Mejojo: Mother? What are you saying? We would never leave you.
Auger: That's right, mom. What's wrong? What's up with this all of a sudden.
Elenora: A lie. You two always lie. Mejojo and Auger have decided to abandon their mother.
...Mother? What's wrong with you? We...
Elenora: Liars...!! Even you two have abandoned me! Because you carry that man's blood...!!
Even though I give my love to His Majesty, he does not return it!! His Majesty, His Majesty..... HIS MAJESTYYYYYYYY!!
Sto-- Calm down mom...! Did something happen again? Did Lady Rayleigh do something?
Elenora: *sob..!* I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry...!! A woman like me giving birth to His Majesty's children...!!
I'm sorry, I'm sorry...! Please do not kill..... Please....! Do not take these children away from me....!!
...!! It's all right, Mother...! It is only Auger and I here!
Please settle down, Mother...!! That woman is not here...!!
It's okay, mom! We won't allow that woman to mess around with you. Brother and I will always protect you.
...Ah, that's right. We won't allow anyone to meddle with you. Auger and I will protect you.
Elenora: Really....? Mejojo, Auger, you two will protect your Mother....?
Hehe, I'm happy. I'm really happy.
...That's because, I have you two. Even if His Majesty does not love me.... I have you two.....
My cute twins.... Please, love me..... Please give a kiss to your pitiful Mother.....
(...Pitiful, beautiful mom)
She was shut up in this castle full of insanity, but like a pure girl, she continued to pour her love into her sons.
She could not obtain that love from their father, so she kept trying to receive it from her twins. (?)
Surely, that love must have become distorted.
(.... She made us kill her)
At that time, when Mejojo and Auger were made to kill their mother with their hands, they might have lost something important. Auger did not know what that was.
(Mom, are you satisfied?)
Their mother stole that important thing from Mejojo and Auger when she died. (?)
After that, Mejojo and Auger mounted their counterattack. That wife who kept bullying their mother was deprived of her son.
Julian's rights to the throne was snatched away.
(That was fun)
Their dad sincerely loved Julian. Their dad suffered when he had to disinherit his beloved son, and Auger's heart really leapt when he witnessed that.
And once Julian was disinherited, they killed his mother.
To Mejojo and Auger, she was only the woman who kept trying to assassinate them.
They thought she would no doubt be a formidable opponent, but disappointingly, she died unceremoniously.
Afterwards.... they completely broke Julian. They destroyed all his senses of values, and made him dependable on Mejojo and Auger, so that he could not live without them. (?)
(That was fun, Brother)
Auger would erase anything and everything that got in Mejojo's way.
From the beginning, only Mejojo belonged in his world. The other residents were only supporting actors.
Auger would leave them alone if they proved to be interesting, but if they were boring, he would kick them out. (???)
(Thus, we have come so far at last)
Auger placed the royal crown on Mejojo's head.
Auger met Mejojo's eyes as he looked up. A shiver went down his spine, and it was unbearable.
.... His Majesty Garibaldi VII. King Mejojo von Garibaldi. I pledge my sincere loyalty to you.
Nobles: We swear our loyalty to King Mejojo von Garibaldi.
The kneeling nobles repeated Auger's words.
Mejojo, on the other hand, only bowed his head.
And that was good. That much was good.
Starting today, this country belonged to Mejojo. Only Mejojo would become the king. Weblin would be reborn into a new country.
.....Well then, Brother. Everyone is waiting for you.
Even the people... let them hear the words of their new king.
Aah, I see.
As Mejojo's guide, Auger headed to the balcony.
~Weblin royal castle balcony~
When they approached the balcony, they could hear the noisy voices of the crowd gathered outside.
They had also gathered to hear the words of their new king.
They were trying to entrust the future of their country to the new king. A country beset by Wolf attacks and covered with an insurmountable Zodeiba epidemic.
When Mejojo came forth onto the balcony, he received many shouts of joy.
That dignified style moved Auger to tears. He felt that he could cry.
Mejojo: Dear people of Weblin...!! I, Mejojo von Garibaldi, have ascended the throne as Garibaldi VII today!
My rule will not be so different from the previous king's. I have appointed my younger brother, Auger von Garibaldi, as the Prime Minister, and we promise to do our best to protect this country!
(Prime Minister is a keyword, and while it again is a definition, it also says that when Garibaldi VI's health became too poor for him to rule, Mejojo became his prime minister.)
Mejojo: My earnest desire is to totally wipe out Zodeiba and restore Weblin as a beautiful and peaceful country! Everyone surely should also hope for that!
Mejojo: ...Thank you. In honor of my ascension to the throne, I would like to publish a new decree today.
Let us return to a beautiful Weblin. And, forge paths to make that beauty eternal.
Here, in the name of the new king Garibaldi VII, I shall again reinforce the Wolf hunting decree!
Mejojo: Do not hesitate to protect your family, your lover, your companions! Devote yourselves to hunting those Wolves...! Only then will you bring true peace to Weblin!!
The enthusiasm of the people was in a near-frenzy. Those people, who felt scared and threatened, were given a shape for their fears, and were excited to have an enemy. (?)
Auger: (Aah, what idiots)
It really was absurd.
A Zodeiba inhibitor already existed in their hands. Ignorance really was a powerful and terrifying thing.
And a little later. If they could solve the mystery of the Robeira kind, a specific medicine would surely be completed.
They only had to catch another Rabbit doctor somewhere.
However, for this reason the people were so stupid. Up till now, haven't they being worshiping a foolish, dull man as their king?
And now, they have become Mejojo's things. As their pawns, they have devoted their whole lives for the sake of these two brothers.
Auger: Throughout all of eternity.
Their voices chanting Mejojo's name began to rise gradually.
Mejojo: Hurrah for the Weblin kingdom! Hurrah for the royal family! THE CATS SHALL REIGN ETERNAL!
Thus, here. --... A new king of Weblin was born.
/cue internal screaming out of fear
Poor mice. It seems the cat people enslaved them.
All I can think about is how the hell is that crown staying on. It looks as though it would fall off with the slightest movement.
maniskumquat, can you play through the bad end too? It only differs from the Good End at the last choice, I think.
For Auger, Bad End is more of a Truth End for me, since it sheds more light on the complexity of Auger's feelings for Mejojo. Good End is epic just because.
Tehee, I read spoilers :3
Errr, according to my guide, I can either get Auger's good end or Mejojo's bad end with the way I'm playing. I can get Auger's bad end later, but it'll have to be after his good end, if that's alright? I can also show it during the Mejojo stream.
On that note, do you guys want me to go through Mejojo's bad end before Auger's good end? I dunno how much sense it'll make, seeing as we've been ignoring him. But it's a thing we can do.
Hmm...I'm not too fussed either way, but perhaps you could put Mejojo's bad end in spoiler tags for those who don't want to see it?
Attached with hair clips, obviously. =P
